Roc Marci is a fucking genius. I don't mean that in a hyperbolic way. I actually think he has a genius-level intelligence. His mind seems to work in totally angular patterns, abstract thought connections, sublime artistic vision. To have Alc, a bona fide legend himself, side by side? It's bound to be nuts.
I can talk a lot about this song and this style in general. Here both Alc and Roc had mastered their crafts, bringing the best out of each other. The beat is so smooth, elegant, gangsta and hard at the same time, while Roc's rhyming is immaculate. If you're into rhyme schemes you'll see that the lyrics are weird to decipher. That's done on purpose and it creates a different atmosphere, instead of the usual lyrical miracle. Listen closely at 1:14 Roc is ending his rhymes with "O's" and "I's" and is constantly changing between them creating a beautiful contrast, something that Eminem does a lot, tho Roc is more poetic in his approach. And just as you're getting involved with it, the beat switches smoothly, almost uncatchable. Alc really out did himself again, bringing something new to the table. Usually those beats are either the piano part or the singing part, Alc combines them which works perfectly. Not to mention Roc's delivery, rapping on a normal rap beat is one thing, rapping on a beat with no drums and confusing piano notes coming from everywhere is hard and he did an amazing job. That's all to it. The epitome of rap, rhythm and poetry.

Alc was already a legend but I also believed he was influenced and pushed by Roc. They've done plenty of work together so I always just assumed that Roc learned some things from Alc, and Roc inspired Alc because I mean cmon, Roc has earned legend status even if only few know.
