Hank giving an uber driver a 4 to "leave room for improvement" is the most Hank thing ever
I was dying at that part.
True
Don't you need a 4.6 rating to stay driving with Uber 😂
Makes more sense than people who only give 5 or 1 stars
😂😂 Definitely Hank coded for sure.
I almost believed Hank would give Bobby a hug. The handshake is completely in hanks character
Right. Hank only hugs when the situation really requires it.
@@PintheDog
If Bobby or another family member were in serious distress, he would likely relent.
“If you weren’t my son, I’d hug you right now”
It’s out of character how affectionate that handshake was 😂 /j
That's not Hank's style.
Bobby got the English Dub Naruto effect going on keeping the kid voice for the adult & Pam still crushing it haha
it's also in Japanese version of Naruto it's the same voice actor
more like DBZ, Super japanese dub,Gokus over 50 and still sounds like a kid, oddly enough voiced by an old lady
I agree with you 100%, it’s the same as in the original but with a meadow and slow tune.
Also Jax, how’s Qaaman doing these days?
@@FoolishOdysseyNah cause think about it, English speaking Specifically Goku is voiced by a woman as a kid, Adult English Goku is voiced by a man. English speaking Naruto is voiced by a woman as a kid but because she was so beloved they didn’t switch her out when Naruto became a full on adult so the Naruto works better here for this American show haha
Hank being so willing to give Bobby handshakes now is actually a nice detail. In Returning Japanese it was revealed that one of Hanks biggest wants in life was his Dads respect and to receive a handshake from him. Then in the final episode of the classic series Hank gave Bobby a handshake in a moment of proudness for his son.
And Hank literally handshaked Peggy for the wedding ceremony. They show the picture of them handshaking appears in multiple scenes😂 so a handshake is extremely intimate for Hank
True. Getting a firm handshake from Cotton was something that would have completed Hank's life.😂
awe I love that.
Never forget when a limp handshake with a presidential candidate completely shook Hank’s faith in the man.
@@DeadDude89but cotton did give Hank his handshake
I like how there seems to be more camraderie between Hank and Bobby here. Not that they were ever antagonistic or anything, they just seem to have more of an understanding. Feels like it's preserving their development from the original series.
One of the great things about maturing into adulthood is learning to enjoy your parents as friends.
@@BEESANDTOASTY The understanding that comes with age is powerful if you're here to learn. Very true.
@@BEESANDTOASTY If you’re lucky enough to have that privilege. That is a great thing.
A lot of us, we have parents that we could never have that relationship with, nor would we want to. Just the reality. A lot of truly awful and absent parents out there.
All of this to say, if you do have a solid enough foundation to be friendly with your parents, be grateful.
It’s actually a respect thing. My father and I are like this. It’s still a father and son relationship but when you leave the nest and are doing your own thing, a smart parent realizes that they have no more authority over you than any other random person. They just know that /usually/ their opinions hold higher value than others if there has been a healthy relationship throughout the years. My mother never understood this though. She was the “I am your mother and you will always be my baby” type. I loved my mother, she only wanted what was best, but we were two entirely different people growing up in two entirely different worlds. In Matilda, when Danny Devito got in Matilda’s face and started saying “I’m big, you’re little. I’m smart, you’re dumb. I’m right, you’re wrong.” etc. that is literally my mother. If she was still alive today I genuinely don’t know what our relationship would be like because in her final years she never respected me as an adult, only her child. Respect goes a long way
Wait for it hank is going be such little baby the entire tome bobby is cooking with charcoal 😂
"Hey Bobby. Come give your old man a big...handshake."
Classic Hank Hill
The last time I saw my Granddad, that's exactly what he said. Got a good hug in anyways. He was an interesting man. I miss him dearly.
I was hoping he would evolve and grow enough by now... Especially since ALL his time in Saudi Arabia...
buuut.... if Hank is *still* the Hank that we all know, and love to make fun of...
He should be an _absolute_ RIOT in this day and age.
Yeah
I think sometimes he was trying to be funny by saying things like that, I tell you what. Lol.
It's literally the one thing he wanted from Cotton his entire life and never received.
I love that Hank sounds more relaxed, despite still acting like the Hank we know. Travelling abroad and getting a new boss that actually values his effort must have done wonders for him.
I'm going to miss Buck Strickland though :(
Guess it's true, people mellow out with age
@louthegiantcookie What happened to him?
@@PintheDogProbably killed him off in the season. He did have health issues
@@louthegiantcookie I'm 100% sure that Buck will still appear or, if he's dead, will at least be shown in flashbacks. It is gonna be interesting to see what made Hank take an actual job that values him rather than stay committed to Buck and his business.

I think they're recasting Dale but the original VA recorded dialogue for at least two seasons.
@@shadowdragonlord2295 That was a couple episodes not seasons The original voice actor did for dale, the rest of the episodes are played by Toby huss
Its small, but i already see a ton of growth between Bobby and Hank in just this little scene. Hank wanting a handshake is equivalent to a hug. And making a joke out of not wanting to share the grill shows that he doesnt outright reject Bobby like he would've when he was a kid, but he's still the one in charge of the grill.
HI
howdy
A handshake is just a Hank Hill hug.
Werd, "Bobby, if you weren't my son, I'd hug you."
You know it's a firm handshake to boot. The disappointment of the Bush handshake still in the memory bank
My dad loved this show and we would watch it all the time. Unfortunately he passed aways due to a heart attack two years ago so when this new reboot comes I will watch it in memory of him.
May the lord always protect and watch over you….Your dad will be watching and laughing along with you 💙

The 4 star rating bit had me like, “Yup. 🥫”
For real! love how he still gives handshakes, not hugs 😂
Yeah, I think they're really gonna nail this revival.
No?
Nah he sounds weird
Bobby being into craft brewing is so in character
And Hank immediately dismissing it is also in character. Keep in mind, Bobby lives in Dallas with Connie, Joseph, and Chane.

@@jackmarl3237yeah I see that. I bet one of hank's story arcs will be learning to give up some control as the head of the household.
Think Bobby Hill, keeping his voice makes sense. it shows that yes, his older now but also shows he the same kid we used to know. Knowing his in his 20s and thinking how I was in my 20s fits pretty well, then expect.
People keep going on about Bobby’s voice when hanks childhood voice was literally Mike Judge doing a higher pitched version of it
That's just your nostalgia talking. Part of growing up is that our mind and body matures. Nobody views you as the same cute little boy from elementary school when you're an adult. Everyone wants the Adult you to get a job and do something with your life. Adult Bobby having a voice of a 12 year old is just creepy nostalgia. I mean, Nobody in real life wants Macaulay Culkin to play Richie Rich or the Home Alone kid again in some theater play even though he's that iconic.
I love how Pam Adlon still voices 21 year old Bobby. She is the heart and soul of King of the hill! And I can't wait to see the new season!
Thank God, I thought they gonna have a male actor to voice Bobby
@@ReggieWilson-gm5dl Joseph did have puberty lol so it's kinda weird with Bobby 😅. Not bad acting though
But his voice got so whiny and annoying like Lois from family guy over the year

Hank Hill also doesn't know what a JPEG is
It just goes to show that Hank’s still a boomer (he is a literal Baby Boomer, Cotton was a WW2 vet who got married and had Hank after his deployment) who doesn’t understand modern review-based working conditions. Happy Father’s Day to all fathers!!!!
I like most everything about this, but the animation is quite off. I hope it's cleaned up a little before release, but otherwise I'm still cautiously optimistic
It's definitely going to look cheaper than it used to because networks aren't throwing around millions of dollars of animation at every episode like they used to.
@BEESANDTOASTY yeah that is true too
There is a lot of motion tweening happening on the limbs and some props (like cars). Gives it that Toonboom/Flash look.
The original show was traditionally animated So it looked hand drawn even when it had digital coloring and compositing.
@nothat0therguy992 I agree with you on the animation, but that's not really where the appeal for this show lies imo. I think as long as the character and writing are on point, the show'll be good.
