- In today's video, we're going wine tasting in Mendoza! No trip to Argentina would have been complete without a detour to wine country, so, for our final week, we embarked on a vineyard hopping adventure. The first winery we visited was Bodegas Lopez, an established name in Mendoza’s winemaking scene and we ended up having a lot of fun!
We arrived at Bodegas Lopez at 10:00 am where we kicked off our full-day winery tour with breakfast - because you’ve got to get some food in your belly before you go wine tasting! They had set up a hearty Argentine breakfast featuring homemade bread, medialunas, pastries, jamón crudo, butter, berry jams, orange juice, tea and coffee. We enjoyed a leisurely breakfast and then when we couldn’t stuff ourselves with any more bread, we went downstairs and met up with our guide for the day, Nicolás.
During our guided tour of Bodegas López we visited the augers and milling machines, fermentation tanks, pneumatic presses, ageing areas and bottle storage area. We got to see some massive barrels - the largest of which held 57,600 litres of wine!
Next up, we walked a couple of blocks over to the champañera, where they specialize in sparkling wines. They need to produce this wine in a separate facility because the process is quite different and involves adding both sugar and yeast, something that cannot be done to their other wines. The cool thing about touring the champañera is that we got to see the only part of the bodega that still has vineyards on-site, since what was once countryside has developed into a city, so that means that the vineyards are a lot further out.
We had lunch at Rincón de López, the bodega’s on-site restaurant that features an ever-changing menu paired with their very own wines. We had beef empanadas paired with López Sauvignon Blanc, Ribeye steak with Casona López Malbec, and passionfruit cheesecake with Montchenot Extra Brut. It was a feast!
After lunch, we went down to the cellar to begin the wine tasting. We sampled a total of 4 wines including Rosé Montchenot, Casona Lopez Cabernet, Montchenot 2009, and Dulce Natural.
And that pretty sums up our day at Bodegas Lopez! We left feeling merry that afternoon and I pretty much napped in the taxi all the way back to the city. I couldn’t have asked for a better start to our week of wine tasting in Mendoza.

Hey guys! We are Samuel and Audrey, a travel vlogging couple from Canada. In this travel channel we share our travel and food vlogs while touring the world.
We had the privilege of traveling around Argentina for nearly 3 months from January- April 2019 on a trip covering a large section of the country.
We kicked things off with several days in Buenos Aires where we were joined by Audrey's parents eating and sightseeing around some of our favourite neighbourhoods in the city.
On our way back to Buenos Aires, we took the Tren Patagonia to Las Grutas before meeting up with Audrey's dad again.
To finish off our trip in Argentina, we spent more time in the capital and later Mendoza where we got to experience wine tourism to its fullest extent. Overall, we had an amazing time travelling around Argentina having only scratched the surface of this vast and diverse country.
Overall our Argentina travel series explores cities, small towns that are off-the-beaten-path, and scenic attractions with a strong emphasis on Argentina cuisine and local culture.

I loved Mendoza! As far as wine, im allergic to reds. I can drink whites and a little rosy. My favorite bottle is Santa margherita pinot grigio Italy. I also liked the local rosy wine of the rhone valley of France and the rosy wine in the merida area of Spain. Kind of nice in those 2 places because a glass pf wine is cheaper then a bottle of water.

Thank you for your videos from your Argentina trip last year. We had hoped to go to many of the places you visited, but health issues and now COVID-19 have postponed that indefinitely. At least we are getting to enjoy the trip thru you two. Will you be posting any more from this trip? Hope so! Also, we are becoming big fans of Audrey's dad. He is of comparable age to us, and it is nice to see how much he is still enjoying life to the fullest. Interesting. I’ve visited vineyards in the Rioja region of Spain and I love to see vines growing. I’ve seen commercial vineyards in France Spain Portugal Italy Germany and even Switzerland. Was lucky once to visit a vineyard in the north island of New Zealand. However it would be a dream to visit Mendoza in Argentina. I would fully enjoy this trip. I found it interesting to hear the history of the original founder from Malaga I. Spain. Seems unusual to hear of a Spanish immigrant and not Italian. Great stuff. If the world ever gets back to normal would love to visit this region or Argentina. Here’s hoping. Lovely video. I’m jealous.

Ya he visto este video en español pero revisando la historia que presentaron y para agregar un dato la familia López son los mismos que eran dueños de una cadena bien conocida de supermercados en la Provincia de Mendoza llamados "Metro" que tuvieron su mayor expansión en los 90s llegando a tener un hipermercado en el centro además de los que ya existían lamentablemente al fin del milenio 2000 y con la posterior crisis del 2001 no pudieron seguir en ese negocio vendiéndolos a la competencia, bueno más o menos en el tiempo que uds. estaban por irse del país...¡¡Saludos....los estamos siguiendo!!

Ahhh, he calls him 'my son' because my dad has 3 daughters and Togo is the only boy in the house. He named his dog Togo was named after a famous sled dog who completed a 700-mile run to Nome, Alaska to deliver a serum during the diphtheria outbreak of 1925. My dad has always loved that story so that's how our Togo got his name. A movie about Togo came out last year if you're looking for something to watch - it's a beautiful story. Togo says woof woof. 🐾😊

I like you guys and i'm watching all your videos but in my opinion you are loosing subscribers and the views just because your father is appearing in almost all your videos. He is just fine but i think it is time for him to start his own channel, he will find his public or not...
