Pakistan Hockey Team lost in the Final to Japan on penalty strokes by 4-1, after a 2-2 draw within the sixty ( 60 ) minutes of play. Pakistan won Silver Medal in the Azlan Shah Hockey Cup, where Hockey Teams who are currently ranked below number ten (10 ) participated. All the top ranked ten ( 10 ) hockey team are playing Super League Pro Hockey Tournament in Europe. The Top ten ( 10 ) ranked teams are Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, India, Australia, Great Britain, Argentina, Spain ,, France and South Africa. New Zealand's performance in the recently ended Azlan Shah Hockey Cup has relegated them at world ranking number Thirteen (13.). Before the Azlan Shah Cup Pakistan's World Hockey ranking was number Fifteen ( 15 ) and after the Azlan Shah Cup Pakistan's World ranking number climbs up to number Twelve ( 12 ). Since Japan won the Azlan Shah Cup their World ranking improves from Sixteen ( 16 ) to Eleven ( 11 ). Penalty Strokes is part of the game and if one looses the match on penalty strokes, it is considered a loss. And it is not by luck that one wins , it is due to practice one wins. And loosing to Japan on penalty strokes by four to one ( 4-1 ), shows that Pakistan Hockey Team lacked practice on penalty strokes. Nevertheless, Pakistan Hockey Team played well in the recently concluded Azlan Shah Hockey Cup, Ipoh, Malaysia, by winning three ( 3 ) matches against lowly ranked number nineteen ( 19 ) Canada by the of five to four ( 5-4 ), tough loss for Canada, against lowly ranked number Thirteen ( 13 ), a close finish against Malaysia by five to four ( 5-4 ) against South Korea again lowly ranked team ranking number eleven ( 11 ) four to nil ( 4-0 ). rest of the two ( 2 ) matches were drawn. against New Zealand ranking number ten ( 10 ) two all ( 2-2 ) and Japan ranking number Sixteen ( 16 ) two all, ( 2-2 ). And in the Paksitan Hockey team lost to Japan on penalty strokes by four to one, ( 4-1 ). Nonetheless, Pakistani Hockey players, improved a lot and fought very courageously all through the Azlan Shah Hockey Cup and should be rewarded with confirm employments, cash prizes, facilities to play, equipment, tours of the countries to play in Europe and Australian Continent.
