Another tip for a dividend investor: order your bills by amount and your first goal is to get enough dividend investment income to cover your cheapest bill for the year. For myself, that was my phone bill. But now internet and some other bills are covered as well. It's a great way to always have an achievable goal to work towards.
During the lockdown of the Pandemic in 2020 I was bored shitless so I started doing some research into the stock market (being green and never trading before) I started to invest when the market was so low. Now 4 years later I have a Portfolio of $265K with around $13K of dividends per year. Yes I've made some bad decisions and listened to people that perhaps I shouldn't have, but all in all I am very happy with my journey so far.
Excellent advice! At $1k / month, that is still about 7 - 8 yrs worth of steady investing effort to break the $100k. Set your mind for the journey. As they say, the best time to start investing was 10yrs ago. The second best time is now. (Wish I’d started 10yrs ago though!!)
I learned a good lesson from this video, I was doing this mistake of buying shares when I have money without considering the trading cost. Never thought it through before. Thank you so much for this tip Tracey!!!
I love your new vibe/look and the background updates. Well, "new" is relative, as I haven't watched in a while, but very refreshing! Great content, as always :)
to be honest , My portfolio for the past 30 years has always been self managed and I own 3 shares of Berkshire Hathaway Class A stock (BRK:A) which I bought in at about $17,000 during the mid 90s, I’m currently liquidating some of these positions to incoporate new Gen. Stocks,
in 2021 I bought in on NVDA hesistantly under my fin advisor; btc and sol just at the right time to make over 200%. It's surprising how much of the market is not discussed or explored with YT 'gurus'. I guess 20 years of experience with a series 6 & 7 is something to give for how accurate the prediction have been.
Professionals could make a really big difference in investing, and I think everyone should have one. There are aspects of market trend that is difficult for the untrained eyes to see. I have made more than 350% through semiconductor stocks under my estateplanner(fa) by alternative investing. The portfolio comes with perks as well in terms of travel and liquidity.
Not asking to be nosey, but you mentioned you saw dividend returns of 4000 a month, so 1000 a week. Thats like my dream goal. and im trying to be crystal clear on what that looks like. Would you mind telling me how much invested i need for that goal?
I’m waiting on the stock market crash coming soon so I can pick up the dividend paying shares for a hefty discount. I’m in physical gold and silver at the moment with a couple of excellent cryptos thrown in which have just had a jump up over the last two months which is indicative of trouble ahead for the stock and bond markets. I like to buy things when they are cheep and unwanted and ride them to the top and then swap them over for another distressed asset. I believe it’s called cycle trading. Thanks for your video, I enjoy listening and learning about my next move.
took me 6 years to get my daughters portfolio to 80k , it then took the market around 3months to go up to 115k at todays market price . i still add $200 weekly though
Hi Tracey, great channel by the way. Im interested in ETF's however im concern on the trading volume. For example if i invest a 6 figure sum and for whatever reason i need to sell. will it be an easy stock to sell? single stocks have 1million or 3million plus trading volume so i feel confident in tinking there will be buyers out there. whats your view?
How does the dividend reinvesting scheme work? Don’t they charge a fee when it automatically purchases the stock? Aren’t I better off taking the dividend and growing it to $1000 in a good savings account then paying transaction fee, rather than auto-reinvesting my $15 dividend through the scheme and still paying a transaction fee on that small amount? Or have I got this wrong?
You don't get charged fees through a dividend reinvestment scheme, that's what makes it attractive. Although saving up and choosing which companies to invest in yourself is valid as well. Good luck!
hi I’m 20 and have an investment property that has a mortgage with a 6.44% interest rate should I save all my money in my offset and pay down the loan or should I start investing in the stock market thanks for all responses

300k in two years wow you must be rich. To save 12,500 every month in today's economy is unheard of.
Excellent advice!

Absolutely! It takes time but it is achievable 😊

How’s it going for you? Hope you got into the stock business, it’s been quite rewarding this past months 😊
Note that using a dividend reinvestment plan means you avoid those brokerage fees you mentioned.
yes!
Hi Tracey. My daughter likes your videos.
Do a video of top EPS ASX 50
Almost there 🎉
A well made video.
Listen to the Ramsey show get out of debt first 👍🤔😉😃
I love you❤❤
Yes start with a 200k portfolio
who are you and what makes you in any way qualified to lecture me on the financial markets?
No one said you have to listen to her. She has helped so many with her method.
This method has helped me retire early. So I can't complain.
Just a question.....how much dividend you can get for 500000 portfolio..........
Aim for around 5% so that's about 25k (plus tax benefits because of the franking)
