Actually er arcee ‘s chest is a faux part, her entire alt mode is on her chest, if you can push the pin connecting the two you can have both modes exist perfectly
I haven't gotten to it in the video yet but he probably confused it with SS 86 Arcee.
Which is why the SS86 Arcee is modified from the original Generations toy.
I feel like Kingdom Airazor and Blackarachnia deserves an honorable mention. Airazor is such a good mold, and I'm super pumped for the premium finish, and Kingdom Blackarachnia is a sleek slender bot that actually turns into a round defined spider.
Actually about Earthrise Arcee's grill being her chest, it's not, it folds underneath the hood
So yes, you can just knock out a pin and have both a robot and bar of soap without having to buy two figures

@@takanuinuvaheck I DID it. For the Elieta-1 version of the figure I got an upgrade kit from ebay to make her look more like the classic art. So now I have an RED figure of Elita-1 and a red bar of soap with wheels (I REALLY didn't like the "car" mode)

Clobber’s great. One of the few Cyberverse toys I own, along with Rack ‘n’ Ruin and Wildwheel.

honorable mention at least as far as looks go: kingdom road rage. she's a nice looking tracks retool, and I hope we get loudpedal at some point.
My favorite is kingdom Blackarachnia. The fact that the spider mode is better than the masterpiece at 1/7 the cost is really impressive. I also might be biased because I absolutely love her character
She looks good, but she feels terrible in hand. I broke two of them before I gave up on her. If you're going to make a thin Transformer, you can't use thin plastic.

I think it's important to keep the more feminine body type, it does build more variety in shapes on the shelf. The trick is taking advantage of those curves to distribute transforming parts. Ala 1stE Prime Arcee
Here's hoping for a Legacy Beast Machines (Hell animated if it gets it made) Strika!
I would add the Kingdom Blackarachnia, it looks SO much like her original Beast Wars model and the transformation for it is so CLEAN, with almost no kibble in either mode. I would also put RID minicon weaponizers strongarm, though it had a weak paint job it was the most faithful figure of her until the Legacy figure came out like a month or two ago.
For BAD female transformers, the Legacy Prime Arcee is pretty crap, she reminds me of one of those Lego Hero Factory figures with how hollow and skeletal it feels. Another choice for bad ones would be from team Victorion. Jumpstream and Dustup didn't use the best molds from the Combiner wars series, which is a shame. Pyra Magna, Skybirst, Stormclash, and the combined mode itself were all pretty good, I just wish they used better figures for the other two, like the Rook mold or Dragstrip
The Dragstrip would've work great. Another great mold could have been the deluxe Groove mold, albeit with some changes to the chest and thighs.
I am glad they finally seem to be smartening up. The new windblade will probably end up being one of the best of Legacy: United for the leg mechanics alone. After the Arcee mold seeing an hourglass fembot actually use parts of her main body to transform was a shock lol.
Agreed, great figure. Only thing id change on that wind blade is give her the bigger eyes from the show.

The other thing about cybertron thunder blast is the pose you have to put her in to transform her. It’s rather obscene.

yeah she was actually my first velocitron figure. got road rocket, scourge and cosmos later on. might grab clampdown. galaxy shuttle? probably..
At least, we got a Lifeline out of Earcee who is more accurate as just a robot without the kibble. Not expecting an SS86 redeco so that is the most valuable version of the mold.
I don't know about her comic lore, but Cascade having a large backpack makes sense as a sniper, as it could contain a backup core for refuelling / powering up the rifle.
Thunderblast and Nautica could work as mold mates if Hasbro wants to create a hover-skif.
Animated Arcee needs a reimagining in Legacy along with a non-combiner Animated Swindle.
Thank the Allspark for APC for giving us a better version of Airachnid.
Too bad Override was a limited release, barely received any Down Under (got mine though).
HM for good: SS Nightbird, ROTF and Kingdom Airrazor, Elita/Minverva/Strongarm - maybe Cyberverse Arcee if she didn't yellow horribly, and it explained her backpack - she's an explorer and like souvenirs.
I honestly think they could get a good Thunderblast by heavily retooling SS86 Scourge. The same for Nautica and heavily retooling Override.

With you, they could actually make the boat mode work with the new engineering, you can keep her curves that way too by distributing more of it to the legs.
I really really really really want a good Thunderblast - I don't care whether it's official or third party at this point. Preferably I'd want her to stay a boat, but if they _had_ to change her I'd still give it a shot (as long as it's not just a light Windblade or Arcee retool).
Sadly, I know she's one of the last characters anyone would make a new toy of from Cybertron, which is one of the last series anyone would adapt figures from. Then again, if Hasbro really wants more fembots and is running low, she's right there. _Please_ make her.
i feel like ROTF Arcee wouldn't have been so terrible IF they never dropped the official combiner form, then it would have paid off for the crazy motorcycle mermaids. [i love them though bc theyre so alien, but yeah. xD]
Legacy Override honestly should have been the base mold for Elita, rather than the Minerva mold. Would at least have been a more respectable (and ACTUALLY ACCURATE) size than puny Deluxe.
Override did look like a modern 2000's elita one. So much I made them as a duo team named elite Override

Cool. I've seen other people like Crash Thompson who mix their best and worst lists. Of course, since Crash's lists have ballooned in size so much that he doesn't do that anymore, but he had done it in the past and it's always cool to see the format again.
Thank goodness for APC Toys to have Night Countess for those that wanted a better Airachnid toy that is properly scaled. Given how poor the deluxe was to have that chair gimmick, limiting the head articulation.
As far as direct G1 Arcee to toy designs go, Studio Series 86 thankfully was not as much of a mess. That's likely the best we'll ever get outside of re-imaginings for official toys.
I'd prefer for them to bring back the Studio Series 86; with slightly brighter colors, than to see the Earthrise design get produced ever again.
The Hasbro TF team were asked about this, and said they actually are interested in revisiting Arcee as a SS86 Voyager class. She would need a more complex transformation to collapse her backpack into a smaller, more show accurate form, and that would require a larger amount of parts and a higher price to engineer.
Why wasn’t Airachnid a triple changer like she was in the cartoon?

ROTB mainline Airazor is fantastic! I paid the import fees for her too. If she was one of the best of 2023, I'd figure she'd have to be one of the best female Transformers ever. I'd also put Beast Machines Strika on the best of list, above Blackarachnia from the same line, though Blackarachnia was the tougher design to do.

I haven't touched UA-cam in three weeks (getting up to date with the One Piece anime) and your channel was the first that came to my mind now that I'm here to watch everything I missed.
Favorite : POP Firestar. The colors really help the look of the mold.
Least favorite ROB Studio Series Airazor.. She comes across as too bulky plus the lack of paint doesn'the help. WHicham is sad because she' s an upscale Kingdom Airazor which is a fantastic figure.

God I really hope Thunderblast gets a brand new toy in Generations. Cause I love her design and character, but they need to incorporate more of the boat parts into her body and not on her back. While still giving her that wing cape look. Maybe take design cues from 86 Scourge.
The PotP fem limb mold is a good mold at it's core, and I will stand by that. The Siege Chromia mold, on the other hand and despite inheriting a lot of the engineering tech, is an actual bad one due to the fact her bikini keeps popping off when you move her legs.

So far my 5 favorite female Transformers toys are 2007 movie Arcee, Studio Series Jet Shatter, T30 Arcee, Velocitron Override and the new Legacy United Windblade.

As far as I'm concerned, Earthrise/Kingdom Arcee is a really nice action figure. It's just a terrible transformer toy.
Of what I own, I really love Kingdom Blackarachnia. I'm amazed at how good it is. I have a pretty limited collection of female figures. I got SS86 Arcee because I missed out on the original T30 version of that toy. It's nice, and much better than action figure Arcee, but it does feel like it's engineering is starting to show its age.
It is the world's greatest RED figure, and it was even so good that it got a malleable display stand for bonus alt mode.
I'd have put one of the Airazors from the last few years on the best list, either the Kingdom version (my personal choice for best female transformer) and/or the Studio Series (which is basically the Kingdom toy reskinned into movie style with some structural improvements, such a pins in all 4 wing joints instead of just 2). Really since they're basically the same toy they can share a spot.
I want that Jet Shatter so much but aftermarket is crazy on her.

I would've liked Kingdom Airazor to end up on the list. I feel like she really kicked off the current golden age for fembot toys we have today. She has a very impressive bird mode while keeping the robot mode mostly slender.
Your original view of Airachnid came out at just the right time. I'm glad I never wasted my money on her. Override is one of my favorites too.
Sexist? Hows it sexist to call out hasbro for putting bad designs and faulty engineering on what few female transformers they have. If anything hasbro is sexist for making such bad representation of female bots/cons.
That’s kinda stretching it too much doesn’t it? I mean what’s worse? Designing a female character badly or not happening female characters at all? If you ask me, the latter seems more sexist
@kevinp.h8655 I think the former is far worse. Repainting an existing toy and calling it female (when the original toy was clearly designed to be a male character) is just insulting. The male and female form are not interchangeable, as it was clear from the very first appearance of fembots in the G1 cartoon that they don't resemble their male counterparts.
Reusing a male action figure for a female character would be unacceptable in any other toyline, and we shouldnt stand for it in Transformers either. It was awful when they reused the mold Tarantulas for Blackarchnia, and we had to wait decades to get a show accurate toy of her season 1 design that actually looked like a woman. It was basically Hasbro saying, "We don't think female characters sell, so we won't bother spend the tooling dollars required to make unique molds for them".

Second of all, the issue with female transformers is not that they look female all, it’s that their transformations are often designed lazy or uninspired because they have to have feminine bodies. This are robots that turn into vehicles, not people
I hate the Earthrise Arcee mold so much that I did a "mold cleansing" photo of the new Arcee and Elita-1 killing the old ones, with Lifeline running away. It's just an awful mold.
I think Kingdom Airazor, Kingdom Blackarachnia, Studio Series Bumblebee Arcee and Earthspark Deluxe Twitch are also great female figures. All were my desk toys for the longest time and felt like figures Hasbro actually cared about, rather than just obligations. They're my favourites alongside Velocitron Override.
My favorite is Fracture (Crasher) from 2007, I know it's a repaint of Mirage, but that lanky body is perfect for a female character, the similarities in head shape and boots are the cherries on top. I know a Legacy version of her was released recently, but the 2007 one remains better, at least for me.
Prime Universe Airachnid in Legacy United wave 4 please?
Dishonourable mention to POTP Elita-One. She might be a retool of Starscream, and created for the sole purpose of forming a female combiner using canon characters, but that mold never gelled with me for either character.
Conversely, Energon Arcee is rather nice for her size class, complete with a unique and cool energon bowcaster weapon.
Airrachnid, Strika, and Botanica are my most wanted femme figures for Legacy and beyond.
Nothing wrong per se with Strika's original toy, except her colouring and scale: She should be big 'n tuff!
Spider copter femme fatale deserves better than what she got.
Plant gurrl needs representation. I don't care how, I want an alien venus fly trap transformer!
potp elita's not very good as a toy, but man do I adore that design for her. I hope we see a revisit of that body type for elita in the future with a better figure.
@@nandyk.2026 I think my preferred body for Elita might be Earthspark's. Bulkier than G1 and most fembots, yet has a sleek feel too. If only she had better figure representation...
POTP's mold, I thought was a bit too chunky for both characters it was used for. Part of why it didn't gel with me.
We do need more bulkier female characters, either way. Strika and Strongarm are nice examples (Clobber too, though she is by all accounts a gender-bent Lugnut).
I think my least favorite is probably that Power of the Primes mold because the whole thing has a very "That'll do" feel to it, and it was reused way too much for a mold that isn't good. Favorite is probably First Edition Prime Arcee.
But if we're including unofficial figures my worst pick would be Perfect Effect RC (so much partsforming) and best is Ocular Max Azalea (the newer MP-scaled one).
The worst part about the RotF Fembots is that they planned for comic/concept art specific combiner mode and then gave up on it by making Elita-1 a Chromia repaint. I'm sure the final result would've been a wonderful mess but when they finally went for it in SS, the scaling ruined all the fun.
Had the BM blackarachnia as a kid, though mine was purple and gold. Thing was an absolute banger!

Maybe you think of it as a runner-up, but one of my favorites is still Deluxe Cyberverse Arcee - It relies on some shell-forming but she makes up for it so much in personality and the vehicle is a satisfying boxy car. The only downside is the yellowing.

If you want a good Airachnid toy, I would recommend you get the Night Countess.
As for the g1 Arcee debut, I like keeping the colors, but she has to have some added bulk like either animated or titans return. Beyond being physically impossible, I have never liked exposed empty seats, that makes them “in disguise” only when they are parked!
As "toon-accurate " as Thunderblast is, I'm just not a fan of "shell-formers". The poor girl's damn-near ENTIRE alt-mode is basically an open shell on her back!
Now that TJ has made this video, Hasbro will somehow release both one of the best female transformers and one of the worst this year.
They will now not only have a removeable backpack, but now you must partform the entire vehicle mode backpack off of Arcee to get to the robot mode! Calling it now!
Here is another fact about Earthrise Arcee, she is extremely difficult to transform. In a fit of anger, I threw my Seige Aleta One toy. She is still in one piece, but given how difficult she was to transform, that make her very angry. Personally, I prefer the Titans Return Arcee. A lot easier to transform. (Yes, she is retooled of Blurr, but does not change the fact.)
Titans Returns Arcee is an underrated gem. She just 'works'. I kinda wish they'd have retooled TR Arcee and Windblade without the headmaster gimmick.
Does anyone else notice that Thunderblast's chest armour seems to have a Matrix embedded into it?
Also, till you said it I had no idea ROTF Arcee was meant to be snake like.
Kingdom gave us 3 fantastic toys for this, as Airazor, Blackarachnia and even Vertebreak we amazing, Airazor has one of the best bird modes in the franchise with super posable wings that even get as close as deluxe budget can give us to how they compressed in the show, Blackarachnia manages to outdo her Masterpiece version with a WAY EASIER transformation and a much more cohesive spider mode and Vertebreak is really unique as a concept and design.
My favorite female Transformers toy is Kingdom Airazor. Followed by Kingdom Blackarachnia, Legacy United Windblade, Legacy Override, Animated Arcee, and First Edition Prime Arcee.
The worst is easily the regular Airachnid for Transformers Prime. It truly says something when the Legion toy is more appealing. Earthrise Arcee, Legacy Prime Arcee, and Revenge of the Fallen Arcee (too ambitious) are also so sloppy.
Er Arcee has one good point because her arm is so skinny she can use the entire fossilizer triceratops as a weapon
Current fave female Transformers toy is definitely Legacy Windblade. She does have a bit of a backpack and I don't like how her arms don't incorporate super well into the vehicle mode. But otherwise she's great. Looks very much like she did on the show, good accessories, especially the sword for being able to store in vehicle mode.
My dream female toys would be new transmetal Airazor and Blackarachnia molds. Especially if the latter gets redecoed into Arcee.
Correction, NONE of the WFC Arcee's robot mode is used in the vehicle mode AT ALL.

Velocitron Override is so good. Best recent female figure might be the best I have. Cybertron Thunderblast is one figure I've wanted for years, i know its not that good, but I just like her.
Nah, that toy doesn't even look female. That, to me, is an important part of designing a fembot in the first place and why Blackarachnia and Airazor are far superior.

one honorable mention I could make is Vertebreak from kingdom (yeah that'd a woman, TF earth wars confirms it)
which is one of the small group of female transformers on core/legends class who manages to get an clean transformation and a good articulation
you know... we could actually had a G1 Arcee back in the days, some one tweaked a G1 Hot Rod with Arcee parts and color palettes, and it looked good, the same way they could tweaked Kup to have a G1 Chromnia or Elita - 1
Ironically, Takara made an actual G1 prototype toy based on one of her unused designs back in the day.
Energon arcee is a good example bout the high heals among other things lol

Counterargument to the whole Lancer mold reuse - what about Seekers? We get AT LEAST 6 reuses of every new Seeker mold every time, and some of those characters are pretty thin in development.
I like the ROTF Arcee design but the original toy looks like she’ll break if you so much as move a joint the wrong way. That's why I prefer the Studio Series three-pack.
An excellent list. And as fond as I am of Thunderblast, I can’t dispute it’s up there with Beast Wars Neo for shellformers. And Animated Arcee is truly excellent, though I’ll add that SS86 Arcee is probably about as good as we can get for her original look.
I definitely agree that they need to move away from the idea that female Transformers need to look waifish. Go the Gobots route and just give them female heads on otherwise indistinguishable bodies. “Female because we say so.”
We are getting better attempts. The recent Strongarm and Legends Cyberverse Windblade are both good efforts. “Big stompy boots” help female characters a lot for where to put mass.
Man, we really need Animated Arcee on the Legacy toyline. Hopefully the engineering would be at least faithful to the OG toy despite of the inevitable proportion changes on the Legacy version.
I personally don't owe that many female Transformers I would agree that Animated Arcee and Beast Machines Blackarachnia are really good female Transformers figures. At some point I would like to get the Beast Machines Blackarachnia figure if I can find one for a good price. My favorite female Transformer is the thrilling 30th Acree figure of course people will say she has a big backpack in robot mode. I know that but that does not bother me. I know that her slim design of the g1 Arcee character has to be sacrifice in order to transform. I think the only way you will get a g1 Arcee robot mode that is accurate to the g1 cartoon is company's like for example Yolopark who make just character representations of the Transformers. I would absolutely agree with you that Transformers Prime Airachnid is one of worst female Transformers. That line is one of those lines that I would collect every character that was on the show. Transformers Prime is one of my favorite Transformers cartoons so when we saw photos of the figure I was so disappointed with how the figure look. I know that it was not gonna to be 100% percent to how she look in the cartoon but the figure looks terrible and blocky. The weird thing is that when the Beast Hunters Transformers Prime line came out we had her in the legion class line she looks good for a legion class figure even those she is small next to the rest of Transformers Prime figures that we got.
I believe that Legacy Override would have been much better if they re-imagined/retooled from Cyberverse Arcee. They both share a close enough profile, and conversion mechanics to simply rework, and I think it would have been a better choice.

ER Arcee marked the end of an era in my opinion. She was such a bad mold that HasTak decided to not only never use it again after Earthrise (not counting the Kingdom rerelease), but never stoop to such laziness when it came to fembots. Kingdom got the ball rolling with Airazor and Blackarachnia being stellar, and from Legacy onward we’ve had very few bad female Transformers figures (the worst in recent memory have been both figures of ROTB Nightbird as well as the reskinned Kingdom Airazor that was slotted into Studio Series).
5. As someone who has Siege Chromia, I can confirm the POTP/Siege/Evolution Twizzler bite car ladies are annoying for those of us who want accurate versions of Elita’s crew, Nightbird and Kaskade. As someone who also has SS jet mode Shatter, I can confirm she’s fantastic. Surprised she’s not higher on the list.
4. What I’d give to see Andrew Sorohan’s Thunderblast redesign or something like it be made official… that, or she could be a Studio Series Scourge retool. The latter would be more respectful of the dead. First Edition Arcee does indeed slap and so does the RID version- a rarity for Prime figures.
3. I’m shocked ERcee is so low. How did we go from T30 to this?! I’m actually kind of impressed at how bad ERcee is- she was so bad HasTak decided to immediately slot a retool of the T30 figure from nearly ten years ago into Studio Series. It’s actually pretty funny, not gonna lie. Animated Arcee, like many Animated designs, was brilliant both in terms of character design and toy design. Would love an update to this design or a new toy of her IDW1 Earth mode that cribs engineering from this release.
2. How fitting that the worst Arcee design gets one of the worst molds in ROTF’s toyline. Also how fitting that Blackarachnia’s best design gets one of her best toys and one of the best BM toys. This design NEEDS a Legacy update, and after Kingdom BA and Legacy Tarantulas, I’m convinced the design team’s figured out arachnids.
1. Nothing says Prime RID like an undersized, shrimpy and kibbly mess being given to an interesting character like Airachnid. Give the gal a Voyager or Leader update on Legacy part 4, dang it! Legacy Override/Nitro Convoy isn’t just a great lady bot, she’s a great Cybertron update- funny how both her and Metroplex/Megalo Convoy are both some of the most accurate Legacy updates. Let’s hope Starscream, Hot Shot and Vector Prime follow in their footsteps.

While I agree the POTP female limb mold was overdone with little variety, but I have a counterpoint to that: you can literally say that about every seeker mold in existence.
That said, Prime RID Airachnid is my least favorite of female Transformer and my favorite would probably be Override.
Legacy United Windblade that recently released just shows that Female Transformers are getting better.
I thought the Generations Arcee wasn't that bad, even though her kibble was backpack-ish and also Chromia using the Prime Arcee mold. And my least is the Generations Wingblade...wow that was a mess for sure.
I think favorite is titans return windblade.

Good God do I hate how badly they did Airachnid. She was one of the most interesting new characters to be introduced to the continuity, she deserved a solid toy incarnation; at least something larger than Arcee's alt mode was.
I think an unsung standout is Studio Series Nightbird from Rise of the Beasts; while not perfect, it was a solid take on the character. And probably as good as we're likely to get outside of a 3rd party or masterpiece version.
Seeing as I somehow actually own 5 decent & 1 not so decent fembot mould, I can give a personal list in no particular order:
Prime RiD Arcee: Damn she a good representation of the on screen design, not FE but still good.
Velocotron Burn-Out: She's Legacy Skids but in black with a mouthplate, she good nonetheless.
Velocotron Override: She was my no1 for 2022 for a damn good reason, she is amazing.
Legacy Elita-One: Yeah, she is a shellformer but far from the worst shellforming fembot out there & give the designers a bit of a break on the alt mode as there where like 2 frames of her in alt mode both of which were obscured in some manner.
BotBots Waddle Pop: I only bought a 5 pack of BotBots just for her & she is ADORABLE & also not a bad little thing either.
The not so good one is ROTF Chromia, why do I own her? Because I owned her as a kid & saw one for cheap so I literally bought her back into my life because of nostalgia. Most people own at least 1 less then stellar figure that like & Chromia is defo one of those figs for me.

The single worst female transformer toy in existence is the BotBot Venus Frogtrap. She straight-up does not work. The toy can't do the depicted alt. mode in any way, shape or form and the transformation requires clearance where there is practically negative clearance, making for an incredibly frustrating toy and I would rather transform Kingdom Rhinox's legs backwards and forwards every day for 18 hours a day for the next 40 years than even handle Venus Frogtrap again. I mean sure, the Little Shop of Horror plant mode is cool and she kinda works as a non-transforming desk toy, but as a Transformer she fails completely.
I guess BotBots don't count for this list anyway, but she's so horridly bad that I will take any opportunity I can get to slag on the guy who thought designing a transformation to require you to move legs out past a piece they're jammed up hard against was in any way a good idea.

When you mentioned a snake-like bot, I thought of RID Vertebreak. GOD that guy would be a fun toy. We're getting Filch, maybe eventually we can see the Snake Train.

Yeah, say enough about Beast Weaponizer Arcee. That is seen to be way more screen-accurate than the supposedly superior Studio Series figure.
Now that i'm think of it, most of good females transformers toys of my collection are repaints of a male one. So... Maybe Hasbro sould design a toy first and choose to make the character a female secondly ?

They should use the Velocitron Overide to make a new Arcee. It would ROCK.
Certainly one of the most uncommon female transformers, Beast Machines Strika. outside the one toy, cartoon, and the comic representation, we don't see much of her.
At least she got a toy. Botanica from the same cartoon wasn't so lucky.
At least it can be said that Prime RID Arcee is still better than the Legacy version. APC Toys version is also superior.
Multiple third party toys go too far into the s*xy direction with G1 Arcee. However, CDL-01 RC (a modified version of Nicee, who was once going to have the option for a G1 styled head) keeps it tame enough. I myself would personally still go with Studio Series 86 first due to that version being truer to what G1 Arcee's body is supposed to be like (aside from having the backpack).
Generally not a fan of Bumblebee Movie Arcee; mainly no thanks to the unsettling face (something that also almost happened with her ROTB design). Still, the toy of her seems decent.
I generally quite like how Cyberverse Arcee looks in animation. Her toy on the other hand is meeehhhhhh.
Shame that Legacy Strongarm has its notable issues. They otherwise did a generally good on the aesthetics. That vehicle mode is especially still unique for a female Transformer. They could stand to create a new version with slightly more bulk and nearly all the issues ironed out.
While Masterpiece Nightbird's mold is still not that good, I actually like how she looks better than Arcee.
Female Armada Megatron is kinda impressive in the sense she feels unique enough from her canon male counterpart.
Strika could use a Legacy toy. Same for Obsidian, but he's a guy so he doesn't count here.
The absolute best Blackarachnia is the universe BM purple and orange repaint.
Nah, Kingdom BA is better.
My current favorite is Legacy Strongarm. Sure the mold has its problems, but I'm so damn happy to have a Generations Strongarm I'm willing to overlook them.
