Thanks buddy. Finally noise that I can use .This is exactly why I couldn't drive a train at night.....anybody who can is superhuman.......my eyes would be slamming shut. And the old rock on the dead man's pedal joke is stupid and dangerous.

The alerter keeps you awake. If you don't manipulate the controls for 20 seconds, a timer goes off and you have to reset it. If you don't, the train goes into emergency. Whenever the engineer has to take a leak, he'll have me go over to the control stand to keep it reset for him. If he let's it go off more than 5-8 seconds, I'll hollar at him to make sure he's awake. I hired on with NS 2 years ago. Most times you get called for a train, you're tired AF, but you get used to it after awhile.
