@@ryu-ken Lol. Perhaps you need to watch more races before talking. The 200 must be what you're talking about (I hope you didn't mean the 100) with Lyles.
Also one more thing to consider is that when Bolt ran he had the best competition in sprint history- Tyson, Asafa, Blake, Xavier Carter, Spearmon, Gatlin, Walter Dix and ran against them all when they were all at their peak one time or the other. Now? In terms of real raw all time lists? Only Coleman has run under 9.8 since 2015 and he's out for good. Back then we used to have a sub 9.8 every once in a while.
Same arguments for 200 but it's obviously more possible than the 100m. No lies, Lyles is a god to be this fast so early, but a WR isn't in the books for him in 200 m at least not in Tokyo. He's done a 19.76 SB and a 19.50 PB but there's a MASSIVE difference from it and the 19.19.

Great Video again TRP. What a talent this young lady is! I think the 400m will be an easier less tactical affair than the 800m where age, international racing experience, running progressively faster rounds and tactics may work against the young phenom in the Olympics. That said, her flat 400m speed may also make the 800m that much easier for her because the opening lap will typically be around 8-10 seconds slower than her flat 400m best which will be an absolute jog for her. As always I also worry about her peaking too early for NCAA's then having to come back for the US Nationals and then the Olympics. Thats 3 separate peaks in one season.

Speaking of Michigan great middle distance runners (Hobbs Kessler) whose dad ran at Eastern Michigan....When can we expect the Paul McMullen and coach Bob Parks tribute videos?

In response to your edit on Athing Mu's 400m time...you basically predicted her anchor split in the 4x400m at the Championships!! She clocked sub-49 seconds, EFFORTLESSLY.

No question she is a phenom, I believe in her early career she should concentrate on the 400m, and then transition to the 800m in her late 20's.

I don't think she's going to race both the 400 and 800 at Trials. I think she picks one to focus on, and I think it will be the 800. If she makes the team (which I believe she will), I think she's got a great chance to medal. She's an incredible talent and she's got a lot of room to improve still. She's also a great personality who could emerge as a media darling if she does well in Tokyo.

All due respect to Sha'Carri - this girl deserves more hype. But she's relatively drama-free so folks find that boring 😂🤦🏾‍♂️

She's incredible but why would she deserve more hype?
Richardson's times as a teen are more impressive, and her best 100 is 6th all time. Athing's 400 is the 61st best time. Obviously amazing but still not in the same class.
*Richardson's 10.75 at 18 would still be tied as the 10th fastest time ever

@ThatOne yes i think she is using the 400m for speed but to better her 800m since she likes the 800m more.We will just have to wait & see.
