Thanks love! Yes dizziness can happen for sure. Try a few different things. Try closing your eyes to see if you still get dizzy and/or try spotting something on the wall with each toss (focus the eyes). If dizzy try bouncing a little I’ve been told it helps!
Hi Babe!! I often have girls with pixie hair! the move is just as important for your hair as it for your face and personality. Obviously these are specific for longer hair and the visual it gives. So the only alternative is the same exact movement but making sure to really utilize your facial expressions and personality. I see many dancers who have pixie hair and male dancers who do hair flips and sometimes use their hand in a way to express more movement. I hope this helps!!
This takes practice and sometimes is worse for some than others. Try closing your eyes when you execute a repetitive hair movement. Try opening your eyes and finding something to spot if you can. Try both and see what works better. If you get dizzy stop and sit down or bounce up and down on your heels to bring any vision back more quickly. Hope this helps LuLu
Great tutorial thank you Janelle! I'm curious to learn how to do this arabesque/hip pop move..I see it a lot but don't know what it's called or how to do it correctly. I see one leg behind the other and some kind of back hip pop with arabesque leg and usually done while moving.
Jannah Obaid hmm trying to figure out what your mentioning? Did I do it in the video somewhere? If so send me the time marker for it and I’ll see :)) is it the traveling step?

Not all hair flips are for everyone and that’s totally ok!! You can learn the motions of the figure 8 and it still look lovely with little hair tosses if you have short hair!? Also the circle flip is cute as a head roll also!
These are basic hair moves done in various styles of dance. Including hip hop, jazz, bellydance, khaleegi, Iraqi, and so many more. I did not tie the movements to any style/ethnic group or region for a reason. I was only teaching the base movement not a specific style or genre of dance. I’m Palestinian with a dance background in over 10 styles. Not intended to be anywhere near appropriation. I don’t take that word or it’s meaning lightly.
