I hope Irene becomes a better person. This was really disappointing, because RV is my favorite girl group, and I always admired Irene.
Not only in Korea, but also in the Western music industry, the staff that worked with BTS also said all positive things about them and on how professional they are. So when people are trying to figure out why they're so popular and successful, big factor to that really is their character and professionalism.
Obviously! Lots of staff and professionals have also praised Red Velvet's professionalism and attitude in work environment. This situation happened, none of us know what exactly happened and of course Irene should be held accountable for it, but let's not end someone who hopefully reflected on her actions and very importantly apologized.

I just wrote my comment cos when David mentioned it in the video with all their insider info about the good attitude of BTS, I just remembered the interview I've watched by a daughter of US show producer and she really described how professional BTS are. I just observed that media paint BTS popularity as a "mania" or "sensation". But when I think about it why they're so successful, their character and professionalism really stands out as a factor. ☺️💜

All the staff in the Kpop industry who've ever worked with BTS say nothing but good things about BTS. They all say, BTS are humble, easy going, nice, polite, and well-mannered to the staff in the industry. I remember reading a post of this American girl, whose father is a billboard staff, watched their rehearsals and only heard good things about them from her father. Her father said BTS were always ready behind the stage to rehearse on time, never let the staff wait for them, and never forgot to thank all the staffs involved after rehearsal, which was very rare to see from American celebrities. He said they were very polite, well-mannered, and professional. Even Bae cheolsoo, who is a legendary rockband guitarist & renowned radio DJ, said he only heard good things about BTS from his photographer friend who has worked with BTS. He complimented about how great personalities they have.
This is one of the many reasons why BTS gained so much popularity around the world. They are humble, down to earth, and never consider themselves above anyone else. They dont take their success for granted. They always show their gratitude to their fans and staffs. They even call their backup dancers the dancer team instead of backup dancers as a way of respecting them.
I dont know about other cultures, but for any celebrities to have a really long lasting career in the industry, they need to be humble in Korea. If they treat their staff like shits, one day it will hunt them down.

thank you so much for writing this. my heart was broken ever since american hustles and flower crew, and i just hope n pray for their happiness since then
some staff members had a good experience with Irene, but that doesn't invalidate the negative experiences other staff members had such as this one. it's like when celebrities were defending ellen. it doesn't matter if ellen was nice to them because that doesn't negate the fact that she and other high ranking staff treated low ranking staff members poorly.
Agree! Saw a lot of people saying people that have worked with Irene have positive things to say about her but that doesn't erase the people that have had negative experiences with her like Ellen's case.
While it could be she was having a bad day but I think no matter what, yelling at someone and making them cry is an unexcusable action. And I'm condemning Irene's action not her. Even if you're having a shitty day, it doesn't mean you have to be shitty to other people imo. If someone don't feel like talking and is not as friendly as usual because they're having a bad day then I think it's fine but never to the point where you're actively hurting someone.

BTS didnt do anything wrong. It is America & 16 UN countries that helped South Korea fight against North Korea& China, who attacked & invaded South Korea in their attempt to make the Korean peninsula a communist country. South Korea didnt want to be a communist country so they fought against North Korea &China. It is a fact. It is history you cant change.
It is not a matter of China being sensitive. China is using BTS, sort of like a propaganda, to achieve what they want.
1) China hates America and vice versa. China is practically at war with America right now. Someone so popular& influential like BTS mentioning a strong bond between S.Korea and USA got on their nerves. They didnt like to hear it.
2)China always dont like the fact S.Korean entertainment is popular and has a big influence on Chinese young people. So China has banned the import of Korean entertainment, such as Kpop, Kdrama,Korean movies, since 2016. BTS is getting very popular in China, and it was just about the right time & right excuse for Chinese government to bash BTS to stop their popularity and influence in China. It is similar to the Soviet Union banned the Beatles. Whatever BTS is singing, such as love yourself & speak yourself goes against the Chinese communist party's values and ruling principles.
3) By doing so, China can drop the sales of S. Korean companies, such as Samsung, Hyundai, LG, etc., and also this is China's way of taming foreign companies doing business in China. Whoever foreign companies doing business in China shouldnt get on their nerves otherwise they can suffer from boycott. so basically whoever wants to do business& make money in China must kiss their ass. China has been.doing this to numerous foreign companies who make money in China for a while.
4) China's ultimate enemy is America, but since they cant take out their anger on America directly, they are just using BTS to do so. For China, BTS is easy to use, and they know BTS or S.Korea cant do anything against China since many S.Korean companies do business and make money in China and they dont want to lose the huge Chinese market, which is the reason why Sam Sung & Hyundai removed all their BTS-related advertisements immediately. This is a China' way of taming foreign companies who do business in China. It is sort of like 'dont get on my nerves, otherwise we will boycott you'. China has been like this to global companies doing business in China for quite a long time. It is nothing new.
My conclusion: all the media in China is controlled & censored by the Chinese communist party. The Chinese media represent the Chinese communist party's ideas and thoughts. The Chinese government is just using BTS for their political agenda. This whole BTS incident in China is a political game the Chinese government is playing. It is not just China being sensitive. It goes beyond that.

I've had SO many of my childhood favs ruined over the last decade or so it would shatter me to have to add anyone from BTS to that list. I used to be the BIGGEST mcu fan and with the recent stuff happening, I'm so dissapointed in the mcu actors. I also am a Harry Potter fan and the JK Rowling incidents broke my heart so much. I'm glad BTS are humble kings, they're not perfect (obviously) but they grow from their mistakes and try to be as kind as possible.

I see fans saying "why did the stylist make it public! She should have handed it privately", well to that I ask you: would she have gotten an apology from Irene if she didn’t make it public?
Edit: it doesn’t matter if it happened months or days ago. Once she calmed down, Irene did not reach out to apologize for her behavior until the situation blew up and she got called out. Every one has bad days, performance can have issues too but it doesn’t give anyone the right to verbally lash out to someone to the point they are in tears and the least Irene could do was to take 2 minutes out of her time to reach out in private to apologize, but she didn’t.
So the answer is no, the stylist would have never gotten a public and private apology from Irene if the situation wasn’t made public and I applaud her for having to courage to share their story.

BTS members have always been great people, BigHit ex-employees (majority of them are interns) are even regretting leaving the company in some sense because the culture cultivated inside the company led by Bang PD and BTS is so nice that they themselves want to have that kind of environment in a workspace wherever it is.. Even TXT are known among PDs, staffs in music shows and variety shows to be very professional and courteous; TXT are very close with their staff that they would even play games with them during breaks, talk to them about personal stuffs.. BangPD and BigHit have now learned how to choose great people AFTER what happened with GLAM years ago.. Of course NO ONE IS PERFECT but even if you're not in the mood in that particular day, IT IS YOUR JOB, when you decided to go to these locations/sets where you will meet different kinds of people and staffs to ACT and BE PROFESSIONAL regardless of the situation you are in.. It's part of the JOB unfortunately.

Actually now that so many more things have been revealed since the first few days of the incident, I honestly think that Irene should go to a therapist or get some medical help to clear her social communication problems. Even if Irene didn't have any bad intention or didn't purposely hurt the Stylist, she should still fix her bad communication skill and lack of self-awareness. But that doesn't mean that she's an evil person and the Stylist isn't either. Although it's true that she at first should have tried to talk to Irene and handle it personally but it probably happened because she really wanted an apology and used some "drastic measurement". My sister used to have a very bad communication skill and had problems with her social skills. She once even accidentally insulted one of our maids back when we lived in a house in our birth country in asia. But as days past and after alot of explaination and education from my mom, grandparents and therapists she learned her lesson and worked hard to become better and fix her communication/social skills. Neither me nor my parents Ever thought that my sister an evil or bad person because the people she's close with knows that she's a really nice person and so is Irene which explains why the staff members who are close with her knows that she isn't bad person and she's really good. Sadly, by the time she realized her Wrongdoing, our maid left the house and went back to her hometown without leaving any phone number or ways to communicate with her so my sister couldn't personally apologize. So she seeked forgiveness from Allah (I'm a Muslim and He is our God) and prayed for the well being of our maid. And ever since then she's been trying her best to improve and become a better person. Even if it didn't fully change (since, you know, social anxieties are really hard to change) she's been getting really better than before and I'm proud of her. I also prayed for the well being of maid because she deserves to be happy.

After being treated like dirt and trash for such a long time I found myself starting to believe it. Believing that I deserved the treatment of those people who drink wines that cost a year of my college tuition. People who don't know the value of money, the value of my work and my value as a person. A person that doesn't simply exist to clean up cigar butts or to be insulted and harrased. But in that situation I had no power. My bills still had to be paid and the probability of me finding a new job were low. So in the glitz and glamour life where Irene receives absolute protection even after stepping all over someone, I feel for that woman. Because I see myself in her. It takes courage to say these things and stand up to Goliath when you feel like David without a slingshot, so I applaud her. I hope Irene reflects and practices humility, because she is dependent on the love, trust and devotion of fans. Love, trust and devotion that is earned.

I've seen a lot of fans making excuses for her saying she's not just an idol, she's human too, people expect her to act in a certain way, oh she was having a bad day, we should cut her some slack, well the stylist is human too, she also has her bad days and no one, stylist or not, no one should be yelled at and humiliated like that infront of other people, I'm sure if the roles were reversed Irene would have felt the same way too. She was wrong for that.

Fans are still tryna come up with a reason to justify Irene verbally abusing someone for 20 mins. To the point of tears and not stopping or apologising. Literally the moment she got in. Did not greet or bow. Even if something went wrong with her outfit there are so many better ways to talk. You do not insult and curse off someone and their team.

Yeah. I worked as a checkout operator for almost 4 years and hated life. I just excused it as maybe I just didn’t like working in general. But as soon as I stopped working in customer service I realised it was the people that made me hate my job 😂

the fact that she had to be exposed in order for her to apologize to the stylist really says something about Irene. I’m not one to judge people but it’s obvious that the bullying must’ve been going on for a while for the stylist to finally snap and write all of that. I’m really disappointed.
I agree. I could maaaaybe (strong maybe there) understand if Irene lost her temper with the stylist, but as a human being, I don't understand how you can't feel bad about making someone cry in front of you and not apologize later on. Like okay, if Irene made that one mistake of being mean, fine - maybe she was having a bad day. But the fact that the stylist cried in front of Irene and Irene didn't even try to make peace with them or say sorry until she was called out? That's the part that is most disturbing to me, and it genuinely says a lot about Irene's character.
According to the stylist, the incident occurred at 20.10.20 and she posted that post on 21.10.20 in the morning (korean time). Like maybe if the stylist would have given her atleast one or two days to apologise then maybe she would have apologized. Like we can't really say if she wanted to apologise or not if the stylist didn't even give her any time to even apologize. Like maybe she wanted to do so or was getting ready to do so, but then it was too late because the stylist already posted it. it might not be possible but maybe if one day Irene speaks out about her side of the story then people might come to a concert of whether she apologized after getting caught or not. But since there isn't any explanation, this isn't a valid reason. So basically what I'm trying to say is this "apologized after getting caught" is like just making an excuse to hate on her.
And also scolding isn't bullying, I've been studying about bullying for a long time so I know that what Irene did wasn't bullying. Please reasearch about the word before you randomly use it

You know what came to my mind when you said that RM and SUGA are the most Nice to work with? I think is because of what they been through. I mean, all the members were criticised at their beggining. They actually show their true self through music. They talk about greed of money, changes in a human because of fame, how people lose their identity and all those problems through their own music. Without any hesitation they talk about how they thought once ( maybe that's my theory). Their pre debut song 'A typical trainee's christmas' is so heart touching. They had to work more hard to be recognised.
Also, especially rm and suga are so vocal about injustices, inequality, the downsides of fame, and most importantly, mental health!
Honestly yes, as much as we love them and hate what they all went through. It was probably a necessary part of their journey that the universe set up for them, in order to be the best versions of themselves with the kind of platform they'd end up having.

The irene situation just goes to show that you shouldn't idolize anyone cuz you'll just end up getting disappointed. They're not these perfect humans that they're made out to be. As much as I love my idols, I refuse to put them or anyone on a pedestal. I don't stan red velvet but if I did, I would be very embarrassed by Irene's actions and I'm sure some of the fans are probably feeling some type of way even though they still defend her. It's cool that she apologized but who knows how many people she's been rude to. The stylist was probably the first person to tell her off and expose her in this manner. All I'm saying is that stans need to wake up and realize that idols are just regular people like us. Some are probably bitchy and some are nice. Yup a lot of us were embarrassed and regretted being her fan, but we still support their MUSIC as a group.
Red Velvet is one of my favorite group and Irene is one of my favorite members too but "some" fans need to admit Irene was indeed in the wrong no matter what the reason for her outburst to her stylist/editor was. And Irene also acknowledged it and apologized.
Also to "some" fans saying there are other staffs who came out and defended her. Yes, she may be nice to most people but she can also be bad to some other people too. Just like a school bully being nice to some friends/teachers doesn't mean he doesn't do bad things to other people. (Not saying Irene is a bully but you get an idea).
