NIce done Ohno! Me connecting 2 bases at 850+ meters had to pay 15 iron per steel wire. Now it's only 10 (reduced by 5). (there is a video on my channel). Include the steel plates for the platforms and the cars and add everything you need for bolts and adv parts (i also had to upgrate walls at my two outposts)... Thats a huge amound of iron even if it's reduced by CG! 3 pairs of platforms, 3 cars, 2X4 floor outposts, 800 wires, every outpost need bcu and a solar panel. One of my outposts had to have a generator (+6 solars) and 2500 power storage (i turned that one to a mining outpost!!!!!!! You need power to establish a connection between 2 outposts and it's equal to distanceX10. So in my case the two outpost had a 220m distance and the connection asked for 2200 power. 1 wire is about 1.1 meters. For a connection at 500m you need aprox 450 wire. PS: you can craft the mass fabricator with half power. Recycler demands a power storage before you start crafting it. At the begining of a game the fabricator now is far more better choice. Craft a fabricator right after the generator and you can use it. Recycler can be crafter after 10-15 ingame days.
Yeah... it really is a lot of resources to get a long distance cable car completed. I have my work cut out for me! LOL! That all sounds like an impressive setup though, nicely done :) Honestly, I still lean towards the recycler but I can't outright dismiss the fabricator like I used to. And, as you say, you can get access to the fabricator earlier than the recycler. Plenty of things going for it now! Thank you :)

The glass triangle is to match with the triangle foundation and wood triangle ceiling (floor). Previously, if you built something with those wooden triangle pieces, but wanted a glass ceiling, there was no glass triangle to use.
I love the bases as always you have had theses for many updates . I love the nine mill top feed is classic of a German firearm from the time. Some had a wooden case that could be hooked on the handle and used as a stock. That fire arm is from the late 1880s to all they being used till the forties. There were various calibers . I have one in my collection. Mine is a 32 caliber

What a first rate Christmas present from CG! My immediate thought was that you could (nay, should!) link the new base and bridge base, which it looks like is on your radar already. I was going to comment last video when things went "Not good" but now CG went and threw a monkey wrench into it. I was going to say do an extraction run on all 3 bases and when you get to the bridge base convert the drills to potassium. Buuuut now iron came back into focus and kills that brilliant idea. Would have fixed the fertilizer problem for a long time (harvest every 3-4 runs at the bridge). CG has a knack for messing things up. But now we get more Lava Cave runs!!!!! More please!!!!!

And maybe you can consider finding sweetspot to connect both outposts from main base... maybe corner of a main base and extend one outpost by little... idk how much is 26m in game. Happy holidays.

I can extend the BCU bubble a bit to make it work and I think leveraging the existing obsidian base just makes sense. I will need to crank up its power regardless so might as well use it ;)

That is called a stripper clip for the new pistol. The rare occasion where it is a clip. These are loaded beforehand and usually require a stripper clip spoon to load, but some guns have the tab on them. A magazine is one that contains the rounds/ammo/shells that you insert. Your videos are awesome ohno. I come here everytime you release a subsistence video. And a few other series, too. i love the medieval dynasty one, too.

Hello Ohno. A nice add-on from CG is (because of your dislike of gathering wood) the fallen logs, right? LOL Like you mentioned in other comments is the fact that we each can make the decision of what we want to add to our game. So far I have not added the SUV into my game (my choice). The new items added such as the Red 9, I don't know if I will add. I don't know if I will add the double barrel shotgun or lever action rifle. However, I may change my mind at a later date. Who knows. :) CG has added a lot of new things to the game with this update. He's an amazing DEV and I really admire him. He has put a lot of effort into this game and I for one love it. The wire's curve is a nightmare. There where you point for your car to go there are some huge rock formation. This terrain probably will require at least 4-5 floors up (in both sides). Perhaps (after you make some tests using simple stairs) it will be better to make the elevator going up and on the top build a 2X2 floor and attach the car platform there. Just a thought!
Yep, I suspected I would have to do some vertical building once I saw that I didn't have line of sight to the obsidian base. I'm thinking it makes sense to just extend the elevator up a few stories. Fortunately CG made the elevator rails a bit cheaper. I might just skip the simple stairs and go straight to the elevator ;)
Good thing you've been playing this game for years and haven't started over yet and have all those ingredients stored up, Ohno. This is getting expensive. LOL I would hate to be a new player this late in the life of Subsistence. I guess you're going to be building the pistol because why not. It has to be field tested. CG, don't mess with Ruprecht. He's a unique NPC. I think that hunter shot his friend before you shot him. Oops.
And that right there is one of the reasons I haven't started a new season. Most of the updates for the game are very much in the "end game" realm so you need an end game profile to even look at them. it's what keeps me interested to be honest :)
With the release of the Red9 Pistol, I had a thought, do people ever fully upgrade weapons?? By fully upgrade i mean maxing the weapon's damage, relode speed and ammo capacity upgrades
I believe some people do but I tend not to. I have a few reasons why. Firstly, the cost of repair scales with how much you upgrade. If I upgrade too much then I start to think about that before using something which kind of detracts from the fun. The second, and this is a big one, is that I often like to make the fights more interesting by using a lower powered weapon. When I go into a rogue camp using a level 2 pistol or a bow then it is because I want to make the fight a bit more even. For pilots I go top tier because they really are that dangerous. You can tell when I switch from playing around to extermination when I just go for the most powerful thing in my toolbar ;) Lastly, some weapons just don't need the upgrade. For example, I think the double barrel is perfect without any upgrades ;)
They are the same reasons why i dont upgrade weapons beyond just doing the damage. I usually only upgrade the 9mm pistol and recurve bow and rarely one of the rifles, the rest i find are good as they are for my play style.
I was wondering about that. Most likely I will need to do some fiddling about with the actual locations of the cable car platforms. I'm thinking an elevator extension on the lake base is in order too ;)
They also have infinite ammo. I haven't made my own judgment with the new sway mechanic yet. I want to see how it plays out when going after rogues and hunters first :)
The red 9 pistol is utterly Asinine. The site picture is absolutely Horrible. coldgames put it in the game just because he likes to style. In my opinion, it's but ugly, and does not go in the game.
I think it is quite reasonable to not like something in the game but I see no reason ColdGames can't put items in that he really likes. In the end you choose what you build and use so it's all good :)

LOL Like you mentioned in other comments is the fact that we each can make the decision of what we want to add to our game. So far I have not added the SUV into my game (my choice). The new items added such as the Red 9, I don't know if I will add. I don't know if I will add the double barrel shotgun or lever action rifle. However, I may change my mind at a later date. Who knows. :) CG has added a lot of new things to the game with this update. He's an amazing DEV and I really admire him. He has put a lot of effort into this game and I for one love it. That was my understanding as well but I'm not well versed enough to make definitive statements ;)
The wire's curve is a nightmare. There where you point for your car to go there are some huge rock formation. This terrain probably will require at least 4-5 floors up (in both sides). Perhaps (after you make some tests using simple stairs) it will be better to make the elevator going up and on the top build a 2X2 floor and attach the car platform there. Just a thought!
Yep, I suspected I would have to do some vertical building once I saw that I didn't have line of sight to the obsidian base. I'm thinking it makes sense to just extend the elevator up a few stories. Fortunately CG made the elevator rails a bit cheaper. I might just skip the simple stairs and go straight to the elevator ;)
Good thing you've been playing this game for years and haven't started over yet and have all those ingredients stored up, Ohno. This is getting expensive. LOL I would hate to be a new player this late in the life of Subsistence. I guess you're going to be building the pistol because why not. It has to be field tested. CG, don't mess with Ruprecht. He's a unique NPC. I think that hunter shot his friend before you shot him. Oops.
And that right there is one of the reasons I haven't started a new season. Most of the updates for the game are very much in the "end game" realm so you need an end game profile to even look at them. it's what keeps me interested to be honest :)
With the release of the Red9 Pistol, I had a thought, do people ever fully upgrade weapons?? By fully upgrade i mean maxing the weapon's damage, relode speed and ammo capacity upgrades
I believe some people do but I tend not to. I have a few reasons why.
Firstly, the cost of repair scales with how much you upgrade. If I upgrade too much then I start to think about that before using something which kind of detracts from the fun.
The second, and this is a big one, is that I often like to make the fights more interesting by using a lower powered weapon. When I go into a rogue camp using a level 2 pistol or a bow then it is because I want to make the fight a bit more even. For pilots I go top tier because they really are that dangerous. You can tell when I switch from playing around to extermination when I just go for the most powerful thing in my toolbar ;)
Lastly, some weapons just don't need the upgrade. For example, I think the double barrel is perfect without any upgrades ;)
They are the same reasons why i dont upgrade weapons beyond just doing the damage. I usually only upgrade the 9mm pistol and recurve bow and rarely one of the rifles, the rest i find are good as they are for my play style.
the line from one platfor to the other has to be free of trees and rocks, they will block the lines
I was wondering about that. Most likely I will need to do some fiddling about with the actual locations of the cable car platforms. I'm thinking an elevator extension on the lake base is in order too ;)

Something else that is but f****** stupid is coldgames added weapon sway, which is b******* because the hunters have near 100% accuracy.
They also have infinite ammo. I haven't made my own judgment with the new sway mechanic yet. I want to see how it plays out when going after rogues and hunters first :)
The red 9 pistol is utterly Asinine. The site picture is absolutely Horrible. coldgames put it in the game just because he likes to style. In my opinion, it's but ugly, and does not go in the game.
I think it is quite reasonable to not like something in the game but I see no reason ColdGames can't put items in that he really likes. In the end you choose what you build and use so it's all good :)
