Props to you guys. You cut through all the BS out there and tell it how you measured it - not just how you think. I discovered DD by blowing up high-res photos of Baja Trophy Trucks, figuring they weren't screwing around - just the BEST. Sure enough, the fist 5 I looked had Diode Dynamic logos visible on their lights. Unless I'm dead broke, why would I buy anything else? And I'm an honest-to-God, independent customer from California, not a troll for DD.
@@necroimages These are designed with our TIR (total internal reflection) optics. This means that the fog's lens is also the optic, collecting all light and shining it a focused direction. Because of this, you'll have very almost no wasted light, and with proper aim, you won't have any glare!
Great comparison! It would be interesting to see the power draw of each light as well (volts and amps) as when comparing the candela rating it’s based on the intensity of the light which boils down to the power consumption. Great video!
I just installed the Diode Dynamics SS3 Fog Lights “Pro” level in the yellow/amber color. These were an upgrade from my D.D-SLF fog light in yellow. I am so impressed with the SS3 fog lights. The quality of the housing and light output exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend them!

I really liked how you compared all lights from the OEM right up to the SS3 Pro. My question is, will the SS3 LED Pod cover fit on the SS3 SAE / DOT Type B Fog Light Kit (DDSS3B)? Is it because the openings too small in the bumper and / or that the cover clips to the exterior of the light? I ordered some Baja Designs S2 Pro but have since cancelled that order and I am ordering the SS3 SAE Fog Lights in yellow
Hi there! Thank you so much for your support and kind words. Unfortunately, our SS3 Covers will not work on the Type B Kit because of the bezel on the SS3 Fog Pods. These are designed to create a nice flush look on the vehicle they are being installed on, and because of this, the bezel of the pod protrudes away from the lens. The SS3 Covers will not fit over this because the face of the pod is not flush. Sorry about that!
Love my ss3 pro amber for our 2018 Sequoia. Got the sport version for our 2010 rav4 also. Love them both. Best led fog, best color, best light coverage. You cant get any better for the price and quality than diode dynamics.

Do you guys which fog light would fit my HRV 2016? It’s an oval shape but I wanna change it to a projector lense. Because I don’t like the bleed out through the side

Ok I saved a lot of money on a new 4x4 WT. A2019 Colorado Crew Cab 4x4, V6, with every option available on a WT trim level package. Has everything I need, but is lacking in a couple areas, fog light one of them. I have already taken care of the lousy reflector type headlights, by adding MORIMOTO 2Stroke LED H11, that come adjustable within the stock housing, that helps a lot at preventing oncoming glare and blinding oncoming drivers, I have yet to have anyone flash their high beams as me! I adjusted them so they would not blind me sitting in an oncoming car, then lowered them another half turn of the screw, that’s night and day different from the stock halogen. The high beams I went all the way with Flamethrowers in 9005, that are awesome! Especially together with the low beams. However I still have a hard time on dark rainy nights, seeing into corners and driveways. So I need fog lights. I believe all I have to do is take the plastic bumper filler out and buy a stock fog light bezel, after I plug in a stock type housing. There’s also an issue I’ve discovered that because of the CANBUS factory wiring, if I go with a factory kit, I’ll need to have them programmed? Or just go with a hot lead an separate switch? Still not sure. I’d love to talk to someone who knows, before I spend money unnecessarily! But I love the truck! I have OnStar 4 G LTE WIFI with a 7” touch screen and decent sound system with Apple Car Play. I also installed a Bilstein 5100 struts/shocks setup, set at 1.9” front lift, that’s just about level. I could have gone 2.25”, but I do need to tow my 26’, 4,400-6,400 travel trailer, nice an level, that I’m able to with the Fastway E2 Weight Distribution Hitch, that keeps everything nice and level, at the heaviest I’ve ever been on a scale, at 10,970 CGVW. That is with my wife, two gods, all the stuff we need to camp, my 275 lb Mobility Scooter an45 lb. ramps in the bed. That’s able to go down the road with comfort and control, with confidence and enough power to maintain the speed limits and pass if need be!

@@diodedynamics thanks but that is the issue, the Chevy WT has no fog lights! Oh behind a filler trim panel the bumper has the placement holes the fog light housing plugs in to mount, with the same slots around the edges to use a stock fog light bezel. But there are NO wires, or switch in the cab!
@@kevinvoyer5053 That's interesting. So, it sounds like you can install fog lights using the factory bezel, but you will need to use a universal wiring harness on an independent switch. Unless, of course, you want to piece together a factory set up by installing a factory fog light harness and sourcing the factory controls.
@@diodedynamics Yes everything is available over the GM parts counter, or on EBay, that’s reasonably priced. But that’s the stock halogen setup. That I had on my last Z71 Colorado, that helped in fog, but especially entertaining sharp turns. But now if I must go all through the expense and effort, I might as well get the brights, widest I can! Within reason!

It seems that simply installing a guard that blocks half the light to keep the pattern streetable makes them less efficient. Makes sense. Better to have the reflector itself or even a lense that achieves a similar pattern is much preferable.
