  • A few weeks ago I accidentally bent my silky saw blade ( my fault ). I looked up for a replacement blade and found out it costs half as much as a new saw. In the past 2 videos or so, I've been using a bow saws made of saplings, it's a great solution in a pinch but eventually they fall apart as the wood dries and looses tension. Plenty of wood around where I live, so I decided to make a proper wooden frame saw / bucksaw, much sturdier and durable than a bowsaw. A cheap bacho blade for it costs next to nothing and I enjoy wood working anyway. Took me a few hours to make it but it was very enjoyable. I used mountain ash / Rowan that was semi seasoned.
    New videos every week, thanks for watching! - Ric

    Wait...what are you doing, Ric? Now what am I supposed to watch tomorrow morning with my coffee? (I just finished today's before I saw this) ☕😁 Your patience and attention to detail always astound me. I thought you were carving a rocking chair there for a moment. Amazing work, as always. Mi estimadísimo Nagualero. Can you show us how the prosses is? I mean from the beginning preparing the gear, how you carry it in the car or pickup, what you put, what you take off and so... You are very fortunate to have those forests. A very impressive tool you made exactly, exactly like me myself do it (jaja)...

    Another amazing video. I'll admit i'm partial to my Silky saw, once I discovered them. But wow...that buck saw...to those not versed in woodworking I'm sure it looks like magic but to those who are, ever more so to realize the skill required to cut those mortice and tenons with a knife! And holy crap you brought a morticing chisel too! Awesome work.

    A question regarding the reindeer hide...those are apparently quite popular in certain parts of the world, and they've been available to me to purchase locally at a leather store. Are they good for insulation? Are they waterproofed in some way or is there some natural water resistance? What does it weigh? I'm intrigued but they aren't cheap. Thanks so much!

    • @NagualeroArt
      @NagualeroArt  4 роки тому +1

      They are good insulation, they are treated for outdoor use, shed a lot of hair, don’t know about the weight. I actually prefer sheep skins
