Another banger update, keep it up! Worlds NA comes out today so there's lots of hype and progress to be made over here with hopefully better server connections. As someone looking to make their own MMO game on Worlds, your videos have been a great help and inspiration towards my own project planning!
Hey man! Great work as always! I hope you'll wait with launching this to the public after the EU people are able to play so it's fair for the EU people out there. Take your time to focus a lot on the look and feel of the combat and movement and how mobs react to it, I noticed that this is one of the most important aspects when people criticize Artale for example and thus won't play it further. In terms of % done, I'm curious.. how far would you say you are to a public launch?
I don't expect to do a public launch before a hard global release happens so I wouldn't worry about this launching before EU players have access to worlds. I'm approaching the point now where I'm preparing to open unstable/test worlds so maybe 75% of the way there. It's mostly a matter of polishing capabilities and testing everything until I feel comfortable doing a official/stable release.
Any way you could ever make a tutorial of any of these? Such as how to make multiple skills and assign them to keys and whatnot, including their stats for damage?
Probably not. I don't want to take time away from my current projects to do that sort of thing right now. Also there are smarter people over in the official MSW discord that could do the topic more justice and give you some ideas on how to approach these sort of things.

Man I cannot find content about creating games in worlds on youtube, this might be a demanding niche for you to explore. I wanted to try and create something myself because I have a bunch of ideias, but i'm not a very good programmer, so I wanted to ask you, how intuitive is the interface to program the mechanics? Do they have some presets of configs for us to tweak or you have to manually code everything?
I would recommend going through the official MSW tutorials to get a feel for how the editor works. You will have to do some level of coding unless you just want to make a simple hangout/platforming map or if there is a "remake" world you want to make tweaks to.
Random question for you.. I know it's all hypothetical.. And I know you got a lot do work to do just on vic Island yet but... Would you ever consider adding an achievement system? It's one of the things about current gms I like and I wondered if anything like that has ever appealed to you.
I've thought about adding a sort of explorer's journal system that would sort of fill this niche. I consider it to be a bit custom so I would probably first launch it and any other custom stuff like it in another world, separate from the 'vanilla' world.

Making all of Victoria Island would probably be the biggest remaining effort, since that includes adding all the maps/npcs/quests/mobs/items. None of that has been done yet as I've primarily been working on gameplay systems rather than content. Before that, I also want to redo Maple Island to mirror an earlier version than what I initially built nearly a year ago.
@@chillen_dev nice, listen to me, I believe this project is important to you and is something you want to do yourself, and I agree with that. but if you need help doing slow and boring things like transcribing text, taking photos of maps or anything that helps you focus more on the important part, the community will help you with that, I believe everyone here would make everything possible to make your work as pleasant as possible.
I don't know about those formats, but I've seen people just drag and drop full map renders as a single sprite so that would significantly speed things up compared to manually placing tiles and objects, especially if you had your own tool for building and generating renders yourself.
So I was just curious. MSW just came out with artale being the first osms recreation available. I noticed that base attacks and some skills felt weirdly off with the hit registration compared to the modern game or private server client if that makes sense. I'm wondering if you came across this issue with implementing combat?
The MSW default hit logic doesn't feel great if you just use it as is, so I imagine there will be some variance depending on how creators decide to implement their own hit detection & feedback.

Do you know if its possible to import and parse map data from wz/xml? I find it kinda hard to believe maple lands remade all the maps by hand.

There aren't built-in scripts for this sort of thing. Creators have to code it themselves.
