  • Venerable brings this first sutta discussion session of the season following the vassa on the theme of dealing with anger. Looking at the roots and causes of anger within us, both Venerable and the participants in the group, share their rich and insightful experiences and reflections all within the context of the Buddha's teaching; not identifying with what one is going through, not judging on goodness and badness, the aspect of no-self and that all things arise and pass due to cause and effect.
These teachings are freely offered so as to be accessible to all. Any donation you feel moved to offer will enable us to continue spreading the priceless Dhamma and will also contribute towards the development of the first Theravada Bhikkhuni Monastery in the UK, where women will be able to train towards full ordination, and people of every background, race, sexual orientation and gender will be warmly welcomed to visit or reside as guests. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. Please visit www.anukampaproject.org/donate

Not that this is the place (UA-cam) for a reply, but your talk brought up a thought I've had quite often...why do we seem to be the only living thing who is beset against itself, almost as a habit. I've never seen a tree grow in anger or suffer with guilt and loathing, or a horse suffer with regret. Maybe they do, and it's a universal thing, but everything outside of us seems to go about its business without all the inner dramas we create for ourselves. We seem so odd in that regard.

You are much better teaching Dhamma, except for you talk little too fast. You are not into jokes wasting time. You tech dhamma to our day to day life. If you slow down a bit I would enjoy much more of your beautiful British accent. Metta to all.

it's possible to click on the little gear and listen at .75 speed. I usually speed it up for certain speakers but it can work both ways :)
