One of the best values on the USED market! Oh, and thanks for introducing us to the Mother Hips. I'd never heard of them before your video which I saw about a year ago!
The Boston Acoustics line for mid 1980's was sweet. Very similar sound throughout the line. I have the A-40's (.75" tweeter, 6.5" woofer) in my kitchen system powered by a Pioneer SX-434 (15wpc) receiver and Nakamichi BX-1 cassette deck. Excellent dispersion and the A-40's only require 5w minimum power. Impressive sound from a budget speaker. Read Stereo Review's write up of the A-40 speaker. Makes my kitchen rock. Fuhgeddaboudit!
I picked up a pair of these for 80 bucks at a thrift store last year. Some of the best money I ever spent. Super bass heavy, nice mid and high. Hip hop thumps hard on these, Loud ass hell!
I've had a lot since then but currently my home setup is a pair of OLA Original Large Advents powered by an ADS/Braun Stack. At my business location I'm running some ADS L710's + Monitor Audio 702 PMC Bookshelf's and a Mirage Sub; powered by a Marantz 2235B. But I also switch between a Mcintosh MA 6100 intergrated amp and a Bogen DB 212 Tube amp. Ahhhhhh, so many possibilities..hahaha
Peter Kepha nice man. im currently recaping some boston a70s and repairing the cabinets as i write this comment and i have a Akai am-u01 amp and alot of coustom speakers made by me and a set of sound dynamics 200tis boston a70s sound dynamics rts-1s 3 sets of hatachis and a klipsh something full range speaker things and something else burried in my closet. lol
I can vouch for these being some of the best 3 way speakers I have ever heard for under a $1000 dollars! I play these on my main setup. What I would like to find now are Boston Acoustics the A-200's, or even rarer A-400 speakers.
I'm getting the A100s very soon. Not sure what the difference is between the A100 and the A150, but the A100s sounded INCREDIBLE when I tested them out.
Still enjoying mine after 36 years! Love the tight acoustic suspension bass!

The A150's sound great!...What receiver are you using and do you have a Sub hooked-up?

The A150 has a midrange driver that’s absent from the A100, Both sound great.
nice speakers. I used to sell these. I almost bought a pair.
I've been given a pair of these a150's, but don't know what to look for in getting a power amp to run this model of speakers.
Anybody out there changed the Capacitors on the BA 150’s and what did you change them to? Thanks
I miss them. I sold them too cheap too. :-(
