About: Klaypex is an electronic trio based in Los Angeles consisting of Johnny Atar, Alan Notkin and Mark Emmanuel that produces variations of house, electro and future funk, a new genre combining 80's funk with elements of future music and electro house.
In the past Klaypex has collaborated with acts such as Epic Meal Time, Corridor Digital ("DUBSTEP GUNS"), Mike Diva and many other successful creators. They've also worked with international superstar Gerardo Ortiz and have collaborated with many other leading musicians throughout their career.
I don't give a fuck what anybody says, this is one of their best songs. Yeah, it's different from their other stuff, but if it sounded the same you would still complain about how it sounds the same. Artists change. #quityerbitchin

I don't really like the newer stuff, although I found this to be quite enjoyable.
That's one of the reasons I never liked AC/DC. To me their songs sounded like modified copies of each other.

This clip looks like Gorillaz Clint Eastwood, in the general athomsphere. I mean, the singer's character is alive, often drawn in profile, the rapper is from the dead's world and looks a little bit like the ghosts. Anyone agree with me?
I knew I could sense some familiarity to the Gorillaz in this but I couldn't quite explain it; I think you nailed it! Surely there was some Gorillaz influence when making this :)

C'mon people, get over yourselves - If you start unsubbing because they are trying out new branches of the electronic genre's world, then you weren't a fan in the first place. Fans are people who support the artist, not scream at them because they try something new that they don't like. I became a fan back when they just released "Gamefire", and to be honest my favorite song IS still "Gamefire", but that doesn't mean that I can't be supportive of their new songs!
This track is so underated for it's quality. This song should have had more than one million views on it's frst day.

This reminds me of the Gorillaz for some reason. I think it's the slow paced beat, slightly whispered vocals, and the eerie ear candy. Eerie ear candy...Eerie candy. Hahahaha...
This reminded me of Gorillaz, too. It's also aspects of the animation, though. I think it may be safe to assume that the animator is influenced by the animation work of Gorillaz. When the protagonist is singing with the profile of his face showing he looks quite a bit like 2D 0:32, as well as the animation of the mouth being extremely similar to that of Jamie Hewlitt. Gorillaz also have a fascination with zombies, having quite a few music videos featuring them. The lead singer's voice is also pretty similar to Damon Albarn's. I agree, it is very Gorillaz-esque. The only thing that could make this any more like Gorillaz is if they added a thrusting satanist playing the bass! (Ear-y candy, lol!)
MurderMagic8 Another thing I noticed is the way the "story" is told. The song, Clint Eastwood, for instance, switches between 2-D and Del the Funky Homosapien multiple times throughout the song. The same thing can be seen here with the protagonist and the antagonist (lead zombie) taking turns singing. This allows the listener/viewer to understand the different perspectives of each character.
Yeah, that's the video it reminded me of most. I was also reminded of Rockit though because, you know, zombies... That connection you made between the switching perspectives was very astute. I hadn't really thought of it in that way. *claps*

I used to be a dubstep guy, but I grew out of it. And went back to listening to progressive rock and roll and some metal like I did before dubstep. At the start of 2013 I really started to dislike dubstep, however I still kept up with klaypex over Facebook. I checked this out 3 days ago, and was not disappointed. It's definitely different from the original klaypex. But I'm a prog music guy, and if the music style changes I'm cool with it. And I really like this, the vocals, intimate but light bass drops, the piano. It's very different, but definitely cool.

ThatShitCrayZ Well, yeah, that does make me sound pretentious.I didn't stop listening to it because it lost popularity. I stopped listening to it because it all started to sound the same to me and I felt that the large majority of the Dubstep artists lost some creativity because they were each conforming to each others music and it all became too similar.
And no i didn't go to the next fad. I don't think that Rush, Tool, Mastodon, King Crimson, Genesis, Rishloo, or Porcupine Tree are the next fads. I doubt most people here listen to these bands... So no, I'm not some mindless sheep to whatever the music industry puts out, eyes and ears prone to the repetitive music they put out. But I appreciate you pointing out my ego.

What genre would everyone consider this song to be? Liquid dubstep? Chillstep? It has aspects of electro, dubstep, and reggae in addition to nice instrumentals (violin), but i honest have no idea what you would classify this as.
