What an incredible film, the words, the script, the actors, all so extremely well done, emphasising once again, how there are absolutely no writers or decent actors these days....
Regardless of the comical charade pervading every moment of this endearing film, so much of this domestic upheaval is very plausible, sadly or no, which actually makes the bottom-line captivating. Most honest people will recognize themselves easily!
The theatre world thinks of John and Maria ( John emery and Tamara geva) as the romantic lovers they play on the stage, but when the curtain comes down,blood pressures go up for the forever fighting husband-wife treat team! Even counseling does no good as their psychiatrists begin bickering as badly as their patients! The not-so -private lives of the prickly pair are explored in this mirthful martial comedy! Leif Erickson and Virginia gr Gregg are the shrieks-I mean shrinks -and Roy Roberts is the couple’s manager-and this delightful film 🎥 is good for laughs and groans -it’s maddeningly good! 👍 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😂😂😂

"Gay" very obviously didn't have the same meaning in 1948 as it has in 2023. While not brilliant, this film does have redeeming features and is mildly entertaining.

Seems John Emery did his best to emulate John Barrymore, and succeeded! The 20s through the mid 60s had the very best comedies, and this one is proof!
