- President Biden again claimed Tuesday that the annual US inflation rate was 9% when he took office in January 2021 - when it actually was 1.4% and didn’t pass 9% until 17 months into his term - as he attempted to deflect public disenchantment with the economy.
The 81-year-old president made the incorrect assertion when asked during a brief interview with Yahoo Finance why families don’t feel very “wealthy” right now.
“I think inflation has gone slightly up. It was at 9% when I came in and it’s now down to about 3%,” Biden claimed, illogically.

I didnt vote for him, but we came out of the pandemic better off than every country, we have more jobs and manufacturing, an infratructure being fixed (also creating work) and lowered health care costs. When people who are working fulltime jobs are forced to live out of their cars or in tents because rent keeps increasing at astronomical rates, and the cost of food, and everyday necessities are 2 to 3 times more than they are earning, there's a problem. The cost of lean hamburger was $9 a lb ($4 lb under Trump) and chicken $12.99 lb ($2.99 lb under Trump) when I went to the grocery store the other day. Biden can't blame the farmers for food prices. Farmers are paying ridiculous amounts of money for just seed alone, not including fuel, transportation, wages, and other operating costs. If Biden's re-elected, it will be 4 more years of lying to the American people. Get your cardboard boxes out if he is, because that may be what you will have to call "home".
