Essentially £450 for snacks and a comfy seat 😂😭 It's a shame for our local supporters and the younger generation of fans who struggle to see any games at all. Enjoyed both of your takes on your experience, thanks for sharing!
The fact that you don't even get some drinks tokens for £499 a ticket is atrocious. I would be shocked having to then spend extra on drinks, great video, definitely not worth the price!
Fun fact 8:55 The reason why you can't see the football from the bar is because it is illegal to serve or consume alcohol in Britain from a place where there is a view of a professional game of football. So in boxes with a glass window, they will always have blinds/shutters blocking the view while the game is in play
@@awaydaysfootball yep everyone will being hearing a lot more about Cry Summerville this season. Just hope Sonny Perkins gets his chance too ! Some great youngsters coming through at E.R. these days.
These tickets exist because it allows the club to turn a £35-£40 ticket into a £300-£500 ticket by chucking in a buffet\food at either the ground or venues around the City eg; Aintree. The ticket is only a standard ticket, a standard seat, so you are essentially paying £250-£450 for a buffet\meal, drink and a programme. They exist purely on a business sense to capitalise on the lack of availability of tickets and to upcharge seats. While there is a place for hospitality of some kind, as there will always be a market, what really annoys me is the 'amount' of seats dedicated to hospitality. I'd imagine when the Anfield Road end is done, a large proportion of the new seats will go to hospitality too, just as with the Main Stand. After all, why sell a ticket for £40 when you can get ten times that for very little outlay? It is part of the reason for the poor atmosphere at some league and cup games, and although it should exist as an option, it shouldn't be the main\easiest way of accessing tickets for those wanting to catch a game. The club does a good job of making it increasingly difficult to get standard tickets, even as a member. You have to have gone to x amount of games last year, or jumped through multiple hoops, going to particular games, which basically makes it a closed shop for all but the local\hard core. I know they should reward loyalty, but I actually think the reason they do this is to push people towards the hospitality option as it is by far the most accessible and easy way to obtain tickets. I'd love to know how much of the stadium is dedicated to season ticket\general sale\members, and how much goes on this. I'd imagine the hospitality percentage would be incredibly high. There has to be a balance, but the fans mean nothing compared to £££'s. Unfortunately that is modern football now.
The seats themselves definitely worth higher than £35-£40 -- more like closer to £100 cuz they are padded and at best location. But it does result in the atmosphere issue. Anfield Road plan ain't that bad though; only 1800 hospitality out of 7000 new seats.
I actually spoke to some locals after the Liverpool vs west ham game about a month ago and one of them told me that if it weren’t for people coming from other countries as well as around the UK, Anfield would only be half full, simply cause most locals in Liverpool can’t afford tickets. So a large proportion of tickets, I’d predict anywhere between 30-50% of the stadium may well be allocated to hospitality tickets.
Honestly I don't really understand why some people support the prem in the men's game so much (outside of it being your job and all), league 1 and 2 Is where it's at, better excitement because the play is more natural and atmosphere for a fraction of the price its like the way football used to be in the championship and very early days of the Premier league.
I'm only 1.36 into the video and I want to say bravo Ellis for your sponsor choice, and your consistency on the subject. Gambling has never been my vice (each to their own) but I've seen what it does to people for over 30 years now. The first a lot of people know about it is when somebody has taken their own life out of the blue. You hit the nail on the head when you said its for tourists. I'm a Canadian Liverpool supporter who therefore obviously cant build up membership loyalty because I live 7000 kilometers from Anfield. Ive done this three times (LFC v. Sunderland 2013, LFC v. Leicester 2017, and LFC v. Ajax 2022), and will do it again next time im in the UK. Most of the fellow supporters I've talked to in those venues are like me, foreign Liverpool fans. Americans, Japanese, Norwegian, South African just to name a few. A far cheaper ticket would be ideal, but not really practical for people outside the country.
I'm in the same boat. An American Newcastle United fan and I purchased a hospitality package for $391 to watch them play at St. James' this February. I've only been once before. It's the only way to be able to plan a trip in advance and guarantee that you'll have a ticket. If I was able to get a ticket through the new ballot system I would get notified 8 days before the match. That's a short time to plan a trip to England. Plus I have to wait for the loyalty points to drop to zero. I've followed NUFC for 25 years and couldn't care less if anyone wants to call me a tourist.
It’s incredibly hard to get normal tickets even when you’re in the UK. Unless you live directly in the city and have an “L” postcode you can’t get into the general sales anymore, years ago the general sales were the best way to get tickets, I got tickets in the Kop for huge games like City, Arsenal etc in general sales. But nowadays it’s 1 ticket assigned to 1 membership per sale. Memberships are like £25+ and that simply lets you enter the sale. So to get 2 tickets you need 2 memberships, you then need to be available at the set time of the sale to get online and into the virtual queue, which is complete fluke and luck as to whether you get through it or get stuck in it for an hour, either way you can absolutely guarantee if you don’t get through the queue within the first 3 minutes then you aren’t getting a ticket. And then for the bigger games you need purchase history from last season to even be allowed to have a chance at a ticket. It’s practically impossible to see a big game now, unless you somehow were lucky enough to get 5 different tickets from last season. I haven’t been since covid. I went to New Year’s Day game the season we won the league and he tickets for the Villa game which is the actual game we were crowned champions, unfortunately covid hit and the spectators weren’t allowed to go, which was so frustrating, I’d even took the day off work just to get into the sales for those games. It’s a complete money sink and I’m so put off by it right now. Just easier to pretend like it doesn’t bother me if I don’t go. Also way too many tourists go and spend the entire game watching it through their phones. People shouldn’t go to games if they aren’t singing.

I'm a life long red scouse born an bred I had a season ticket from the 90s to mid 00s I had 6 kids so couldn't justify the cost anymore and out of my 4 boys only 2 have been to a game at anfield. There's a ridiculous season ticket waiting list so long in fact, no new applications are being taken. It disgusts me how many of these corporate tickets are sold by the club. Money over local supporters long priced our of the ground is greedy and unethical. Unless you know people or are willing to pay the equivalent of a weeks wages your chances of a ticket even for a low demand game are next to none! And the effect on the once famous envied anfield atmosphere has been disastrous. Just count myself fortunate I got to experience some of the greatest nights ever there. Sound video by the way mate. Love the honesty on the ticket price and experience. Would have been easy just to biggup the expense, experience and the fact that you were able to get the tickets thanks to the vid sponsor (which is super cool anyway) but I appreciate the objectivity on the whole thing. £1000 for that is just not worth it for what you got.
Really enjoyed your video, no match going fan I know that has done "corporate" ever seem to enjoy it!! Let's look forward to Bournemouth turning us over next week 😀
My season ticket is two rows behind your row, but on the halfway line. Costs me £855 for the 19 games. Can't see me upgrading! The SKD stand will be the oldest in the stadium next season, and it shows. I think the offering in the Main stand is sightly better, but still not something your typical fan would want.
Most Liverpool fans get the hospitality tickets if they’re fairly new at going to the games and not from Liverpool since it’s near impossible to get tickets. There’s so many scammers around too so paying £300 or however much is by far the most easy and reliable way to get a ticket.
£499 a ticket, that is a rip off pal. I did the Tunnel Club at The Etihad last season, ok it wasn't Tunnel Club Premier but that cost £240, drinks included, padded heated seats on the halfway line. I did it because it was the 60th. anniversary of my first game. So, as a one off, well worth it. Those seats you were in, space wise reminded me of the away section at the swamp, absolutely no leg room.
Fully agree with Jodie at the end. Even though tourists might pay the £500/ticket, a club of their size doesn’t need to charge that much money for a ticket where you get so little extra. And the fact that you pay that much and drinks aren’t even included??
Liverpool fan here, well played to Leeds firstly, they did everything right last night. The problem with the anfield atmosphere is fans that actually want to create an atmosphere are being priced out of the game. It’s either pay ridiculous prices for a ticket or sit for 20 years in a season ticket waiting list.
Leeds fan here, completely agree though. Seeing it more and more. The more successful a club becomes, the more they jack the prices up pricing out the work class and typically most vocal fans. Almost to the point where I wouldn't want to see Leeds become successful if it meant sacrificing our atmospheres and loud fans. Brings so much to the game.
For my brother’s stag we went to the KOP back in 2003, we ducked into the Flat Iron before the game and grabbed curry on the walk down the street to catch a cab. It was my first experience of English football so I was constantly being told to sit and I probably clapped a bit too much for Bolton, but damn that was quality play. The Reds won 3-1, if I remember right. (Boxing Day match) I get exactly what you’re saying about tourists and business expenses. In the States, I have been to major league games (analogous to Premier League) where season ticket holders show up mid game, get seen, then go home, I have also been to minor AA baseball (analogous to League One) where the season ticket holders are there for every inning. At some point being there isn’t about the game, it’s about who sees you at the game.🤷♂️
that is the worst hospitality at liverpool if you sat other side{main stand} you get a 3 course meal free drinks a gift bag when you go in free programme someone will even come round with a bet slip if you want a bet and a talk by a legend i have been to both and that one is terrible compared to the new stand
I've only ever done the Boot room hospo before and only once but again, it's in the main stand and seemed a much better experience. LFC also got "Off-site hospitality" at the Sandon n Aintree and whilst some go into the Annie Rd end, I think many also go into the King Kenny which is why it was much busier at half time. Side not, I went in early, got my free program, welcome drink, had loads food (but was Asian Street finger food) then chipped off down the hotel Tia for a couple beers n Jamie Webster n went back in about 15 mins before kick off so I missed meeting the special guest/ex-player, but down the pub with the fans is much more my thing than hospitality guests
Brilliant content mate. Man City champions league ticket for a similar experience (probably better) is like £150! Liverpool clutching onto their history here… I have done one at Newcastle and cost £180 and that was a sit down meal with a view of the pitch.
Great video! So I’ve decided never to travel to Liverpool to experience a VIP game as a tourist. But it would be fun if you could try the VIP experience in all arenas to see witch one is most valuable
As a Liverpool fan since the 80s, and an ex-pat living in NYC, these hospitality tickets are often the ONLY way we can see a match when travelling back home. To me, yes it's expensive, and I'd rather be in the Kop, but it's still worth it... As much as I hate to say that mind.
The sad thing is that getting "regular" seat-tickets, especially if you are coming from abroad, is next to impossible. Ultimately the only sure way of getting a seat is getting the hospitality...
when I saw the result my first thought was is ellis there so glad you got to experience this class performance from leeds even though the atmosphere was poor
I've been to Anfield so many times and yes the seating space is extremely limited. I think the VIP experience is terrible, compared to other clubs. Anfield needs to expand and create more space and a better experience for 500 quid a piece.
ALAW... for a grand I'd have been doing my finest Mister Creosote impression in the food hall ! and you have a sodding gammon roll !!!? and that lack of leg room is shoddy !
First off its great to you both (Jodie has a busy schedule because of work). Secondly I think the cost off the ticket isn't worth it, its kind of like Disney world in the sense its too commercialized where it's lost its essence of what its TRULY about i mean it's nice but you cant truly enjoy it. Lastly internally Ellis I felt like after the win you were going to combust from happiness. Thank as always for the content.
To carry on from my last post. In The Tunnel Club, half time drinks are ordered before kick off and they are ready and waiting on your table at half time and at the end of the game.
I visited anfeild with a liverpool supporter as a Villa fan about ten years ago. They thumped us 3-0 and were dominant, but there was just... no atmosphere at all? Very much a club and ground for tourists.
£499 pp? Wtf! For that I’d be expecting a free shirt, 3 course sit down meal at the very least. You have to pay for drinks?! Much smaller clubs do full cutlery sit down table service (not that I’ve ever done that before tbf) but cmon that’s a total rip off. You could as you said, buy a normal ticket, go to a Michelin star restaurant and buy a shirt for less!
3:03 time traveller spotted! That guy from padded seat usually gets these for like 150-190 and they seem much better all together! Get it together liverpool!
Mate genuinely love the vip stuff if it’s sustainable - it’s really interesting to see what the special package for games is like, compared to what the usual is with a ST Please I implore you to head down to St James’ park in exeter - spend a game amongst the big bank
You should do Club Level at Arsenal for a League Cup tie, should they progress and be drawn at home. Food not included but better than your typical stadium grub and you also get a free HT pint.
Hey Ellis, love the you will never walk alone anthem at 0:37 i remember going to the game at the MCG when i was 7 or 8 years old and i can still remember the atmosphere and was the game that made me get into football even though i can't remember anything about the game and i am a united fan, also up the VUCK!
Ya do great vids, fair play to ya. Apart from liking the result, i loved it because it brought memories of when someone farts in the crowd, ya do'nt really know "who dunnit". And when it's a "still day", late season when it gets warm, man, i can smell some of 'em to this day. ( I'm talking 70's. ) Good work. The survival scrap continues, would'nt want it any other way. P.s. I do'nt know if that's ya bird, but she looked "suitably" unimpressed by the proceedings. ( For that money, so would i, even if i was loaded !! )
That ticket ripped the soul out of a very special moment. Those Leeds fans as always were phenomenal, and to not be amongst them must have been soul destroying. I appreciate the vid and sacrifice. But lets be honest, these tickets, you are paying 500 quid for an at best 100 quid experience. And you had to buy your own beer.
Cheers Lad , 500 Quid for a bloody Sandwich ? Like America , these fancy Stadiums are only for the posh gits . I miss the old days . What in blazes is a Gammon ? My best Cleveland greetings to Jody
Here you are =Gammon is the hind leg of pork after it has been cured by dry-salting or brining, which may or may not be smoked. Strictly speaking, a gammon is the bottom end of a whole side of bacon, ham is just the back leg cured on its own
It's a shame really. They could give you so much more for that price. I guess that when they have a club with a fanbase so big, they can charge as they wish and they know it will still sell out.

(Boxing Day match)
I get exactly what you’re saying about tourists and business expenses. In the States, I have been to major league games (analogous to Premier League) where season ticket holders show up mid game, get seen, then go home, I have also been to minor AA baseball (analogous to League One)
where the season ticket holders are there for every inning.
At some point being there isn’t about the game, it’s about who sees you at the game.🤷♂️
What a match to pick. I think they’ll want you there every week as a good luck charm now 😂
😂😂😂
Had to put off watching it for I wanted to let the result sink in first MOT love it Ellis
Yasss Ellis we are Leeds🔵⚪🟡
my right ear really loved the intro
As a fellow Leeds fan, i give this video a massive seal of approval.... MOT
that is the worst hospitality at liverpool if you sat other side{main stand} you get a 3 course meal free drinks a gift bag when you go in free programme someone will even come round with a bet slip if you want a bet and a talk by a legend i have been to both and that one is terrible compared to the new stand
Liverpool clutching onto their history here…
I have done one at Newcastle and cost £180 and that was a sit down meal with a view of the pitch.
Great video! So I’ve decided never to travel to Liverpool to experience a VIP game as a tourist. But it would be fun if you could try the VIP experience in all arenas to see witch one is most valuable
Smiv has recently started doing that and both spurs and west ham were better and a lot cheaper
I’ll try do some more!
Ultimately the only sure way of getting a seat is getting the hospitality...
the problem is for overseas fans , the only way to get seat for Liverpool together is through hospitality - they have you captured
when I saw the result my first thought was is ellis there so glad you got to experience this class performance from leeds even though the atmosphere was poor
3:17
Ellis: Are you excited
Jodie: I’m excited, yes.
That expression was depressing from Jodie 😂😂
😂😂😂
Defo try this at a Leeds game to have a fair comparison imo! Great vid btw
Great result for Leeds and a fantastic egg in the nest for the fella in front. Myth of a ground absolute library
Great video. That hospitality is horrendous for the price, rip off but hey they sell it out to tourists clearly. Ah well, MOT
Ellis that was good content and a very good win for Leeds I saw the highlights down London In my hotel as yesterday I was at Wembley watching the NFL
Class. How was the NFL?!
For £500 you just get some cheese and a ham roll, pretty terrible. Basically a posh school lunch
You got some great footage of the away stands though, that was worth it!
I'd compare it to City's 93:20 seating which is around 35 to 70 quid depending on the game
Agreed, in fact there are padded seats at City which aren't hospitality and they are miles better.
City would never be able price things like at Liverpool, not enough fans
@@Tom-qb1rj doesn't make it any less expensive
Years ago, I visited Anfield, got a half time pie there was no middle in it. Just like the Liverpool team against Leeds
Cracking video all the best 👍
I've been to Anfield so many times and yes the seating space is extremely limited. I think the VIP experience is terrible, compared to other clubs. Anfield needs to expand and create more space and a better experience for 500 quid a piece.
THANK GOD FOR THIS VIDEO REALLY WANNA SEE THE EXPERIENCE!! MARCHING ON TOGETHER!!!
🤝🤝🤝
Go to Leeds every week Ellis we need the results
ALAW... for a grand I'd have been doing my finest Mister Creosote impression in the food hall ! and you have a sodding gammon roll !!!? and that lack of leg room is shoddy !
I bet you had a right time. I'm a Liverpool fan but I had a feeling you guys were gunna beat us.
Ellis you must be happy Leeds took the win keep the content up
Class vlog mate
First off its great to you both (Jodie has a busy schedule because of work). Secondly I think the cost off the ticket isn't worth it, its kind of like Disney world in the sense its too commercialized where it's lost its essence of what its TRULY about i mean it's nice but you cant truly enjoy it. Lastly internally Ellis I felt like after the win you were going to combust from happiness. Thank as always for the content.
Great thoughts Dylan, glad you like the content!
WOW Just WOW, This is now my favourite video of yours, and thats saying something, WOW........Marching on together 💥👍
🤝🤝🤝
That’s why he’s the goatttt the GOATTTT. Another banger video mon frère
Ohhh I didn’t expect acknowledgment. Elis will u be coming to the Devon derby tomo?
Great turnaround on the video! 👍🏼
Thank you!
To carry on from my last post. In The Tunnel Club, half time drinks are ordered before kick off and they are ready and waiting on your table at half time and at the end of the game.
93:20 at city is 10x better than this and it's less than £100! Good video
How are the drinks not included at £500 each 😭 at least a few drinks vouchers surely
Class video mate!!! ALAW MOT
Even as a spurs fan that’s spine tingling
Mate genuinely love the vip stuff if it’s sustainable - it’s really interesting to see what the special package for games is like, compared to what the usual is with a ST
Please I implore you to head down to St James’ park in exeter - spend a game amongst the big bank
You should do Club Level at Arsenal for a League Cup tie, should they progress and be drawn at home. Food not included but better than your typical stadium grub and you also get a free HT pint.
Great video thank you!
'Never walk alone' anthem is played loudly through the tannoys, it's a rare thing for Liverpool fans to actually sing it.
You deserve have credit no way could I watch my team in wrong end and be quiet I of gone crazy with that 2-1 credit were due mate great video
Almost killed me Ellis should have put warning headphone users at 0:10
Also for £500 you’d think they could give you free drinks
Hey Ellis, love the you will never walk alone anthem at 0:37 i remember going to the game at the MCG when i was 7 or 8 years old and i can still remember the atmosphere and was the game that made me get into football even though i can't remember anything about the game and i am a united fan, also up the VUCK!
city boys are still number 1
Little did he know it was gonna be his day
Ya do great vids, fair play to ya. ( For that money, so would i, even if i was loaded !! )
The legendary line of “What a fucking football club” 😂
Hahahahahahaha
That ticket ripped the soul out of a very special moment. Those Leeds fans as always were phenomenal, and to not be amongst them must have been soul destroying. I appreciate the vid and sacrifice. But lets be honest, these tickets, you are paying 500 quid for an at best 100 quid experience. And you had to buy your own beer.
I absolutely love how you used YNWA footage from when they came to Australia 🇦🇺
my right ear really enjoyed the intro
That guys bald patch was doing my head in 🤣
0:34 is liverpool fans at the mcg in melbourne you should come and do an away day in australia possibley melbourne derby or sydney derby?
Love this kid..big upz
My favourite part of this video is the calling out of the man who farted because he definitely could hear you and was just acting oblivious 😂
Let’s Go!!!
Strictly speaking, a gammon is the bottom end of a whole side of bacon, ham is just the back leg cured on its own
@@carlharris2808 Thank you 🙏
ALAW💙💛 class video
For the price of those two tickets you could get two seasons tickets at Palace where you’ll get a better everything!
It's a shame really. They could give you so much more for that price. I guess that when they have a club with a fanbase so big, they can charge as they wish and they know it will still sell out.
Have to agree, I'm a lifelong Liverpool fan & I'm sorry that is not value for money especially when drinks aren't included! 😔
