How you expand shape bu selecting bottom dots? When I select them and want to shrink they both go to the one dircetion. In the first shape.
use the scale tool and hold shift (pc) as you drag. (i know this is an old question, but i was looking for same answer.)

It's simple! click on the bottom anchor point while holding ALT key. Set the angle on the dialog box and click OK. Then press CTRL+D.

It looked like he deleted what he had originally and shifted the lines loser together and duplicated the new lines and petals..
He brought the lines up by selecting them all > right click > arrange > bring to front
