lol true, when i see that i just like wtf is that transformation, epyon have more steps than that...
Took the words out of my mouth. But, let's also not forget that this shit was _reinforced_ with the Wing ZERO, and later the Airmaster.
At least the Kyrios tried to do _something_ different, and the Delta Gundam was a nice return-to-form _even if_ it was based on the Methuss.

See that one thing I don’t get about this shield design ? Why the one blade while the the freedom has three blades? Shouldn’t the shields be switched on the suits ?

Transform
I used to not like 008 and Thunderbolt for having underwhelming or outlandish designs until I learned the reason in-universe. They really should provide a convincing explanation why these transformations are so dumb because they are and aerodynamics just don't cut it.
In universe reasons are because these forms are just power saving forms so they don't use too much energy in floght since their job has them do long travel a lot. Also these MS are just battery powered, thus the need for a power saving form.
Also these MS are using a lot of parts and are pretty standard in build because the seed world is facing an economic crisis so funding to MS has been reduced, it's also why these 2 MS have pretty much the same build and equipment.
We've seen zaft make Ms with cool transformations like Gaia and savior, but these guys are just made with mass production in mind/cost saving which is why they don't use a transformable frame and just lie down with wings out.
