Haven't put a tractor in a ditch but walking with the girlfriend's family last week in Wales. She shouted a car was coming, I turned round to see how close it was, just as she stepped off the road to get out of the car's way and fell in a ditch. All the family and me laughed our heads off and even the local driving his car was laughing and stop to say it was the best thing he'd seen in ages 😂😂. She was fine, embarrassed but fine 🤣

I ditched a tractor on the golf course just after we took over. Flailing round the edges and the ditch was so full of scrub you couldn't see the edge. The Ford 1220 ended up, upside down on its cab roof with me inside. The doors fell off their "lift off" hinges and I managed to get out. The tractor was soon recovered and put back on its weels with the help of the 3 ton digger. It started up ok and I carried on flailing as though nothing had happened
Ok, there was smoke for a while but it was fine

Great video Olly! Crops are growing nicely now after the rain has finally arrived, I used to put the empty seed bags under the boom on the JCB until my boss said they were scratching the paint so don’t do that again!!. He was a grumpy old sod though. Fenland Rob
Not seedbags but I put vale nets under the boom when I'm bedding
Had that happen to me with a ride on mower more than once when I used to work for the local council, even dry grass had very little grip until you break the surface and hit soil
i put a jcb loadal in a ditch along side the hedge and couldn’t open the side door or rear window so used two way radio for assistance
When I drove past that field of wheat end of last week someone in a grey/silver pick up was in the field right in the middle near the trees.
The poor front axle on that Valtra N. Both loader and mulcher on, without rear ballast. Glad it turned out well tho and not tipped the tractor.

Growth is good cos got a bucket of mushrooms today fry em with a knob of butter n salt bobs yer uncle wet here till tomorrow dry for at least 2 weeks or so get our greening crop established maybe winter crops 10 days time bit early here though Southern Ireland

Yes done the same thing with a T173 with topper on front but there was only me so thank full that my merlo was built before seat cut out switch. 80%.

careful putting your empty seed bags under the boom! i once did it on an old merlo and one of the bags caught the drive shaft through one of the holes in the bottom... it wrapped itself around in about 0.5 seconds and ripped a few electrical wires and fuel hoses. was a right pain in the arse to fix and cut the bag off!
I put a seed bag under the boom once, thought would be good until it got wrapped around the drive shaft and torn off the steering hoses, wasn’t a good day 😂

when working on a farm i managed to drop a tractor straight into the slurry pit....the concrete ended and 1m drop into the sump hole - i didnt live that one down for months be safe from essex
My near miss ditch event was when I ploughed a field and whilst doing the headlands got as close to a steep banked ditch as I could.
A few weeks later my tyre tracks were still visible on the ditch bank that fell into the ditch!
The ditch was quite deep so if the bank had collapsed at the time it would definitely have resulted in a tractor turnover event.
P.S, I wasn't the first one to drive so close, it had been that close for years.

I try and avoid pointing out spelling and number mistakes in non-educational videos because I am conscious that the person making the content might have dyslexia or dyscalculia. I have friends and family who have one or both whose confidence over the years has been knocked by people constantly correcting them, often looking to point score.
As you have been proactive in talking about your dyslexia but have not actively asked us to point out where you might have used a different spelling, I would only ask for clarification if the point you were making was not clear - and if my memory serves me correctly, I have never had to ask for a clarification because your explanations (even the 'corrective' ones*) are always clear and to the point

i bet the poor guy s--t himself. i was topping last year and no body told me about a small ditch running through the centre of a field well i found in luckily i had the front end loader on and running close to the ground so when the one front wheel went down into the ditch the loader stopped it tipping over. and yes i s--t myself

What’s a headland?
Tom, it's a piece of the field at the top and bottom, used for turning the tractor and implement in, when working up and down the field.
If you mow a lawn up and down rather that round and round, the headlands are the areas at the ends where to turn around.

I am suprised that the Valtra couldn't get out by himself with Diff Lock on.
I had the same thought, diff on, a low range crawling gear with 4WD let the engine do the work and occasionally tap the right brake pedal. Or in the old days high revs, full steering lock, dump the clutch and brake hard on one side.
