What's a mammogram like?

This month, I teamed up with Advanced Medical Imaging, a medical imaging center in Lincoln that specializes in the screening and diagnosis of breast cancer. In fact, they have the ONLY fellowship-trained Breast Imaging Radiologist in the Lincoln area.
They invited me in to their center to walk me through the process of what it’s like before, during and after you get a mammogram procedure. I should say, disclaimer here, they did NOT do the full procedure on me, but I still got a sense of what it feels like to have the procedure done and what I could expect.

I remember I was so afraid of the squeeze before getting my first mammo. Before the procedure the tech put little stickers on my nipples with bbs on them to mark where the nipple was on film. Then she performed the exam and I was pleasantly shocked that the squeeze wasn't painful; just uncomfortable. Afterward I told the tech that wasn't as bad as I thought it would be and when I started to get dressed she reminded me to take the markers off my nipples. I went to peal them off and holy crap that hurt. Guess I spoke to soon.

Is it for only cancer patients or for also normal patients?

No tech wears a t-shirt and jeans. The patient wears a robe and a poncho? This is a stupid video. The procedure is not like this.
