When you’ve had trauma in relationships, and especially if your examples in childhood weren’t the best, it can be really unnerving to be in a calm and healthy relationship. You do eventually relax into it, and that can make room for healing.
I resonate with this so much. When your nervous system is so used to chaos and trauma it’s so hard to relax when there is peace. I’m definitely working with my therapist about this a lot these days, it has been unexpectedly challenging! But healing nonetheless💛 slowly but surely!
