Ahora está disponible para Windows !!! Me llegó hoy y ya lo probé . Funciona perfecto
Thank you so much for your video!
I use localWp running off a external ssd.
Wanted to change path of local sites folder. The only way i found to do it was to export each site & re install in new location.
I wish there was a easy way to export entire local sites to new location in few clicks.
Wondering if this app can add that feature of complete export n import
This is nice, but Local WP is significantly faster. Wordpress Studio felt like I was working on a remote server. Local WP was blazing fast.
SSL? No quick access to the DB?
I'll stick with Local
What I would like, so much to see in such a tool, is a way to push only the changes to a site. It's always so much work to copy only changes.
Does anyone know a practical option?
Looks very much like it’s trying to be a LocalWP clone, but with less of LocalWP’s features. For me personally, I like being able to manually choose the web server and database server to more closely match my production environment, which this doesn’t seem to offer. Also completely agree about “admin” being the username and not being able to change it. It is a terrible idea for anyone who is even remotely security conscious (which should be everyone really 😁) - I can’t understand why the developer would do this.
Hello, I tested and the admin can be easily solved by creating a new administrator, the data is then as you choose. It is true that the default name admin is not a suitable choice.
Sticking with MAMP as this is too simplistic for serious use in dveloping to push to a hosting site.
First thing I noticed is that embeds from UA-cam, Vimeo, Soundcloud, etc. don't work which is a bewildering omission!
Is possible to test the email option with that?
Not that I saw in testing, no.
And what about exporting the final site? It is possible to export the database?
No, exporting doesn't seem possible from my initial tests.
Can you export the site with the database using localbyflywheel ???
Yes. I tested it yesterday using WPVivid Backup & Migration free. Worked like a charm.
@@WPTuts Thanks Paul for your time, your rock!
It's sad that it don't work with Bricks. I tried to install the new one and the older version, and it failed.
Hi, the bricks work fine for me, the only caveat is that the brick installation recommends https, but the bricks work for me.
@@suchomil1 It is so strange. WordPress tells me, whenever I want to install Bricks that: "The package could not be installed. No valid plugins were found. Plugin installation failed." I run on Macbook Pro 2023
It seems like carbon copy of Local by Flywheel software.
But not as good! ;)
@@WPTuts Exactly, not even close to as good. This thing is really slow. Local WP is lighting fast.
Why not just wamp or xampp for windows and mamp for mac they are free idk really for mac. Is tjere really a benefit to using these softwares for development?
@@justindouglas3659 Yeah! It's specific to wordpress where other softwares are tailored to use other appications as well
@@justindouglas3659 Probably just saving a bit of time. You don't need to create a database, copy files to a new directory, connect it with wp-config, and set up WP. But anyway, these things take like 5 min. I feel it's for users who don't have much experience with setting up local environment. It's a kind of one-click WP installation that hostings provide but in a local environment.
