    Super nice. Nothing like vintage Triumphs. My favorite was the 650c, knobby tires, single carb for low end torque, and high pipes. It was a blast to ride on the street or off.

    My '72 Daytona has been kept stock. It's blue and white. Owned it about 30 years, after rescuing it from my Kawasaki dealership.
    I use my '18 KLR-650 for my 'Desert Sled'.
    ha 😁

      That's awesome! The bikes I'm building are basket cases, so I don't feel bad modifying them. I have a new Tenere 700 for when I really want to get lost.

      @@1020_SpeedFactory You did really a nice job on that 500!
      That 21" front wheel is wild.
      I wish I had that kind of work area.
      I have 4 bikes, a giant work bench...anda Chevy Trailblazer in a 2 car garage. 🙄
      lol

      @joeblow5037 Thanks! Took me a bunch of years to get this space, and still not finished. I've worked in driveways and rented spaces in the past, sometimes you have to work with what you've got.

    Way to go! I'm currently building a Desert Sled from a '74 KZ400.
    Probably about 1 year from finishing

    Hi, it looks great, really nice job. Do you have an idea what it weighs as set up, still street legal? Obviously the stock exhaust is pretty heavy.

    • @1020_SpeedFactory
      @1020_SpeedFactory  3 роки тому

      Thanks, stock this bike was around 385 lbs. I haven't got it on a scale yet, but I'd be interested to see what it does weigh now. It is still street legal.

      @@1020_SpeedFactory Thanks very much for the reply. I worded it wrong, could see that it was street legal. Guess I meant "as set up? (still street legal)"
      From looking up specs, the T100C is supposed to be 370 wet and I read that they can be stripped to 290 but that seems like a real stretch. My T100R Daytona feels light and nimble as stock and I want to do a desert sled with my T100C. I'd be real happy with anything around 340 lbs or less. Looking at other desert sleds like yours is pretty motivating.

      @@douglasfrantzen3011 This was also a Daytona, so around 385 to start. I think 340 is very possible. I have it plated all the time though street legal is a loose term haha. I dont run turn signals or a horn and just 1 very small mirror on the handlebar. I still want to upgrade the rims to aluminum at some point. That should be good for a few pounds.

    Hello, my name is Tsur, I’m from south Israel.
    i love your build, beautiful bike.
    I start a desert sled project. from a 65 350cc.
    can you please, send me the model and needed information of your front fork and wheel. Thanks so much🙏🙏

    • @1020_SpeedFactory
      @1020_SpeedFactory  Рік тому

      Thanks, the fork is a Ceriani, I don't believe anyone reproduces the offroad model. You will have to find used one, check ebay. I think the wheel is from a Penton. I had to make a custom axle to make it all work. Good luck with your project!

      Thanks! No the bike I am building is another Triumph T100. I will be cutting everything off the stock frame, in an attempt to make it as light as possible.
