  • The St. Augustine Beach pier is closed for fishing because the pier is surrounded by sand, and doesn’t even reach the ocean.

      Not many hurricanes go through that area. So it should be fine.

    Why not plant appropriate vegetation in row segments which will help keep the sand somewhat in place?

    Well you can't drop your fishing line from the peer any more to catch a fish but if you are single there is plenty of fish in the sea. So, go ahead and drop a line from the peer you never know.

    With all the shark attacks, they really should stop fishing on the peers. You’re literally just chumming the sharks where people hang out. It’s really the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard, I never hang out by any pier.

    • @jameshostetter8869
      @jameshostetter8869 16 днів тому +1

      True,but sharks follow Live bait pods along the beach,and feed on them,the recent shark attacks in the panhandle,were from people swimming near or at Live bait pods ( minnows,pogies,or ribbons,there was no pier near the predatory attacks.
