Corey Sandhagen’s perfectly timed flying knee ko against Frankie Edgar is my favorite. So clean and within 30 seconds of the 1st round.
That’s probably the cleanest KO I’ve ever seen in the UFC and Definitely the most underrated.
Thanks. Just watched and had my mind blown. Sandhagen vs Nurmagomedov gonna be crazy. I have no idea what's going to happen.
this is probably the best ad for a fight i've ever seen. and it's educational. also, props on 3M subs! it's been a while since i visited the channel.
MVP vs Cyborg knee is by far the most brutal one i have seen 😬
My favorite knee KO is Paul Daley vs Brennan Ward. The setup was beautiful by Paul Daley from the clinch by a spinning back elbow to get out of the clinch followed by the flying knee finish. The end result a huge gash on Brennan Ward's left eye.
I was there live for that one. Ward was unconscious for a very long time after that hit -- scary stuff. I remember feeling very relieved when he finally came to 🙏
@@fighttips i have a question. Do you have to condition your knees right to do knee strikes right? For example i have never practiced knee strikes i done more boxing on a a heavy bag. Would i have to practice training my knees to handle that kind if impact?
@@dmx16677 trust me bro the patella is one of the strongest bpnes in the body. Wether its a rib or a mandible its caving in well before your knee does.
Romero vs Weidman comes to my mind, sure the form of the knee was not solid but the impact and the gash on widemans head was terrifying.
Since I played racquetball in high school and still play a little bit, this works perfectly because I still have some racquetball balls in my house. Knees are an awesome strike. Keep up the awesome work Shane love your content
Perfect! You got it, Sven 👍
Thank you sooo much for your videos 😊
I LOVE the new video style, keep going bro
Love this tip. Thanks Shane
Dude, I LOVE YOUR videos!
Very informative and cool.

20 year ago....When Tony Jaa knock out random guy with flying knee in the movie...Everyone think it just a fake move like Kung-Fu from China and now a day it's one of the best knock out shot!
Brilliant video respect brother YNWA
That’s a very good tip. I’m definitely gonna have to try that to perfect my flying knee
Pretty hard to beat Masvidal vs. Askren. Dan Harding had a really good knee knockout against a boxer but I can't remember his name.
u are one of best channel martial arts on youtube i like u
but
where i can watch ur fights?
do u fight?
*TOP 5*
*Michael Venon Page vs Cyborg Santos in Bellator 158.
*Jorge Masvidal vs Ben Askren UFC 239.
*James Irvin vs Terry Martins UFC 54.
*Anderson Silva vs Carlos Newton in PRIDE 25.
*Edson Barboza vs Beneil Dariush UFC Fight Night 106.
Make a video on fighter aesthetics it will pull some attention anyway fabulous video as always
My favorite knee to the head was Yoel Romero Vs Weidman🔥
This is why V Trigger(Kenny Omega's move) is my favorite pro wrestling move.... ❤
Woah, I just watched a couple -- respect to his opponents for taking those hits 😬
I would love to see you spar Shredded Jeff!
Classic FightTips content 🙏 and the flying knee has been one of my favourite techniques, it’s effective and just fun to do and practice, and my favourite (even though it’s hard to choose and may change) is probably Edson Barboza’s knockout of Beneil Dariush
Favorite knee finish, Yan vs Aljo
A knee to the head? I would’ve never known, thanks shane
Jorge Masvidal vs Ben Askren in UFC and Anderson Silva vs Carlos Newton in PRIDE 25.
Clay collard has actually taken knees to the chin pretty well. Also I’m heading to the one fight night 10 event also. I won some vip tickets. Hope to see you there
Michael "Venom" Page vs Evangelista "Cyborg" Santos. Regardless of how one may feel about MVP's antics and showboating, it cannot be denied that he usually puts on master classes of striking.
Hey Shane
I have a question that maybe a good video concept also. I am 15 years old and am looking to do an mma match in the near future. The thing is that i live in the Netherlands where strikes to the head in combat sports aren’t allowed under 18 years of age. Also no knees and elbows allowed. What would you do if you had a fight under those rules.
James Irvin vs Terry Martin!!! Shane's Knees are on point too! No punn intended! LOL
I'm having so much fun reading these comments -- reminding me of some of the great finishes that I forgot about!
Two questions: 1. How do you defend against a possible knee strike attack ? 2. Knee against the chin, doesn´t it break your jaw bones or teeth ?
I think the only defence for it is to step away or to counter it before it lands
extend your arm to push them off
@@epicboi3213 that's not realistic unless you have an really good reach
even more impressive the clipes where they instantly get up after beeing knocked down by a knee
last night when derrick lewis took down marcos in like 15 seconds was crazy and i was lucky enough to see it live
You can't multiply forces. Holding the head reduces the time of impact (because the head is not "rolling with the punches") which in return increases impulse on impact. Basically holding the head allows all the momentum (aka impulse/~force) to be transferred.
If flying, then your whole body weight is transferred in the momentum.
If on the ground then the final impulse (~force) is split in half (½ to target and ½ to the ground).
He isn't talking about holding the head, but pulling the head down into the knee. It's more like a vehicular head on collision (where the forces are going against each other) versus tapping someone's bumper (where the forces are going the same direction or where one is stopped).
I love Alex Pereira's Knee Finish in his first fight
That a crisp knee. There was so little effort put into it as well. Fantastic precision on that strike.
Michelidis was the guy.. I like it when he did it to wilnis after wilnis got up from a knock down
Shane how would you fight a karate or 'in and out' fighter especially when their strikes are quick and not fully committed
This Guy is the ChrisFix of MMA
MVP vs Cyborg
FLYING KNEE
The shuffle knee is stronger than the regular fliyin knee right??
Claxton comes to mind, Masvidal's was epic of course.
There have been many great ones.
Who did The Spider get with a flying knee?
Flying Knee
Bro where can i get a trouser like yours?
**Ben Asken has left the chat**
Cory Sanhagen walk off was the best
Favorite knee? Masvidal vs Askren lol
my fav is cory's against Frankie Edgar
Nice skill so how to train it
I’m real short and most people have 12 inches on me what are some boxing styles i can use?
💥🤯
i have a question. Do you have to condition your knees right to do knee strikes right? For example i have never practiced knee strikes i done more boxing on a a heavy bag. Would i have to practice training my knees to handle that kind if impact?
I would definitely practice knee strikes a ton before using them in fights. Proper technique is the main thing that protects the knee when throwing it, I’ve heard Shane say he loves the long knee so I’m sure he has a video on the correct form brother!
@@caseyhunt4248 I understand. But do you just mean practicing the technique and also practicing hitting a heavy bag to get the knees used to it?
knees anywhere can be devastating. I once dropped an opponent who had a consistently high guard by cutting an angle and catching him in the solar plexus with a knee. took him about 5min to get up from that.
I've ended opponents with knees, and they can come to the legs at so many angles.. to the outer and inner thigh and more directly on the front quad. Its crazy how conditioned the legs can be to kicks but then a tiny grazing knee can just end it
I been this fight long ago
Do you have merchandise? If so, where can we purchase it?
Yes! We've got gear and apparel over at www.fighttipsgear.com 🙏
chito vera disagrees
What about swimming knees? 🤔
Jose Aldo cub Swanson
Who got the first flying knee ko in MMA (or nhb)?
My favorite MVP vs Cyborg. That was devastating.
Aw man, great example of the amount of capable force generated 😬
Mine is Reecoom kick on Vegeta, on planet Namek.
My favorite knee knockout was Jorge Masvidal
Definitely Masvidal vs Askren. I Mean a 5 second KO thats insane
Best way to fight someone who favours the technique is to fight off long guard and jam the chest....
This is why I avoid knees just like I do with cars, I just assume they are trying to kill me.
My man Shane, do you not age? I've been watching you for a decade now and you still look almost the same as always. What's the secret?
Sleep 8+ hours every night, drink lots of water, and move everyday 🙏☺️
He other day i saw a video of a dude thwt got their jaw split in half from one of those knees. Kinda scary.
Masvidal one is just baffling lol
Newby here, so whats the best defence?

Alex pereira vs wilnis
What shoes you wearing Shane?
Otomix
tomorrow schoolfight 1vs1 thx for the tip
I never understood why to people call it "flying" knee, today. Back in the good days it was vallwd jumping knee or Sizzer knee. That knee ain't "flyin" anywhere..

Flying Knee VS Flying Elbow?
In terms of force generated and KO potential the knee takes it all day long, but a flying elbow is much less risky to throw in a fight, have you seen Jon Haggerty’s elbow against Joseph Lasiri?
Excuse me. Can you stick English subtitles to your movies? Я would like more understand your😅 Thanks for you content
My dog didn’t stand a chance
Masvidals 7 sec flying knee KO against Ben Askren
My favourite is from a movie: flying knee with elbow drop
Maybe, you can guess the actor...
MJW?
Venom Paige crushed cyborgs skull with a knee
Is a flying knee worth the risk in a street fight? I feel as if its a big "it depends" moment.
Yeah, it depends. The aggression level is usually high and the distance is usually tight. You risk getting jammed up and knocked over -- but if your timing and accuracy is on point, never say never!
@@fighttipsI appreciate it, Shane!!
"Anyone" includes the dude throwing the knee if he fucks up.
Fedor vs Arlovski!
@@fighttips man was OUT moments he took off from the ground. Direct fist to chin collision. Another example of overconfidence being a slow and insidious killer.
🥵🥵🥵
Jorge Masvidal flying knee against Ben Askren
Duh, how could we forget! Also Kid Yamamoto!
Is training the knee alot bad for the knees?
No, not if you're exercising proper technique and hitting something padded like a heavybag or pads.
@@fighttips Thanks for letting me know. I love the Thai knees/elbows to go with boxing but was worried until now.
Also, yor speed and technique on that drill was slick AF. Going to aim to get it near you one day fella! Who you got for the Trillogy?
can i use this in sparring without hurting my partner?
No, no flying knees to the head in sparring -- they are too risky since most people respond by lowering their level. Save them for drilling and pads.
I dont remember who it was but I remember seeing a fairly early UFC (i think. Certainly MMA) match with a really good wrestler/grappler against a good striker who had predominantly been working on his grappling defenses and basic offense. And at the time of the fight was when the masses had turned to the whole wrestling and grappling is everything and unstoppable and striking was so yesterday and thus the guy didntbstand a chance. The wrestler will dive straight in, take him down and its murder she wrote after that.
And soon as it kicked off (so to speak) as expected the wrestler run for and straight for the double leg and the other guy was prepared for that and threw a beautiful flying knee and knocked the wrestler out cold, and hard! Just a second or two into the fight it was all over and alot of the fanboys looked just as rocked as the poor wrestler guy! 😂😂😂
That was my favourite all time knee strike of any! 🙂
Twas one of those fights and strikes that shocked people and really changed what i believed was an erronous predominant philosophical trend that went to the extreme from the other erronous extreme it was before that... (basically that striking was everything and wrestling and grappling was useless and gay. :))
As someone who trained first in boxing and judo twice a week each starting the same week at age six (at same facility.) Then some other stuff also from my latter teens inckuding catch wrestling and muay thai.... i was pretty convinced grappling was mean as hell and so was good striking and ita best to have both well rounded and if good at one then least learn good solid defense for the orher.
And like i think all the greatest fights people did take notice and it did change the whole scene for the better and the fighting arts evolved for the better from it.
Romero vs Weidman!!!.... ANY of ROMERO'S cuban missles!!!!
Oooff, absolutely brutal
I think the worst one I see was Michael venom page against cyborg and that didn’t even hit his chin, hit him square on the forehead
And put a hole in his skull 💀
Silva Newton is my favorite. perfectly timed.
Legendary example
Flying knees can't knock you out Shane
You think Tabares has a chance against Rodtang? 😆
Truthfully... no. But anything can happen, and mistakes get made when you underestimate your opponent!
I just foght this sunday, and the girl have a really good punches, but I won by TKO, I suffocated her whit my knees
Congratulations! That's a great strategy to shut down a puncher 👍

Mr. Knee: hold my 🍺
Well duh but also flying knee??? DJ was not KO'd by a flying knee. It was essentially a forward drop knee with some hip thrust. I understand you are just making content but you would think the second example you use could actually be a legit representation... I mean is that asking too much lol
First like bruh.
Nope you can see you re not and we don't care about babies with nothing to say wanting attention for a boring life
ua-cam.com/video/KVsGixw5WWc/v-deo.html And here Shane gets across the defense against one. Thanks, Shane!
Thank you for sharing the link 🙏☺️
@@fighttips Don't mention it! :)
Foist
Nope doesn't count if ya got nothing to say !!! Mommy Mommy can I sit at the big kids table
How many takes did that flying knee to the ball take? Be honest.
Chito ate one of those 🤣💀💀
