Thanks for stopping by! Hope you enjoy this and learn something you might not have known before. Let me know if you want to see more and I can film more behind-the-scenes farming videos with my dad!
Thank you very much! I'm working on a video now about irrigation. Showing how water goes from the lake to farms many, many miles away. Keep an eye out for that, and I should be able to do more cotton videos this winter during harvest! Thanks again for your time and comment.
Yes sir!! There is a lot that goes into things we don't think about. Trying to get time to finish a video that shows how irrigation water gets from a lake to farms about 25 to 30 miles away. Mostly filmed, just working too much to sit down and edit a few hours 🤣. Thanks for watching this, have a great week Mike!!
Thank you, sir! You went and found one of my very first attempts. I still need to finish the video showing how irrigation water gets from the lake to fields like 40 miles away. Filmed a lot of it, then got into shooting and never went back to finish editing it. My dad wants to see it. Thanks for reminding me to work in that again soon!!! If only I had more time 🤣 This was a fun one getting to show this off. I drive by this place every time I go to my range. It's like 1.5 miles from my range spot!! I practically grew up in this gin and running around the co-op. Have a great rest of your week, Hillbilly!!
Hey, Marc!! I'd hope he would be proud of his legacy!! This place runs with very few people considering the volume of cotton that is ginned here. Reminds me I need to get the irrigation video finished. Filmed some cool stuff, just too busy to edit it. One if those 5 hour edit jobs 🤣 I gotta finish that one when I get a rainy weekend I think!! Appreciate you coming and checking one of my first videos! Have a great week, sir!!
@@ChadKelly7 Saw it mentioned in the chat on Macman's live. Knew I had to go take a look. I mention Whitney several times a year in both American and World History classes I teach!
@marcthomas2482 Got a teacher in the crew!! I enjoyed most of my teachers, just didn't like school. Was too smart. Got a 31 on my ACT and slept thru the next 3 my mom made me take and got 29, 29 and 30. She gave up making me do it more after I told her I just slept thru half the test time 🤣 I'll have to tell some of my good school stories. On my list for the eventual livestream story times! You will probably like the irrigation video also. I intend to show water from where it starts at the lake and ends up about 30 miles away in the fields. I have too many things to do, not nearly enough time. Maybe I need to stop sleeping 🤣😂
Thank you so much! Appreciate you checking it out. Working on finishing a video showing irrigation water from the lake to Humphreys area fields. And just filmed some shots of cotton balers in a field this afternoon. More to come. Thank you again!!
@JennyLaBouff Thank you, Jenny! This was one of the first videos I tried to make. Life has gotten very busy in the years since, but I do have plans for an irrigation video. Showing how water gets 20 miles from the lake to fields to water crops in the summer. Someday, I will have the time to finish that one 😂 I appreciate you watching this one! I hope you have a great weekend!!
That's cool. My dad's wife's family ran some big oil mills. Maybe if people like this I can get a series going of different parts. Benefits of growing up on a farm! My dad helped me a lot with the info for this. Thanks for watching dude!
I doubt if you are part of the Jasper County, GA Kelly clan but I went down there to our family’s farm and realized that the machinery in the 100+ year old cotton gin was still there though now on the ground due to rot. Do you know of any silent films of gins of the Turn of the Century?
Hello!! Thanks for watching my video. I don't believe I'm related to any of those Kelly clans, from what I know, most of my family is from Texas and southwest Oklahoma. My dad was telling me I could maybe do a video on another gin around here that has older equipment so people can see some of the differences. It's on my list, just need to slow down some and finish the videos I've shot but not edited lol. Work too much sometimes!! I don't know of any silent videos, but as I go through UA-cam, if I do see something I will come back to this message and reply to you with a link!!! Thanks again for checking out my video, more to come as soon as I can get the time to finish editing a few things. Have a great week!!
Thanks, Chad. It was kind of awe inspiring to see parts of the 100 year old gin still being used but in fancier form. I’m wondering how the gin at our farm was powered.
O wow!! Thanks for watching and dropping me a comment. Means a lot to me! One of my favorite things about UA-cam is the ability to reach all over the world. Thanks for my first comment from Australia!! I'm totally showing my dad this later today🤣, he'll enjoy seeing this. Have a great 2021!!

Thanks for the comment, but I don't have anything to do with the hiring at this gin. I just grew up near it and wanted to show it off to people. Thanks for checking it out!
@@cwood221 Exactly!! It is a lot of work over many months in the hottest parts of summer for a small reward. The main reason most farms are very large operations!! Barely break even most years. But, it keeps the world dressed and functioning, so it has more benefits than just a paycheck. Most farmers are doing it for the love of the work over trying to become super rich 😂 Thank you for finding and watching one of my first videos! I hope it was interesting to you. @@jockellis I believe some were powered by steam or water like from a river rotating a wheel with paddles. Or some were all manually done by hand!!
