    I can't, for the life of me, figure out how to get into auto-start mode. This is a feature I could really use, but no one explains how to get into that mode (including Acaia's own directions/booklet)

      It took me a bit to figure it out too. After you hit the power button, press the power button again, only leave your finger pressed down on it. This will change modes. You'll have to look under the tare button on the right side to see what mode it changed to. Page 10 on this pdf shows the tiny little icons that display and their meanings. Sounds like you might want the icon that looks like a single drop of water. Good luck. cdn.acaia.co/web/doc/manuals/lunar/Lunar_Manual_0731.pdf

      You may need to get in to the settings to turn it on and off again. Then reinstall the app on your phone - and re-do the process 🫶 This has happened to me before too

    I purchased one of these and had problems almost immediately. It would often loose the mode setting I had selected when I turned it on. When I tried to reset it would go back to the preset setting before I had finished the process, very frustrating. It was also very difficult to turn off taking over 6 taps before it turned off. In addition it would flash random numbers after the carafe had been removed from the scale .This was not a problem but I thought it indicative of an inherent problem. Acaia say they cannot find a problem with it. I find this difficult to believe. The retailer are asking for further payment to return the scale to me. I have declined to spend any more money on a faulty unit with zero manufacturer backup. Very disappointing for a so called premium scale. My recommendation, do not buy.

    Done, thanks for helping me make my decision.
    Does anyone know if it's pearl white or supremacist white? It's not a deal breaker but I do like to be reminded I'm a sub species whenever inhumanly possible.

    Hello. Help with color weight. I reviewed the reviews, but did not find the answer which color to choose. All my equipment is black, and at first I definitely wanted black scales, but I also understand that fingerprints, scuffs, scratches and other shortcomings that arose during operation will be better visible on black glossy scales. White in terms of operation is better? What do you say? What is your experience?
    Thank you)

    • @AlternativeBrewing
      @AlternativeBrewing  Рік тому

      Yeah, White has a better chance of not seeing the fingerprints, but in general I find if everything is black then you might want to stay with a black scales, that is a hard one to answer

    Thanks Josh! Answered most of my questions. Does pitch black 2022 have the flow rate feature displayed on the scale? I want to practice my pour. So I’m tossing up between Hiroia Jimmy (for it’s app) and Acaia Pearl. Can you help please 😄🙏

    Hi, is there a way to remove the decimal point on the scale and show as a whole number?

    • @AlternativeBrewing
      @AlternativeBrewing  2 роки тому

      Yes - if you move to the Dual display mode - with timer - it will not display decimal point as well 😀

    There's a different between this and S scale

    • @AlternativeBrewing
      @AlternativeBrewing  2 роки тому

      Yes - the S scale has a few more MODES that connect to an Acaia brewing app to guide you through brewing the perfect recipe ... they have different heat pads as well.

      Yeah it is - I hear your concerns - but Acaia have done an amazing job with these scales to ensure it can be read well in any lit condidtions.

    Fine for pour over, but just too thick as espresso scale on your machine.

      one thing i have seen with cheaper scales is that they aren't often fast enough for you to measure adding water in real-time. I have had mine now for over 5 years with daily use, and it's still going strong. We use it for baking and cooking as well, it's super accurate; easily detects water loss from steam when workin with very hot water.
