Gregor Piatigorsky played it under Strauss.
Great that he take not so much vibrato at the end. Strauss conducted the piece with many cellists (Piatigorsky wrote in his book about playing with Strauss this piece).

Why does he rubber hand his bow arm?
That caught my eye too. I wonder why. Maybe with such hard part he wants to make sure he doesn't loose hand grip?
Problems with his hand. He cant hold the bow without it. for many years already
Maybe everyone should have one of these. It relieves so much pressure on fingers.
Litecoin John its not a relief to play with rubber bands because its the only way you can play.
Cid Canelas he had an axe accident awhile back i believe, so he needs rubber bands to hold the bow
I spotted that he ties two of his fingers to the bow with a rubber band. What's going on there?
