Difference in this doll is the arm sockets. I think the BvS the arm blended better with the body. My issue with either is the bodice color is brighter red than the movie bodice. Seems like mattel wanted to kind of stick with the traditional color scheme of WW rather than the movie costume coloring. I almost doubt they'll put out a Justice League Wonder Woman Barbie. I mean what can I do? Reissue the one they already had? But we shall see...
The biggest difference is the body. The legs /thighs are much bigger and toned. The arms are also more muscular - the band on her bicep hides the muscle definition on that arm so I took it off and posed her in a way where it shows off her build more. I really love this new body type. That combined with the cape makes this version far superior to the BVS version. If you have this version, getting the BVS version is pointless unless it is for comparison purposes. This doll is much better in my opinion.
Aside from the cloak ,sword and shield they removed the bicep swivel... The arms look bigger which is nice but it inhibits the ability to pose her in the classic bracelet deflecting pose... Also the face paint is slightly different around the eyes to look a little more like Gadot...
Yeah, Wonder Woman I loved the TV show when I was a kid (Lynda Carter rocks). If you come to Montreal you have to go see the Barbie Expo: expobarbie.ca/en/ Thanks Jason for your fun videos and Instagram posts. 😀
The only thing that bugged me a little bit about this doll was her eyes. She seems to be looking off into space more than other WW dolls. I don't mind the molded on torso, it makes sense to get that super tight look that she has in the movie.
I love her cloak. I also noticed that the hilt of her sword is different from her previous doll. Also, that the playline Wonder Wonder dolls look more fierce.
I have the Batman vs Superman Wonder Woman and the only thing that I don't like is that the armor is not removable (I wanted to put a white dress on her like she wear in the movie) .... I have seen pictures that some people had remove it , but I'm sure it was really hard .
That's true , but why have they not release also a second doll in a dress like that : www.hollywoodreporter.com/sites/default/files/custom/Stephanie/Batman_v_Superman_7_embed.jpg She was a very long time in the movie wearing this dress .
Besides the cape and the M2M body, how is it different from the BvS WW doll?? I'm thinking of getting her but idk if I want her if she basically the same but with a cape...
FRankestein RC that is it just came and shield. the sword is a little different. I only brought this one because of a 30% off at Toys R Us and didn't have the first one
I'm not a barbie fan or collector at all, but i have to say: this barbie doll looks ten times better than any of the official Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) action figures . I think thats kind of funny.
+Charles Robinson if this doll is designed anything like the batsman vs superman ww doll then yes, her clothing is removable...BUT...she isn't designed for it to be removed which means the armor could break. The armor is designed to stay on her.
Jay Squared I agree. Also the reviews are in and they say the movie is good.😃 Overall I think Mattel did a good job with both the playline and collector. Not in love with printed on design but they are built well for kids to play with and the muscular body supports body positivity and shapes other than a model. Can't wait to see your other two reviews in this line
Got her but upset that she can't grip the sword properly like the cheaper version. At least mine can't. The cheap version has a death grip on the sword and the sword even though thinner on the cheap version has more detail on it because of the darker color. Wish there was a way to pry off bodice without breaking it so I could put her in the blue dress of the cheap doll or Mattel made an expensive version of her in the blue dress. Is it just me or is she less muscular than the cheaper dolls? Mattel makes both so it would have been nice for her to have a different body than a standard Barbie. Can't wait for Ken Crystal Cove Review
+usmcmarine21 yeah, it seems that the sword grip is an issue for some. I hoped for a more muscular body to be honest. It just seems more fitting. Thanks for watching :)
I do custom Wonder Woman dolls because I love the idea of Wonder Woman having a beautiful face like a Barbie...but a more muscular body like an action figure/ warrior - if you want to see my customs, let me know. I can post a link here, but it requires an AOL log in since I have AOL or I can email pics to you. I have completed 4 old school Wonder Woman versions so far (red, white and blue) 1 Gal Gadot version - which is extremely similar to this one in the review..I just tweeked a few things and then I have one Diana Prince in the old military outfit. I plan to do several more by the end of this year.
this body has no upper arm articulation, but it's much more muscular. compare arms and legs at least. and actually all the double joints are looking more polished and smoother. and the sword and shield are new.
she cute i am not huge wonder woman fan i am huge barbie fan i kinda want see the new movie more batman and superman fan i think get her i think i might keep mine in box
I can't believe they molded clothes on a collector doll. She's beautiful, but such a shame for collectors expecting more. Why oh why can't they bring the bend and click back? I don't like seeing those joints like that.
+Megan W The clothing isn't molded on to the dolls. They're sewn on and can be removed...but just because they can be removed doesn't mean they should be. I mean, I don't know much more that people could be expecting from these dolls.
Thanks, it looks molded it's so tight. I just want real clothes on the collector dolls. I am not a fan of the molded on clothes appearing everywhere. I do miss those bend and clicks though.

so excited for the film! great review jason!!!

Omg I'm obsessed with the cloak! I usually wouldn't go for her but the cloak is so cute lol. Love your reviews!
+Twisted Toytown yeah, the cloak is a nice touch. Thank you so much for watching.
Yes! Please do a comparison between the cheap- and this version!
Aside from the cloak ,sword and shield they removed the bicep swivel... The arms look bigger which is nice but it inhibits the ability to pose her in the classic bracelet deflecting pose... Also the face paint is slightly different around the eyes to look a little more like Gadot...
+David Rodriguez I haven't compared her to my other WW doll yet but it's nice to hear of the differences others are noticing. Thanks for sharing

Jay Squared , yes definitely.

+Paluxy L. While the armor is able to be removed, it was never designed for removal. That's why it's so hard for collectors to remove her armor.

Oh, ok, Thanks for letting me know :)
Love your review, just not "Gado" it is Gadot with a T in the end, she's Israeli, not french
I'm not a barbie fan or collector at all, but i have to say: this barbie doll looks ten times better than any of the official Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) action figures . I think thats kind of funny.
I am so looking forward to seeing wonder woman she is gorgeous especially gal gadot she is perfect
+christina koam I'm so excited to see the movie!!
Is her armor removable, like if you wanted to change her clothes?
+Charles Robinson if this doll is designed anything like the batsman vs superman ww doll then yes, her clothing is removable...BUT...she isn't designed for it to be removed which means the armor could break. The armor is designed to stay on her.

+Charles Robinson yes...but it isn't designed for removal.
I love Gal Gadot as wonder woman I ordered some WW merchandise including the dolls I'm obsessed with her
+Carlos Sebastian necrotic goth she's such a beautiful doll!! I can't wait to buy more WW stuff myself! Thanks so much for watching

I'll do a comparison at some point. If not on UA-cam, I'll do it on my instagram @thejaysquared :)
thanks! I was actually trying to reply to FRankestein RC, lol. but I'm eager to see what you will find!
She's amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
+Geek & Chocolate she really is!!! They all are
I just wanted to know, is her armor removable?
Yes, it’s removable.
Nice
Def not the MTM body - looking forward to your comparison vid
+kiwi241277 it's strange that they used a semi-M2M body.
Mattel makes some strange design choices when it comes to Barbie bodies... it's like you never know what you get... Which I find a bit annoying
my dream doll. 😍😍😍
is the dress removable ?
uu dd yeah its removable ifvyour nails are long
I love it
wow she's sooooooo cool
+Josh Matthews she really is!
when I first see her, she reminds me of Eva Longoria LOL :)
You spent about $45 on this doll?
+Carbo dia_Z Yes I did.
she cute i am not huge wonder woman fan i am huge barbie fan i kinda want see the new movie more batman and superman fan i think get her i think i might keep mine in box

Megan W i think they molded the chest plate because it's supposed to be amour, the skirt is actual fabric i think
I just want the cloak for the Hot Toys version
it is not from batman vs superman she has her own movie
+flowertart plush Did you even watch the video? I never said this doll was from Batman vs Superman.
