I just listened to this the other night on my deck, sipping a good scotch and remembering the days of my youth when I listened to this over and over to ... different refreshment. Those days of abusing myself are over, but my love for Yes and this entire double album has not waned. I know this music as if it knows me.
I often wonder what a 14 year old kid would think of this music today. Simpler times and all we had was a record player and time. I am glad I was there in the moment. No real distractions but home work, and yard work. 😎
By the time I first listened to this album when I was 14 I've already listened to some of their work, but this time it was different in the totality of it. It certainly went beyond CTTE, so I didn't know what to make of it but the more I listened to the album the more it came together, the more it made sense to me. And that, folks, is when I became addicted to Yes for the rest of my life.
The album from which this tune is from is absolute brilliance from all of the five masterminds involved . A true Yes masterpiece, artistically as well.

I love these very imaginative takes on the music of Yes. I suppose it's a stretch but I like to think this medium had existed back then this is very close to what we would have gotten from the band. I applaud the creator of this video truly a wonderful job Edit: I bought this album the day it came out and rushed home and listen to the entire thing straight through. It was so amazing. I'm not going to say I loved it all that first listen, however what is it 50 years now? I'm still listening still Loving
tales from topographic oceans and relayer are my favourite YES albums.... close to the edge was a stepping stone to the 'big' songs.... non-stop magic from the yes album to drama.....
I really like how you differentiated the frequencies and how you added depth and beauty to the different instrumental layers. I celebrate your work with joy.
I liked Yes from the first time I heard them until the rights for the band were sold / licensed to (I don't know which) non-original members. The only Yes tunes I listen to had Jon Anderson on Vocals. Without him, it ain't Yes. That having been said, I didn't much care for the Tale of Topographic Oceans album. I always say it's sad when the cover art is better than the album...
No idea why the first 1minute and 7seconds were left off the original pressing. It makes the song even more perfect than it is/was, if that's even possible. The limits of vinyl/length at the time, perhaps?

A better effect for the visual is not snapping into each new image, but rather fade from one into the other; providing a seamless and appealing view of the imagery.
Yes I have started fading it on my later videos, your advice is welcome. But for this video I have to remake it from scratch and I have deleted the original artworks. I found that if the snapping between images is at the regular rate the eye and brain anticipate it and makes it an easier watch. So this video is a storyboard. They make these before making a movie in Hollywood for example. When the AI technology allows or when I can find the right software I will make a proper video if it is possible for me.

This takes me back to when Life and The World seemed So Much Simpler and Truer.
Well we all get older and see the World through very different eyes than our younger, simpler and less experienced selves did. Peace
