I used to only use Swarovski scopes on all of my rifles.... until I tried my first NX8. I have now bought 4 of the 2.5-20s and 2 of the 4-32s. They are bombproof, the glass is good, and I know when I turn the turret the adjustments are true.
I just tried a NX8 4-32 (28oz) on my vudoo 22lr to try to reduce weight from the ATACR 7-35 (39oz). My only objection is the parallax is not as crisp to get dead on as the ATACR. The turrets are nightforce special, much better than Vortex Razor or Athlon. After one match I'm considering putting the ATACR back on.
I just put this scope on my Barrett M99 .50, I'll have to see how it does. I'm not worried about the recoil on it, just hope that it has enough travel since I want to do some mile long shooting.
No. Not even worth it with a 5.56 which isn't even going to be hitting with authority out to 500yards. You do better building a 6MM Arc and keeping your receiver just a new barrel.
I own an NX8 4-32x50 and it seems fine. I also own different brands of more expensive higher end scopes too and also cheaper mid grade to cheaper more budget friendly scopes to compare it to. The NX8 could be excellent enough for most shooters who can't afford a March which I also own. On the other hand, quite honestly, I prefer Japan made, European and USA made Leupold scopes for obvious superior quality and reliability reasons but a few Chinese Athlons really surprised me. I have a bit of scope snobbery in me and handled and tested and compared a lot of different brands of scopes made in China among myself and a group of shooting friends of mine and the Athlon Ares BTR 4.5-27x50 is a budget Nightforce NX8 or more like a NX6 that's made in China. Seems to have good quality and fantastic Chinese HD glass. Image quality is still excellent even at it's maximum 27x magnification that no other brands of Chinese made scope can beat at any price. Turrets feel very good and positive and zero stop is straightforward that doesn't limit it's total elevation travel of 80moa in it's 27oz 30mm tube. This Athlon Ares BTR doesn't include a sunshade nor lens covers which needs to be purchased separately. The aluminum lens covers for the Zero Tech might fit since it sure looks as though they are made at the same Chinese factory. This Athlon Ares BTR is a better scope choice than the pricier Zero Tech. I purchased the Nightforce NX8 4-32x56 and thought it was an excellent scope for it's price. Then I purchased the Athlon Ares BTR 4.5-27x50 for less than half the price of the NX8. I ended up buying two more of the exact same model Athlon Ares BTR so I now have 3 of these. Bought them separately when they were on sale for excellent discount prices but I wouldn't pay regular price for them since they're still made in China. If these Athlons were made in Japan that would another story and I'd certainly pay full price for them. My primary scope needs are perfect image quality on high magnification that won't give me any eye fatigue or headache during and after prolonged shooting sessions and must have reliable repeatable tracking, already proven good history of the company brand products, weighs under 30oz with at least 80moa of total elevation travel with zero stop that doesn't limit total elevation travel. I personally prefer March scopes.

Which would you recommend if you only had one
@@unclesam7660 4-32x50 F1 MIL-XT I just bought 2 more on sale for my merry Christmas to me.
I’ve had a good experience with the 4-32, and have a 2.5-20 I just mounted.
They aren’t light, unless I compare them to my ATACR’s!
28oz is very light for what you're getting

Yeah tough choosing between the ATACR and the NX8 ! Wish I had that problem 😆
There's a reason for the $1000-$1500 difference in price between the NX8 and the ATACR.
I'm planning to drop this exact scope on my new Ar-10 build. I'm trying to build the ultimate precision Ar10 in .308 win lol.
Sounds like a good plan
How do you like the scope so far? Debating this and the Leupold.
I just ordered one after watching this will be putting it on my Remington 700 in 300 win mag
Nice! You won’t be disappointed!
Great choice, I put this exact scope on Rem 700 308 and was very happy
Mil-XT supremacy
Personally ordered 2 more NX8 4-32x50 F1 MIL-XTs on sale for my own merry Christmas to me. Hopefully the backorder doesn't take too long.

Also my concern with putting it on a 22
Can you get a ballistic turret for these scopes?
Lookup Scopewerks.
I could be wrong but I really don't think its made of titanium.
Yeah it’s aluminium not titanium! 😬
Quality review as always!
Thanks!
I just build a complete 20 inch bcm 5.56 dmr build and am looking for a optic. would u recommend this ?

How did you get mil-r i only see mil-c and xt as options ?
Review neglected to mention the parallax/depth of view issue that many users have found?
Have read about that but didn’t experience it when adjusting parallax 🤷♂️
Perhaps they were referring to the 2.5-20x NX8.

Heh, I recognise that range
