absolutely the best demo, at least in terms of selling a buyer on the ability to get an off-the-record tone, thank you VERY much. my ME-33 (ancient but COSM) always sounded really brash, brittle and unrealistic so I didn't have high hopes but you really sold me on this
Best demo so far on me-80, you may have convinced me to go with this for my new pedal over the more expensive processors like the gs-100 and hd500. Thanks for the demo
So confused. I have boss tone studio installed; MK100/212 all setup. If I don't see your set in Boss Tone Central in Studio, does that mean it's not available for my amp? otherwise, how do I download this set?
Mate I just want to give u a thumbs up mate👍 those tones you have in boss tone studio, awesome!!!. Can you do some more please. When I saw this tube I got my gt100 and got these downloaded straight away. They have so much feeling in these tone. Thank you so much for these great tones brother and also great playing which you properly all ready know that😊 regards Rob
Ok Josh, (or someone at Boss) I have to ask. Is there any tonal difference between your tones at tone central from the 25, 80 & GT 100? I don't really hear any except it seems your GT 100 demo is a notch above the ME 80 sounds at least on You Tube. Plus, The 80 & 25 tones are great to begin with! I am torn between 2 worlds. I have the 80 but was thinking of moving up to the 100. Then again most tones I might use are probably in the 25 & for recording in my Tone Lounge the smaller foot print would be great.
Thank you so much josh, for your reply. My understanding is that what you explain for the me80 1,2,3, ex... is the same for my gt 100. But you use the output select. That's sweet to know👍 the plug up is the same. Once again thanks for those sweet tones.
Hi Josh, are you able to down tune by half steps / droptune to another key using the me 80? it would be a great practice tool if this can be achieved. Great demo, thanks
I have a question. I imported a patch into a user memory. Now whenever I select the patch the CTL button is turned off by default. I want the CTL button to be on by default. So please help me with the steps to achieve this.
Not sure if Josh reads these but I have a question or two... First, great sounding demo. I'm really impressed with the accuracy of the tones you're getting. I'm seriously considering getting the ME-80 or the GT-100. I've heard your similar medley video for the GT-100 and while you did a great job, the ME-80 demo just sounds a lot better to me...which surprised me because I assumed both units were using the same basic modeling as their basis. In fact most of the ME-80 demo's I've heard sounded better than the same artists that also demo'd the GT-100. The only GT-100 demo I've heard that really wow'd me was Johnny Marr's. 1. Did you use different recording methods for each of them? 2. Any thoughts as to why the ME-80 demo sounds better? 3. Do you feel with a little more tweaking that the GT-100 is capable of sounding as good or better? 4. As a live performance unit, having played the two units, which would you prefer? 5. Is either or both unit(s) capable of seamless patch changes or delay/reverb spillover? Not when bypassing those effects but actually changing from one patch to the next? Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. :)
Hi josh - great guitar player! Please let me know about this pedal. i JUST want to run stomboxes of Me-80 through a clean channel of a tube amp - with no amp simoulation. I just get in the fron input of amp - is that right ? thanx :)
Hiii Joshua...I have been using Me 80 for about an year now...can you please tell me how to create down tuned patches with the help of this and does it have an auto-wah and if it has then how to engage that...also a little guidance about direct recording(from me 80 to computer) would be a great help...
Hi Josh. yes thats what I need. but when I set up it changes the whole patch. what can I be doing wrong? and on the other hand I when I press the control button some effects blink. are those effects on?
+Codigo Musica The effects that blink when you press the control button will change to the opposit of what you have save in that patch. e.g. if you have delay ON in that patch and it is flashing when you press the control button, the CTL Pedal will turn it off.
It's just straight into the audio interface in the computer. No other processing involved. I then put it through my studio monitors so I could hear it but you are hearing the direct recording in this video. Hope this helps. Josh.
Hey Josh - that would be absolutely off-the-charts awesomeif you could do some JS-10 patches. It's such a versatile little unit - I Iove it - use it every day! Good luck with the new patches & hopefully you do get to do some JS-10 specific ones too! Cheers! \m/ Matt
+Albert Codigo Musica Hi Albert, I'm not exactly sure what you mean. Do you want to know how to assign the CTL pedal within your user patch? If so you just need to press the CTL button on the ME-80 and decide which features turn on and which to turn off then save. Josh.
***** Ok Joshua, Blues For Tony, is the song i thought about, if you could come up with something for that, you would have my respect and grattitude !!
Joss could you or someone put all of these settings on a PDF file so thar i can manually set the board I would happily pay for digital download or paper. Soft cover book it would be great to have a reference guide as i cannot download the digital settings our ADSL is far too slow. Can you give it some thought or speak to your Senior Manager re a reference. Guide so we can set the tones manually thanks Jess Haller Australia
+Eli Joseph Doummar Hi Eli, Sorry for the late response. I'm using the standard pickups that come in the Fender Roland G5 Strat, no modeling pickups are used (you can see that the blue light that is on when there are batteries in the guitar is not on).
Hey Dieter, make sure you have something plugged into the REC OUT/PHONES output (even if you are not using it). This turns on the speaker simulator. Josh.
Hi Josh!! Great video, thanks for sharing! Quick question, is it possible to save the Tone Central sounds into the Preset banks (and modify the presets using Tone Central)? I have an ME-70 and thinking of upgrading because I don't like the preset sounds on it. Let me know!
Sorry Josh, just to clarify, with my initial comment I was referring to the P banks (P1-1, P1-2 ecc) not the user banks. is it possible to modify and save sounds onto those P banks? I have an ME-70 at present and those P banks can't be changed, unfortunately.
You have to download Boss Tone Studio and the drivers. Hook up to your PC with a USB - A cord. Install the software and choose the ME-80. Make sure that you are in full screen mode or you will not see the Tone Central button on the bottom left (learned the hard way after a near breakdown). You can download the files and play them while connected or download to a bank on your ME-80. Josh Munday has by far the best tones. From within the Rock category of the library, download John Munday's Classic patches. There are lots of other cools tones. Everything is free within the Library. One hint that a lot of people miss is that you should plug your headphones into the ME-80 jack even if you playing from the amp. This allows the ME-80 to change pre-amp tones, which can have a significant effect on your tone. Good luck
After you get your tones, you can use the ME-80 as a direct recording device to your computer. Download Audacity if your have a PC or use Garage Band with a Mac. Both will recognize the ME-80 and you can overlay tracks on top of your own backing. You can also drag song files or other backing tracking into it and record from there. Its fun to play around with these toys, but its not always easy to find simple instructions.

It’s partly the tones (which you’ve certainly got down to an art, Josh) and largely in the hands (you’re a killer guitarist, man’.

The best review i ever seen! Excelent tones, great job!
I'm sure this video moved some units. Talented player that gave a great to the point demo.
Mr. Munday, you are absolutely the best gear demo dude around. Killer stuff man :)
What he did with the expression pedal sold me on it. @ 3:33, oh baby WAHHH
Great tones !

Hi Josh id like to know how to conect the Boss Me 80 to a Fender Frontman 212 to get a better sound and approach all its potencial

I know there are three delays on the unit but how does that enable ping-pong echo or stereo panning ?
Richard Beck great demo thanks.
The delays are wired-up so they will cross-over, just pick two and play around.
Tbh I'm not sure how this works a block diagram might help . . .
hello Joshua,i have the same pedal bord and i love led zeppelin.could you give me the preset for the stairway to heaven lead guitar please ?

are the boss gt-10 and boss gt-100 patches compatable with the boss me-80
