I really appreciate the detail. I know people like short videos now but I like the amount of detail you put into it. Thank you! I’m doing this for a customer and I’m going to paint it and bling it out with crystals ❤️😘
ProTip: when drilling anything plastic, especially a shallow hole, run your drill in reverse. It might take a hair longer but the bit won’t bite and you’ll end up with a perfectly smooth hole
Your hard lesson will save alot of people headaches. Ensure you have the right orientation . I also glued mine from the back where I drilled out the rivets using JB weld
mr G: "Honey, come look and see how good my Ford emblem turned out." Wife: "Yes, that looks great. Good job, Sweetheart. But what the hell happened to the folding trays on our Smoker?!"
Damn thats a lot of work. Love your Aussies. I believe there are some decals out there that accomplish the same thing. I'm going to look into that option first. I just cringed when you painted on your grill, yikes! Thanks for the tutorial.
They were a pain in the dick to get off. You need to get a razor and cut the glue and then push from the inside and pull at the same time while pushing the clips in..
@@iamgarrettlyons tip for getting emblem glue off, use dental floss, they have small abrasives that wont damage your paint, but cut through badge glue like butter
@@thatbluebugguy3455 yeah; I tried 3 different floss. They all broke. I used a heat gun to warm glue up, left it alone, tried it all lol I ended up using 12lb fishing line and a straight razor. Was an absolute pain in my side to get off.
so a year or so later, it has held up great. The front was about 85% but a big rock destroyed it into two pieces. I redid it with sanding, etc. Still looks good after several months. First time doing it so relax bro
Thank you for the how to. It was informative but, honestly, it could be a 5 minute video. Just some constructive criticism, no offense intended. Thanks again.
Nice work man

Thank you! Saved me lots of $ and time.
Instead of using a dremel I used a box knife to pop the rivets on the outer oval.
I don't know anything about a dremel other than I own one.
Brilliant!
Thanks for the informative video
Took all day but completed and looking sharp!!
Great video. Could you please mention the different paint cans you used in this?
Where can I buy one like that for my 2019 ? Without the plastic on the side that’ll fit ?

Lol 😆 the paint has since came off. But my wife wouldn't notice anyways 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Looks good man!!! Thanks for the video

Awesome color! If you give them a light sand before you paint they won't peel like that. 👍
I know this is an older video. Ford/ Dog guy so just checking in on the K9s. Really cute
They are great. Turning 5 and 4 this year! :D
hey ford you see this? looks great
Looks good buddy.
Where do u get those emblem I been looking but my say size 9.45
pop it off your truck or ford dealership
How is the paint holding up? I just did mine today and it’s drying.
Very well. The only negative thing is very tiny rock chips on the front but the back looks as good as the day I did it.
Looks great!
They already sell these though in the exact color you did yours and their cheap. Why not just go get one of those?
Who is they? Only one's I can find in a pair are $250-$300!
You think it's the same process for the 2007 Ford explorer emblem?
you didn't have to sand the chrome down??
I should have. On my newest updated one I did.
@@iamgarrettlyons I have a 2008 ford f250, do you know if all ford emblems are in 2 or 3 pieces??
Did the tailgate emblem come apart the same as the front grill emblem?
Yes it did!
Did you ever get around to the side emblems, and if so, how hard were they to do?

mr G I parked mine in the sun for a few hours and they came off like butter.
Thank you for the how to
#amazing
Did you think about clear coating it?
He did apply a clear coat. One coat.
It looks like a nice place to paint but make sure if you're in an area like me (in Los Angeles) you have some kind of protection from dust and bugs!!!
I'm in south Alabama but I was in my closed garage. Good enough for a home project lol
Should have showed it on the truck. Want to see how close of a match it was. Good tutorial tho. Wish it was around 6 years ago when I did mine...
Great video man, was this for the front or rear emblem on your F150?
Both. I did front and back!
How do you remove the front badge from a 2015 f150????PLEASE HELP!!!
On my 2019 you had to take off the front grill and the dampners. Was a pain in the dick to do..
thx helped!!!
Thanks man looks great👍🏼
Wow no prep, no primer, and junk spray bomb clear coat. Bet these look great a few months down the road.

You right. In my head the video making process went different lol next time it'll be short and sweet
his spray painting technique makes my eye twitch. watch a video on that
no it aint that serious
Can i just mail you mine and you do them? Lol.
this was the easy part. the hardest part was getting the stupid grill off. lol
Reminds of a dentist 😁
4 cans of paint for this ~ not sure it’s cost effective. Turned out nice but it would be taken a minute or less to drape something over it 🤷♂️🤦♂️
how are you gonna just "drape something over it" and paint it 2 different colors lol
Not cost effective? Please sit down ma’am
Fuck that.
ford is ridiculous for making this so complicated. its a damn emblem, not an engine.
I guess you've never seen the 10ths running around with half the emblems woren away lol
complete disrespect for that grille lol
Fck that grill boi
No big deal.
Note to self: pay someone else to paint ovals.
hey ill do it for some money lol it's not as hard as it looks. Just takes time!
