ABC to vote on rule changes: 12-6 elbow allowance, new grounded fighter definition
The Association of Boxing Commissions and Combative Sports (ABC) holds its yearly conference in Louisville, Ky., beginning Monday, with its annual rule vote scheduled for Wednesday. Two proposed rule changes are on the agenda. The first proposed change is the potential removal of the rule prohibiting the linear downward “12-6 elbow.” This would be massive and is long overdue. The second proposal, also long overdue, is a change in the language regarding what qualifies as a grounded fighter. Laura Sanko mentioned during the last fight night card that the change for the grounded opponent will be implemented this year, requiring a knee or elbow to be on the ground, not just a hand or a palm, or a fingertip.

Nick Diaz vs. Vicente Luque scrapped from UFC Abu Dhabi, new co-main event announced
Diaz’s fight against Vicente Luque has been pulled from the upcoming UFC Abu Dhabi card on Aug. 3 due to “travel issues,” although it’s unclear which fighter was actually affected. The news was announced during the UFC Vegas 94 broadcast on Saturday. The hope is to re-book the fight between Luque and Diaz at a later date, but nothing has been determined yet. With Diaz vs. Luque off, a new co-main event was announced for the card as Shara Magomedov takes on Michal Oleksiejczuk in a middleweight bout.

Former UFC bantamweight champion Sterling made his 145-pound debut at UFC 300, dominating Calvin Kattar, and now faces a tough test against the undefeated Movsar Evloev.

Conor McGregor fires Mike Perry from BKFC following loss to Jake Paul
The fight resulted in a one-sided affair. Paul was able to knock down Perry in both of the opening rounds, the second of which appeared to hurt ‘Platinum’ badly. Although Perry arguably clawed back to win round three, Paul ultimately stormed back in round four with another dominant three-minute showing. Finally, in round six, ‘The Problem Child’ knocked down ‘Platinum’ for the third and last time as the bout was quickly waved off. Official Result: Jake Paul def. Mike Perry via TKO in Round 6.
