    Excellent video, never knew that there was such a variety of belts, thanks for the education 👍😁

      Thanks for the comment. Glad you liked it. There are a few more types of belt too but different calibres so we can’t fire them at the moment.

    Had .303 in the later type of belt issued for use in No.4 rifles in the mid 1980's as a Cadet. Wish I'd kept a belt!

      Absolutely. I think that’s where the shortened strips of it originate from as they were cut to issue.

      @@vickersmg Come to think of it they were probably in rolls of about fifty but in a card box. That said, this was 35 years ago and the memory plays tricks as we often see in the comments section.

      That’s interesting. It would be good if some turned up.

    Sir what is ammo caliber used in all belts you showed ?

    Is there a version of the Mk3 air service belt that is non-disentegrating?

    • @vickersmg
      @vickersmg  2 роки тому +2

      No. The only non-disintegrating link is the ground service. It would defeat the object in aircraft guns.

      @@vickersmg Wow thanks for the quick reply. I was looking at some Maxim belts that a friend was selling he said they were Russian Maxim belts, but they were steel and looked very similar to the MK3 Air Service ones that you displayed. Turns out the belts were Finnish M1910 Maxim belts, hence why they were in 7.62x54r and not the normal canvas belts which the Russians primarily used for their Maxims.
      That does make sense now.
      Also I really enjoyed your Bren in 60 seconds videos. Very cool weapon.
