I liked Sinatra's version but Joe Williams' version is my all-time favorite. Probably because I first heard it in the Steve Martin-Lily Tomlin movie "All of Me."
Michael Buble is FANTASTIC he has a dreamy fabulous stylish voice, also has the gorgeous lokos & fun personality he definitely rocks my boat since 2003 I Just loooove the BUBLE he id soooooo SWEEEET HOT HOT HOT!!!! You Have it all Mr Buble!!!
All of me, why not take all of me? Can't you see? I'm no good without you Take my lips, I wanna lose them Take my arms, I'll never use them Your goodbyes, they left me with eyes that cry How can I Get along without you? You took the part that once was my heart So why not take all of me Let's go, boys, let's go Your goodbye, left me with eyes that cry Now I'm lost without you And now that you took that part That used to be my heart All of me, why not take all of me Can't you see, I'm a mess without you You took the part that used to be my heart So why not take all of me?
Yes we do. I've heard them. Passable. But can you recognize that this song was written in 1931, and it's still being sung, and it's just as good in this era today, as it was in 1931? This song and hundreds more, Jobim's, Bacharach's Lennon McCartney, Joni Mitchell 50, 60 70 years on, still being performed. Nice of you to remind us that he writes songs, but his songs are not going to be sung 90 years from now. "timeless" is hard to achieve. Maybe somebody's songs from the present era will last 90 years like All of Me, but probably not Buble's.
Bravo.
Are you kidding? Frank Sinatra turned 37 in 1952. He had sung with the Harry james and Tommy Dorsey Orchestras, swooned screaming Bobby-Soxers at the Paramount, had prominent roles in a dozen movies, just ended a 9 year recording contract with Columbia Records. His experience far exceeded Mr. Buble. As far as popularity, well you could make the argument that by then his career looked like it was over. But it was less than 2 years before he won an Oscar!
Haha! I play all orchestra instruments (I'm a conductor-in-training I guess) and that's just how you play the bass! The strings are super thick so you if you're playing pizzicato, you have to pluck the strings with two fingers.
I think I'm going to pass out when I see him live... I'm having heart palpitations just watching youtube videos so, I'm pretty sure they're going to need a paramedic on the night :)
@Lisaj4431 Actually he does pretty well with this one. There'll never be another Sinatra, who sang this song several times, even way back in the 1940s (his Columbia version is a knock-out). And, yes, Harry Connick is great (his recent take on "All the Way" being a notable nod to Frank). But there's room for everyone....nice to know this music is being performed in the 21st century!
If Sinatra and all the artist of his era were still alive, singing, and performing... They'd hate Bublé for what he brings to the table so effortlessly, I enjoy hearing all versions original and remakes, no two versions are alike and for that music is a wonderful thing to have
Sinatra's technically sublime in the 40s, of course... Connick, a great musician, though a limited singer, when compared to the very best... Buble has thee most adaptable voice/stylistics today... crooning, popping, jazzing, swinging... he's very good crossing over a lot of genres...
He is really a great imitator of Frank Sinatra. Here is a more independent version of the song. Just type into google: "Oswin L. Lone, "All Of Me" (Jazz Standard)"
@Belllady71 I though his voice was pretty unique. People often compare him to Sinatra saying he sounds like him...let's get serious, he sounds absolutely nothing Frank at all. Nor does he sound like Harry Connick Jr. I've never heard a voice nearly close to his, his is very distinct and hard to match.
@KingJoeyJunior hey petey. somebody else, some other jazz singers were doing that "stereotype" thing, singing the line a half or full bar ahead of the way it was was written, long before joe williams and others did it, in the FIFTIES!!.. would you call joe williams singing stereotypical or cliche riddem? what the fuck does a white boy have to do to sing a jazz song without somebody pickin at him? reinvent the wheel? even the legends and the greats learned what they do from someone.
@ 41186160 no need to agree with him, if he does not think that buble has the stage presence of the rat pack then he's probably never been to a concert by any of them making the thoughts nonsense. In terms of experience and popularity, Michael Buble is way ahead of where Sinatra was at 37 years old and my opinion is that he goes from strength to strength AND he writes songs.
I prefer not to compare Mr. Buble to Mr. Sinatra. I am just glad Buble is keeping the big band sound alive for young listeners today.
I got the same feeling with this song. Both are excellent, and each brings their own flavour to the banquet. cheers!
I liked Sinatra's version but Joe Williams' version is my all-time favorite. Probably because I first heard it in the Steve Martin-Lily Tomlin movie "All of Me."
Michael Buble is the best singer from de new generation, he has a beautiful voice and knows how to choose the repertoire
This is one of my favorite standards, and Buble does such a great job with it!

Tears!..Michael just made me cry...so beautiful!
All of me 😎✨✨✨♥️
All of me, why not take all of me?
Can't you see? I'm no good without you
Take my lips, I wanna lose them
Take my arms, I'll never use them
Your goodbyes, they left me with eyes that cry
How can I
Get along without you?
You took the part that once was my heart
So why not take all of me
Let's go, boys, let's go
Your goodbye, left me with eyes that cry
Now I'm lost without you
And now that you took that part
That used to be my heart
All of me, why not take all of me
Can't you see, I'm a mess without you
You took the part that used to be my heart
So why not take all of me?
You do realize that he does have his own songs and he brings them to this era that we today live in.
Exactly
Yes we do. I've heard them. Passable. But can you recognize that this song was written in 1931, and it's still being sung, and it's just as good in this era today, as it was in 1931? OH YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1:32 - lol - I don't play bass, but I know EXACTLY what that bass player is thinking. Oh man...
+markviman Could have been worse.. what if he did it to a trumpet player.
Haha! I play all orchestra instruments (I'm a conductor-in-training I guess) and that's just how you play the bass! The strings are super thick so you if you're playing pizzicato, you have to pluck the strings with two fingers.
No, man. He's thinking, "Get the F%#& off of my instrument and stop slapping it! Not cool!"
markviman LMAO
man, if somebody slapped the fuck out of my bass, i would pick it up and hit them with it. how annoying would that be?
this just show michael buble is a vocalist, not a musician.. or he'd know not to do that lol
te amo!! ya casi te veoo awww ♥ :) al fin!
that bass player is fire
J'adoooooooore!!
Michael... Good !!!
Lovely.

It’s true buble has easy pitch like Mel torme !

Cool arrangement...where can I get it?!
He is really a great imitator of Frank Sinatra. Here is a more independent version of the song. Just type into google: "Oswin L. Lone, "All Of Me" (Jazz Standard)"
@Lisaj4431 It's a jazz standard.... That's the point. Pretty sure Sinatra rocked this before Harry Connick Jr. Learn to love.
im doing this song for my music homework and i'm wondering what the performance was for? any ideas??
@Belllady71 I though his voice was pretty unique. People often compare him to Sinatra saying he sounds like him...let's get serious, he sounds absolutely nothing Frank at all. @MyMetropolitano Were you trying to say "fucking?"
Anyone know where I can find this arrangement?
***** I knew I recognized the style.
