    I'm born n raised in Melbourne and I can personally say the cops are very racist towards not only black people but people who live in poverty. Melbourne is becoming a ghost town. Downtown used to be sumwhat Poppin but not anymore. Cocoa and Rockledge are dumps palm bay is the only surrounding city that hasn't fallen victim to the same problems as Melbourne, Rockledge and cocoa. This whole area is something to be avoided not due to crimes or violence but the political scene here is very ugly and never works in favor of the people. Homelessness, overdoses, drug abuse all at an all time high due to the lack of community programs (that actually works) the programs that are operating don't do anything in terms on long term care the moral in these cities are low. It's a sad place to live. Can't wait to move. Then again I've had some of the most uniquely fun experiences of my life due to these "dysfunctions" in these cities.

      Most of the poor are whites. Most panhandlers are white. They have multiple trailer park communities full of whites. The blacks are usually well off which makes the whites jealous. I treat them (whites) like the help and they tow the line. So called black man Living in Palm Bay since December 2021. Lived in fl for 29 years.

    The difference between Florida and places like Chicago and LA is we don't have gangs. I just left California and they're territorial AF because they are born into warfare. In Florida the beef is personal so if you stay in your lane most likely you will be good. At the same time tho everybody has a gun so before you get into it with someone you should assume they do.

    So as a true native of Melbourne (18 years of my 27 years of life) no disrespect but this was a horrible interpretation of “Melbourne” the blind eyes will think it’s not bad but 1) u rode only through university/coldside area. Ppl who aren’t from here will think the area you showed is “sweet”. You obviously rode through on a dead day cause barely anybody was outside. You only showed a small piece of Melbourne. You didn’t go to Eau Gallie aka EG, the city within the city. You didn’t show temp, up top/bottoms, booker heights, Arthur circle, circle Ave.. you really missed a lot of pivotal points to make this video “Melbourne Fl Worst Hoods” I invite you to come back and be guided be a real local and take a real dive into the community as a whole.

    • @ronjon2125
      @ronjon2125 Рік тому

      And this isn’t a ploy to show off our “Hoods” but it’s to show the true sides of what you wanted to show and also have people understand the real reality of our community. It’s not about the hood it’s about the corruption of police here, or them trying to gentrify our city, it’s about exposing the fact we’ve been kept here mainland and beachside used to be a sundown town & to an extant still is. You need the history behind this video not just a drive thru of one super small section

And I also agree with your assessment of most of the people who live in those areas, having lived up top for 4 years, off University for 1 and off of Avocado by the cemetery for another. Those areas are overpoliced and many of the people who live there are just trying to live their lives.

That being said, I'm moving to Melbourne as we speak, and i noticed a few things off the bat - homeless, clear drug problem, etc - but that's EVERYWHERE right now thanks to our failed drug policy, increasingly terrible economy for the working class, programs for addiction & education, etc. Glad to hear they're allocating a facility west of town to address some of these issues (Palm beach has had great success converting their old jail grounds for this function) but ALL of Florida is extremely racist towards their marginalized communities, I saw not one cop while driving to our new home a few days ago - not one - and am not at all shocked they fill the lower income areas with police presence. It would be better for you not to say anything at all and instead just show the footage because people may get offended. You keep saying high crime and that’s why there’s so many cops, but living in this neighborhood WE are targeted and harassed by these cops that are supposed to protect and serve. It’s kind of hard to speak on something when your on the outside looking in. And fyi to those watching Melbourne is actually pretty big and what you saw is just a piece there are so many other area’s in Melbourne

      Melbourne has crime above the national average, not a lot of violent crime, but not a low crime area by any means

      I agree Divine Warrior Goddess, this area is nice compared to other high crime areas in the south, Very little gang presence, relatively low murder/violent crime rate, I grew up in south Mississippi, and I laugh when I hear people talk about the "hood", Go check out Memphis, TN Jackson, MS or New Orleans, LA or Miami...and oh yeah, "hood is just short for neighborhood, or the community where you live, but I guess people have put a stain on that slang term, long story short, I feel safe in Melbourne been here for 20 years, the only real danger here is hurricanes and mosquitos

      @@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS just because the houses aren’t mansions doesn’t mean it’s the hood, stop misleading people, nobody cares about what you gotta say, and FYI , there’s no need to show this, it’s a place where people live and are just tryna live a normal life, it’s not a zoo or circus where you go and record to get an audience, why don’t you beat it and go show people the ocean past those train tracks

      That area is absolutely dangerous and the police are in constant fear of their lives. I used to live on Swift Street right off of University boulevard.

    I've travelled a good bit. Grew up in many cities, or just outside. Every city has it’s hoods. I personally know two people who killed other people here. I spent years in Jacksonville s well and for the most part it’s a great place, but they all got hoods. If you have drugs. You have a hood. I like you talking throughout. Much better than the silent drives. Thanks.

    It's very clean...something you want see in a so called *bad neighborhood*the people need to get sick and tired..unite fearlessly and stop the harassment..they are probably a tight knit community..not PERFECT but neighborly perhaps..and I emphasize CLEAN again..that takes a group effort..and I'm gonna be very straightforward..Black people are SUPER SICK of being targeted,profiled and worse.The powers that be create poverty stricken people's..that get so torn down that they do not care..but then you have the strong who suffer through unimaginable evil tactics yet excel in life.Basically..people need to be treated humane&those that don't get that need to be help FULLY accountable..and fortunately here lately..we are observing that part.

    Number one you're wrong there are hundreds and thousands of homeless in Brevard County and the mayor does not give a s*** about them he wants them out
