I emailed you guys a few days ago about my achilles........ and now??? your video pops up on how to treat my achilles.... thank you very much... I am glad I ran into your site!
Bob & Brad, you guys are my #1 guys I go to whenever I have pain! I developed excruciating pain in my right heel and I could barely walk. I followed your advice, and I could stand putting pressure on my foot, and the pain was almost gone. Thank you both so much 🙏
As a newly working PTA for only a year, and aspiring to be a PT, I appreciate all you guys do and how you deliver your messages and treatments on this platform. Thank you for all your advice. This video means even more since last year I had a strained/slight tear and tried everything I had learned with little progress and just sort of came to terms with my new limitation. But the cross friction to relive the micro tears and allow more blood flow is so simple it’s genius. I can’t thank you guys enough and I hope to someday amass the knowledge you have learned and taught.
I've been to weeks of therapy and used to be a PTA, now am a PA - but this video/technique has changed my life! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. I refer to your channel often in my medical practice - so grateful that you've found a platform to reach those who wish to help themselves with PT/exercise/healthy habits.
Can't thank you enough. Watched two of your videos, you saved me time, stress, and money. I am on the road and just started to feel the achilles pain when wearing tennis shoes, kept getting worse....your solutions are wonderful and I'm grateful. Thank you.
Very helpful, I play tennis twice a week for about 6 months and was feeling worried about the pain on my heel and the tendon every morning and every time I rested for a few hours. This has definitely helped me. Thank you very much.
Gentlemen…I just had Ultra Sound and X-rays on the back of my foot…They both came to the conclusion…I have severe tendentious…..watching your video, I put my foot up on the ottoman and worked on the 3 options/exercise The doctors told me to use ice..that was it…You two have given me HOPE to removing pain and repairing. Thank You…..I hit Liked and Subscribed.
I had a full Achilles tendon tear many years ago. I was offered surgery, but casting without surgery was offered and I took that. Worked great...and no scar!
Had a complete Achilles rupture on the left in 2017. Now the right is starting to burn if that makes sense. I really appreciate learning techniques I can do at home to relieve this discomfort. Thank you!!
I did all the foot therapy in another of your videos, and my left heel was still hurting some when I walk, then I did this video and the left heel is no longer hurting. Thank you!
Oh my goodness! I’ve been to PT over my Achilles and nothing seemed to stick and really get to that tightness!!! Wow. Just with that massage it opened up mobility in my leg again. 😭😭😭😭 You guys are such godsends!
If it is insertional Achilles tendinopathy...cross frictional massage can be damaging and actually make the problem worse because you are encouraging inflammation. Current methods include a gradual weight loading program to help heal and strengthen the tendon. It does not heal any other way. This will make you feel good for a tiny bit but it will come back even worse.
Cross frictional massaging is terrible for medial tendinopathy as well... I saw this and was like NO. The more you dig into insertional the more you learn a lot of Online PT's really just spew old literature like it's gospel vs. keeping up to date w/ new literature. Very disappointed in such a highly touted channel.
How can I tell if it's insertionsal, medial, or something? My right tendon has obvious swelling, I'm usually on my feet 8hrs hard surface, sitting for more than 10 minutes feels really tight when I start walking again, prone to calf and sometimes foot camps after lying down.
@@woodstream6137 If it's pain on the skinny part it's medial. If it's pain closer to the base/your heel (where the achillies is inserted at the heel), it's more than likely insertional.
Listen,I’m a Dancer for NBA Memphis Grizzlies,we’re gearing up for playoffs,I’ve been in pain for a full week!!I just did the 1st technique AND I AM OUT OF PAIN!!!😲😲🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾THANK YOU guys SO much!!!we hv a show next week and I’ll be good!!💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽
Pickleball addiction has given me this painful malady. The stretching and warm up efforts have not helped. This video shows exactly where my persistent pain is. This video is so great and I have a mini Theragun! I’m so hopeful massage can improve my circumstances. Thank you!
Wow! I watched this just now and it was amazing help. One achilles responded to the pinching above the heel right away, a long term problem. Today, I injured the other tendon at the bottom of the calf and, the cross friction massage hit the spot. Thanks guys
good video - DID these without knowing what Cross Fiber massage was, and it definitely helped get me 80% of the discomfort out of my ACHILLIES, but now with all three techniques in my tool kit , i should be back to my running very soon
Great video but i wanted to know the massage technique for the Achilles Insertional area, you massaged higher up. Can you share more information about this? Thank you.
Thanks so much guys! I felt the searing pain walking yesterday in my Achilles. I had the same injury last year but my neuropathy makes the healing longer. I ended up getting an inner ankle sprain after the tear. It took almost three months for the tear to heal because you know it keeps happening. My PT used the grafson (?) tool. I used KT tape in between therapy. Tonight, all I can do is ice it. Pain. It is so tight.
You are something else!!!Best of all the rest!!!Thank you!Thank you!Thank you!!!🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻After a week of pain( and a first aid telephone with doctor-infamatory pills and x ray afterwards he said) only your advises within a day ,made the pain go away…God bless you!!!!!Keep helping people please🙏🏻
Don't know why I didn't tune in earlier. In pain for 3 years then it healed. Started again 6 months ago after skipping. Will start with the exercises subito !
Could you please make a video about Insertion Achilles Tendinopathy? My Dutch physiotherapist gave a scockwave treatment once a week for the past 7 weeks and prescribed exercises to do at home. I wear soft heel raisers in my shoes. It seems that the pain has lessened in recent weeks. But I guess it takes a very long time. Currently notice that the pain increases during the day. The exercises are more painful in the evening than in the morning. I watch your videos more often, but I miss a video about Insertion Achilles Tendinopathy. In the chat several people are asking about it. So live up to your reputation and make the best video on this issue. 😉 Greetings from Marij from the Netherlands.
Thank you so much for taking the time to explain how all the muscles/tendons interact. It’s so helpful to understand the purpose of the treatment and what it is meant to accomplish!!
My Achilles hurts for me to walk and so I limp which causes my back to go out. It feels like the side of my heels are cracked inside. Will this work for this.
What do i have to do differently with insertional achilles tendinitis? My tendon isn't sore in the middle, but it's very sore at the attachment to My heel and hurts my ability to play sports or even walk normally
I like you guys! I’ve watch a few videos from y’all years ago. Scrolling through UA-cam today due to what I believe is Achilles tendinitis, I found you again! I just did one treatment of grabbing the anterior of the tendon seems to have helped! I will continue with it. I did ice and heat contrast prior to as well. Thank you!!!
Hi Thank you Bob and Brad. I just tried that on my achille and it seems to be helping. Why didn’t my orthopaedist tell me to do that? Thank you so much.😊
They are physio therapy encyclopedia !!! Thanks! This video is all I was looking for today! I have had this pain for a week and I am unable to dance or run.
Wow this is exercise is absolutely magic! I had this I was limping for two weeks it was terrible, I iced two times daily and massaged with pain relief gel boom it's gone and more important is give rest completely, trust me when u give rest to your tendon it'll cure By Itself don't worry you will be alright, and thank you for fixing my broken heart❤
Did you fellas know that fluoroquinolones, a commonly used antibiotic class, causes achilles tendon problems. The study was only done on young men. So the question is, if it sometimes damages young mens tendons and ligamets, what does it do to the aged? How much disability has been caused in the aging because of the use of fluoroquinolones (cipro, anything ending in floxicin)?
Hey have you guys considered touching on pain in the Achilles insertion point at the base of the heal? I'm finding it very difficult to find any information on this particular Achilles issue
@@imliz100 Yes! What worked for me was the pinching thing they did here, but i pinched lower by the base of my heal. I also stretched it out by sitting down on the floor, extending my leg, and pulling on my foot with an elastic band. I also started stretching after running, which I wasn't doing before. Could have been any of those things or all 3. good luck!
