I am not impressed with Beatport DJ. I still prefer to use Rekordbox with my Pioneer controller. I am impressed with the streaming service. The way I see it is an addition and another backup in case there is a track that I don't have in my library or say I want to do a Minimal set but need to listen to tracks of that genre. You can listen to the full tracks before you either buy it outright or play straight from the Beatport library. I don't see streaming services as a replacement for record pools or buying music for your library. I see it as another tool to get your music faster. Since I play live stream most of the time, this would be a good tool to have.
It's a great idea! I'm glad that the company that built a streaming service for DJs and is also paying the artists for their music developed this type of software!
Calling it a game changer is not accurate. Yes we have Star link and broadband is almost everywhere but I would be willing to bet that more than half of serious DJ's are going to be more content with the actual downloaded files safely on their USB stick. They have basically added an integrated controller so DJ's can mix/sample tracks by streaming them from the cloud. Where it does stick out is that is provides a method for DJ's to sample what they buy before they spend money on tracks they realize later they should not have bought. This helps not only the customers of Beatport buy what they want but will very potentially increase Beatport sales.
what would you recommend for someone that has never DJ'd tho? I havent even gotten into that workflow of buying songs and putting them on a usb so like, doesn't this service give me way less hassle to pick up?
I would consider the ability to access a library of music built FOR DJs in particular creating a DJ software that does not have any additional cost and can be accessed on any computer with a internet connection pretty game changing.
@@PDot hope so! This makes things easier in case you forget your laptop at the club or party. You can use the club’s laptop and use your Beatsource playlist online and you can keep the party going.
It looks like every other Major Dj Software? Erm.......NO......it doesn't! It doesn't AT ALL! It's DOGSHIT! Doesn't support High-end Pioneer Controllers and after spending a good while Mapping my controller, I had to restart because for some reason the audio won't play. Custom mappings DON'T SAVE WITH YOUR ACCOUNT!! It's a PERFECT way to steer you away from BeatPort! Beatport being a place for REAL DJ's to buy music they can play! Totally got this wrong!
I'm still on the fence about djing with a subscription. Yes it has some convenience but relying on internet connection makes me nervous.
What about recording..it's possible?
Thanks man for the review, we can really see that you are excited about it! really nice energy!
This gonna change the game! you can bring your playlist everwhere at moments notice! this is sick!
Yes! I'm so excited for Beatsource to get this feature as well!

Technology is so crazy right?
@@PDot yes sir,
Great video thanks dude.
You know what’s funny... I pitched this very same idea to UA-cam since everyone uses UA-cam. O well... guess know one will believe me.

@@PDot I agree. It’s not personal. It’s just that I heard that about a million times about other things.
