This is my favorite racking horse video of all time! I have never read the comments until just now and yall are all fucking stupid. This horse comfortable doing what he was bred to do with zero effort....look at his face! No discomfort whatsoever! I love watching him
anyone with anything negative to say needs to not say anything at all! didn't your momma teach you anything? or advice to give needs to go take it yourself! obviously they dont need yours or they wouldve already asked for it! nobody has any right to give advice to this or any person and HIS horse or horses! get over it! he and his animals will perform at whatever level/speed/pace/SURFACE they feel the need or want to! not your call! theirs!
I ride on the road all the time and in texas heat.... but damn, give that horse a break, and like another fella posted. Drop those reins and let the horse go. Horse is lathered up pretty good. I wish that saddle would flip and put a knot on your head. See how that pavement feels.
Absolutely amazing! And by the way this guy is treating this horse perfectly fine, it's the "Big Lick" is what is torture...I have a pretty nice mare that can do that, just not as fast lol
There OK if you do like a trail ride or walking them on the road then there OK. But having them go such a long way that fast then yes it can be quit sore for the horses legs and it can even cause damage.
Jennifer Eadie yes the rider is far to big to ride a horse that to small but this horse is at least 15 0 hh. is your horse big enough for you? I doubt it???? hahahahaha
Beautiful! but you're not worried about the pavement hurting his legs? I had a friend and her uncle borrowed her horse once and rode him hard on pavement. They had to put him down because he messed up his legs really bad and the vet couldn't do anything for him. Not saying you don't know what you're doing, I just worry about riding on hard surfaces like that now. :/
These guys are probably run on pavement on a regular bases, not every day, but at least once every one or two weeks. They are very well worked and their joints are very strong and taken care of. They are also shod which does absorb some of the shock, and keeps the asphalt from injuring their hooves.
tanakk9 how in the world does metal absorb shock? Beautiful horse but no animal can pound their metal shod hooves on asphalt hard surfaces and stay sound. There are plastic/rubber shoes to lessen concussion or at least use a more forgiving surface.
We pay too much for our horses here in the Northeast. I don't think you would ever see anyone pound down the hardtop like this. It does make an impression to be able to hear each footfall, though, and I guess that is the point.
He is a beautiful horse, but I have to agree that the pavement is probably terrible on the legs. You say to go hug a tree and you will do what you want with your horses, but why ruin them? Have a little compassion.
I'm so glad that Taylor can tell how a saddle fits by watching a video!!! I've only met this guy and horse in person a couple times and he and his horse seem so uncomfortable lol and Taylor they told me to let you know so you could let them know also. lmao!!!! do you even know how to spell horse? haha!!!!!!! John takes amazing care of his horses, do you? I didn't think so...... go feed and ride your horses in a big Sandy ring til the cows Come home and you won't hear a word from us about where and how to ride them. so keep your nose in your own horses ass!!!!!!!!!!!
Gosh some of you people get upset when horses are on anything but a sand arena. People have been riding and working horses on pavement for hundreds of years. Is it the best? No. Is it evil and inhumane? No. Get over the fact that some people still treat their horses as livestock, not pets.
Call me crazy... but what are the chances of any horse slipping on pavement; especially at those speeds. All it would take is for one serious injury and that horse would be done. Your horse you can do what you want with it as long as you're feeding it.
Those of you that are tree huggers, watch a video on what they are doing to Tennesee Walkers in the show ring (soring and gag bits). then go and do something about it. You can also look at how they are ruining the natural lope of the Quarter Horse all for money.. there's some homework for you!!!
to all of you who get all worked up about how we ride our horses on the road….go hug a tree you wackos!! do what you want with your horses but as long as I am feeding mine I will do what i want with them
the horse will get lame if u do that but do what u will with ur horse bcs its urs and we r not tree huggers we just care for the horses well being and look it up
Nice horse give him some slack on the reins and let him what he was born to do...my mare ain't warmed up until she starts to foam...the she Cadillacing
Horse shoes have nothing to do with eliminating the concussion caused by racking on a tar road, as a matter of fact, I definitely would NOT rack a horse on pavement with shoes, too slick.FYI, horse shoes were designed to keep the hoof wall from wearing down and chipping, and getting the sole a bit up off the ground. Look it up.
Horse shoes actually do not have any good purpose, they prevent the natural shock absorbing function of the frog, bulb, and sole and can actually cause damage by furthering the concussions up the hoof and leg. Hoofs are supposed to expand and contract as the horse steps, this pumps necessary blood into the coffin bone and surrounding tissue and lamina. When they wear shoes this movement is nearly halted, the restriction of this blood flow causes the hoofs to become numb and then they can cause more potential harm to themselves and others as they can step on a sharp object or your foot, or their lead rope and not notice until the situation gets really bad. Just things to consider.
well said! Shoes definitely prevent horses from feeling any damage that may be happening. Like when your arm falls asleep, and then once the shoes are off people always wonder why their horses are lame. Stupid humans ;)
Jennifer Eadie and possibly need to learn the difference in running and racking. haha which brings me to another point....if you don't know the difference then don't bother commenting!
Why ride on the wrong side of the road? This is the only thing I see that I disagree with. Going at a speed rack the horse or a vehicle either one cant get out of each others way quick enough.
Do you really think the hard asphalt and the ion horseshoes, 😬🥴your weight with saddle , the speed 🐎🐎is good for the horse??? His bones and everything...every normal horseman would ride beside the road ....will having swollen legs!!! Poor Horse!!!🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
Now that's a ride. Beautiful horse. I own a Racking horse and they are just fun to ride. Love them horses.
This is my favorite racking horse video of all time! I have never read the comments until just now and yall are all fucking stupid. This horse comfortable doing what he was bred to do with zero effort....look at his face! No discomfort whatsoever! I love watching him
Hey...the cops were looking for you .......for speeding.....:)
Nice horse....Like father like son.....Impressive......Keep up the good work
Wow.. love that foot fall.i hear it..
fantastic what a clean comfertable ride hatts off
I tried wearing metal trainers when I went sprinting on the road...real comfy *nods* did wonders for my knees.
Nice!!!!! Drop the lines and let him go!!!! Smooth ride!
Yay for the algorithm that brought me here! I love Walkers. Have one and think they're amazing!
homeboy wouldn't do this amazing of a job if he didn't love it!
Nice one john!
Wow!!!Beautiful!!!

Yaassss!!;
Love it!!!
you look sexy as hell in his photo. DAM
awesome horse. tweak the headset but what a great ride regardless.
Question, is it hard on the horse's legs to be walking that fast and hard on the road? Is bad for their legs to run on the hard road?
There OK if you do like a trail ride or walking them on the road then there OK. But having them go such a long way that fast then yes it can be quit sore for the horses legs and it can even cause damage.
Yes it is extremely hard on horses, especially one as young as this.......and the rider is far too big.
Jennifer Eadie yes the rider is far to big to ride a horse that to small but this horse is at least 15 0 hh. is your horse big enough for you? I doubt it???? hahahahaha
Yes it’s so bad this horse is FOAMING SLOW DOWN POOR HORSE I WOULD NOT BE SURPRISED IF THIS HORSE DIED OF A HEAT ATTACK
The ultimate gaited horse..truly nothing like a single footer

u right that hurts there leg

Mdequifever I was just telling my friend the same thing that is soooo bad for their knees
tanakk9 how in the world does metal absorb shock? Beautiful horse but no animal can pound their metal shod hooves on asphalt hard surfaces and stay sound. There are plastic/rubber shoes to lessen concussion or at least use a more forgiving surface.
Where are y'all located
Wht kind of saddle is that
so sad to do this type of riding on a road =( your destroying their ligaments smh I wouldn't touch one of your horses
I am from pakistan and want to buy this stallion. so what is its cost ???
He is not for sale
+John Brooks sad he'll be no good by 12
how you know that
Because speed racking on road is just not worth it for what it does to the leg and hoof
We pay too much for our horses here in the Northeast. I don't think you would ever see anyone pound down the hardtop like this. It does make an impression to be able to hear each footfall, though, and I guess that is the point.
God willing I will own one of his babies next year.
I wouldn't run him on the cement anymore. It can be hard on his joints and he'll be sore after a long run. Be careful.
Ohh He'll no you don't no what you doin
He is a beautiful horse, but I have to agree that the pavement is probably terrible on the legs. You say to go hug a tree and you will do what you want with your horses, but why ruin them? Have a little compassion.
SLOW DOWN LET THE HORSE BREATHE AND NOT BE AFRAID OF U
don`t run him that badly >:(
Is you selling it
was that chafing where the collar is ?
I noticed that too
P.S. Horses all get foamy when they sweat. Yall all seem to be experts...c'mon you should know this!!
cavalo todi masiu dimas
What's the point? It's like thrashing your car in first gear pointless!
It’s abuse for making this horse have a bit THAT big and that horse better be shoed, yes it natural for them to rack but, come on.
How much to breed
What is it with racking horses on pavement? You are tearing the joints up.
Don't treat your horse like that
Cavalo pisador! Bom pra caraio!
Nice horse, well gaited, but boy, is he gonna be sore tomorrow. Riding a horse that long, that fast,on pavement is NOT good!!! Use some common sense!!
Donna Van Evera you're ignorant for even assuming such A thing
I totally agree
Good observation
Hope u got a good vet and farrier
Wild horses gallop for hundreds of miles over rocks. This horse is fine.
I'm so glad that Taylor can tell how a saddle fits by watching a video!!! Exactly, plus this guy is four hoof shod and the shoes absorb a lot of shock and protect the feet themselves.
tanakk9 this horse is keg shod and is not ridden on sand
Helluva horse John. Keep up the good work.
You wanna sell him?
why doesn't everyone just mind their own business ????
хммм! Не больно ли лошади по асфальту бегать??
go gt go!!!!!
I got a mare that gaits really fast too
Call me crazy... but what are the chances of any horse slipping on pavement; especially at those speeds. All it would take is for one serious injury and that horse would be done. Your horse you can do what you want with it as long as you're feeding it.
Que maquina

Ur ignorant. I imagine u r in favor of big lick too.
I'll give you a 1000
You shouldn't ride your horse so hard on the pavement.
muito bom
the horse will get lame if u do that but do what u will with ur horse bcs its urs and we r not tree huggers we just care for the horses well being and look it up
qué caballito ma andador
if i were u i wouldn't ride him on a rode like this it hurts alot
Nice horse give him some slack on the reins and let him what he was born to do...my mare ain't warmed up until she starts to foam...the she Cadillacing
You should probably get another/different chest collar, since he's got rubs
rubs? really????? obviously you have never really worked a horse! these rubs you are referring to are sweat!
For every one who is saying to get him off the road needs to look up the purpose of horseshoes
Impressive. Just a little work on the headset and this old boy would be perfect.
this is apsalute torcha for that creature why do u have to do that :(
The rider looks far too big for this colt, and running/racking on pavement is never good for a horse.
Jennifer Eadie this is not a colt. And he is worked out daily and maybe you need to do the same! good day!
And since you have nothing nice to say maybe you shouldn't say anything at all!
Jennifer Eadie and possibly need to learn the difference in running and racking. haha which brings me to another point....if you don't know the difference then don't bother commenting!
i will give you 1500 hundred for the horse
Get off the damn pavement
Why ride on the wrong side of the road? This is the only thing I see that I disagree with. Going at a speed rack the horse or a vehicle either one cant get out of each others way quick enough.
very, very sad :(
How is this sad this is what these horses are breed for.
+Tinker Tot yeah that makes it right... this is very bad for the horse his feet... imagine running bare foot like that on concrete
Look at him hes white from sweat , takes him on the floor more Power ....😱🙄
Do you really think the hard asphalt and the ion horseshoes, 😬🥴your weight with saddle , the speed 🐎🐎is good for the horse??? His bones and everything...every normal horseman would ride beside the road ....will having swollen legs!!! Poor Horse!!!🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
