Wireless charging an iPhone 8 in a 2016 Chevy Silverado

I replace the factory wireless charger, that is not compatible with the iPhone 8 or iPhone X, with a charger that works. iPhone hack!

I just did this mod in my 2017 truck. Unfortunately it does not work with 8 Plus Iphone. The phone is too wide to fit in the rubber tray. :(

Nope, unless you use a wireless charging case or something, I have never tried that.

You should check the voltages on the factory harness. If you are lucky, 5V will already be there. If not, you can wire in a step down converter to the USB cable:

I'd like to do a totally hard wired upgrade and keep the USB port free.

Factory upgraded armrest part is $110, but I may try this in the wife's Denali

You can buy a new module comes with pigtail on line from any GM parts
