I don’t think any freshman is that excited about going back to school. This is a brand new school for them. They can’t even get a five of the school before either going online, or doing a weird back to school thing. I’m a junior but I transferred schools a month before Covid so I have zero friends and that sucks. I only made five friends over that time. One of them I don’t even like because she thinks that other people don’t matter, one of them I don’t know that well, and two of them were seniors and are now in college. Starting a new school and Covid is not at all exciting. My little sister is a freshman and I feel bad for her. A lot of places aren’t even doing freshman orientation. When I was a freshman, we had a brand new school so everyone had to do an orientation because nobody knew with her classes were. I was a freshman orientation isn’t about getting to know the vibe of the school or the teachers. It’s about knowing where you’re going.Freshman who aren’t getting orientations, are going in blind!

suraya abdalla exactly. I feel bad for you. Freshman hear enough horror stories about high school and without a real orientation, no freshman is exited. The only reason there is to be excited about starting high school is the fact that you get treated a little bit more seriously but not enough to make it count.( or seeing your friends again but when it’s online that doesn’t even work.
I’m a freshmen but I have to go to the jr high school because our district has so many students they have so many schools. Elementary is normal, middle school is 6-7, jr high is 8-9, and high school is 10-12 🥴 so I’m still stuck at the dumb jr high 😂😭

This girl is so right. School isn’t about Learning anymore. It’s about who fails and who passes. Never have a once heard a teacher tell us the actual consequences for not finishing or turning in an assignment. It’s always “you’re going to loose points” or “a lot of kids are passing. You should be too.” When a project is assigned, the only thing Anyone hears is “this is for ___ points on your report card. If you don’t turn it in, you’re going to fail my class.” Maybe it’s just my school, but They give us learning applications like Quizlet, Everfi, and Lexia to teach us reading and basic things the teachers themselves could teach the whole class within a few hours. All for us to get an assignment rating the game and saying what we did or didn’t like about it. Nothing is being put in our minds. It goes in one ear, and out the other. We aren’t being thought basic things we need for life. To get us jobs. Yet teachers defend themselves by saying how “once we grow up, we’re going to need this” but we never do. We don’t need to know how to divide decimals. We need to know how to look for a stable job. And how to manage our money. It’s sad seeing school be turned into what it is today.

Me and my friends on our after school bus in 7th grade got this crazy bus driver and we would ask him to do that on a very bumpy road so when he did we would jump all the way to the roof of the bus one of my friends jumped with it to hard and had a HUGE bruise on her face bc she decided to lift her head back and face palm the roof😂 we never did it again

Here's my problem with school. There honestly just so out if touch with the actual world today and its treated more or less like a business. What's the point of forcing all of this useless information on a student if school was actually built upon your personal interests and yes I understand learning the basics but if we could actually choose subjects it would be much more beneficial. And college is trash I said what I said.
I really think that we should only be taught the basics at school and then when we are adults and go to college we can be more sure about what we want to learn.

i moved and i had to go to a whole new school and i have a two best friends from last year and having one of them having in my class really helped my anxiety with meeting new people cause i get extremely nervous when i have to talk to new people. and my friends have been at this school for so long and they said some of the girls are “those girls” and i’ve talked to one or two of them and they are “that girl” so im really nervous for when they talk to me since one of my friends said they never stopped talking to new people and of course, that’s me. all i want to do is just get an assigned seat near my best friend, not talk to anyone except him, do all the work, stay up till 4am doing homework and just go to sleep. not get involved with anyone else. everyone’s gonna make fun of me being friends with a boy, since im a girl, and yes my classes still isn’t over girls hanging out with boys. my teacher is super modern and everything and when i walk in with all my kandi bracelets, oversized jeans with chains and stuff all over my belt, a knitted sweater vest in a really bright color, a bucket hat, lots of earrrings, etc i feel like everyone’s gonna look at me weird cause i’ve never seen anyone else wearing indie/kandi kid style so now everyone’s going to judge me and i don’t know what i did to anyone. i used to be the loud and funny class clown, because my class was perfect, everyone was nice, nobody judged eachother, but now i’m so so so nervous because my class sucks and i don’t want to talk to anyone expect for my boy-friend. everyone’s gonna make fun of me for liking dream and tommy, etc because apparently it’s annoying and childish and yes people can have opinions but it’s just so horrible how people straight up say “that’s dumb, it’s so childish and really annoying” because it makes me feel like everything i like is just dumb and i just shouldn’t like it when it’s one of the things keeping me happy and encouraging me stay healthy. and everyone will make fun of me for liking undertale and deltarune since it’s old and not trendy anymore when literally it’s a game. everyone in my old classes played it and nobody made fun of it but i can just tell they will this year and it’s pissing me off.

1:47 was awesome. i completely agree. yes we do need to know simple things like how to multiply divide and even yeah some algebra or where do use punctuations or how to spell things or just how to write a simple essay but some of the other stuff that we do not have to learn. its unnecessary unless we want to take a career path in that area. it’s like we don’t have lives we’re just forced to try to be as brilliant as we can be and be amazing as we can be but some of us just want to live a damn life. we are taught to shove mental health to the side and do homework till 3 AM get shitty sleep and go to school and do more work and do the same thing over and over again until were adults. what type of childhood is that? and school rules are just like prison rules and that is a fact it’s ridiculous this shit is so stupid. We need to learn how to live our lives and take care of finance financial issues other than learning calculus. We should know how to set up our own doctors appointments instead of asking our parents how to do it whenever were adults. We should explore are different opinions on politics instead of shoving them to the side because you guys don’t want to have a goddamn conversation about politics because somebody in the classroom might disagree. yes we should know how to change your own tires instead of calling somebody every single time and then being called brats. but no we have to waste our time on doing our homework and learning stuff that we will just forget within the next month because you guys want to stuff our brains with all of this shit and expect us to remember for huge tests at the beginning middle and end of the year.
