    Yay I feel happy. I bought just super resin polish on my own months ago and knew how good it was been using turtle wax and wondered why the shine never lasted or how the water didn't bead off until I bought on my own last week auto glyms extra gloss protection. Layed two coats and poured water in the bonnet. Water completely repelled!! Now I've looked to get auto glym shampoo work to retain all the work. Very happy with the car now thank you auto glym

      We would not recommend Ultra Deep Shine for black car instead of Extra Gloss Protection, if you are going to use Super Resin Polish as well. If you want to use Ultra Deep Shine you can, but as it is a polish there would be no need to use Super Resin Polish too - just pick one or the other.
      If you are not keen on Extra Gloss Protection, Rapid Ceramic Spray or Ultra High Definition Wax are great alternatives, however we only recommend these are used with Super Resin Polish and not Ultra Deep Shine.

    On a brand new car, does it need a polish phase for its first proper wash? The paint (you'd hope!) wouild generally be in very good condition. So Shampoo, then straight to Extra Gloss Protection? Then add the super resin polish over time?

    Would I have to clay the car before polishing and do I have to remove the polish before putting new layer on

    • @AutoglymUK
      @AutoglymUK  3 роки тому

      If there is bonded contamination on the paintwork, that is not removed during the washing phase, then we would advise claying or the use of another decontamination product depending on the contaminant or your preference (Magma or Intensive Tar Remover for example). This would be best practice, however you do not _need_ to do it. The polish will still make the paint shiny, it you will get the _best_ result if the paint is free of dirt and contaminants.
      Similarly, you do not really need to remove the old polish, the act of applying new polish will render the old layer redundant. .

      No. Do the Blast and Wash stage, then dry it off and polish with Super Resin Polish. Then you can either apply the Polar Seal then, or leave it a week or two till you next wash the car to apply Polar Seal, it is up to you. The benefit of waiting is you do not have to dry the car twice in one day.

    • @AutoglymUK
      @AutoglymUK  2 роки тому

      Hi, You would follow a similar method, aside that Polar Blast should be applied, allowed to dwell for up to 10 mins, then rinsed. Apply Polar Wash, agitate from the top down finishing with the wheels. Alternatively you can use a wheel cleaner on the wheels first after using Polar Blast and cleaning them separately, then using Polar Wash Afterwards. Agitate the windows as normal with Polar Wash and use Fast Glass at the end if needed for a crystal clear finish. After using Polar Wash, Polish the car if needed and finish with Polar Seal, if using a wax or sealant, use that instead and use Polar Seal as a top up on future washes.

    • @AutoglymUK
      @AutoglymUK  6 років тому +1

      1. Yes, Super Resin Polish will take the oxidized and sun damaged paint off and reveal a fresh layer underneath. The amount of material removed is super minimal though, this is not an aggressive heavy cut compound, but a gentle polish so you can use it as often as you like, It will not be removing paint in a scary way.
      2. Extra Gloss Protection or UHD Wax would be a great follow up product two use after. Of the two, UHD Wax will be the best.

    Could you use polar seal after these 3 steps or should you wait a few washes before applying it?

    • @AutoglymUK
      @AutoglymUK  5 років тому

      You could, although that would mean getting the car wet again to apply the Polar Seal and then drying it again. Much better to wait until the next time you wash the car, a week or so later (or however often you wash your car). It is worth remembering that Extra Gloss Protection or UHD Wax will still be present on the car for a good many months, so waiting a week to apply Polar Seal could be seen as overkill. But if you want to, you certainly can.

    • @AutoglymUK
      @AutoglymUK  6 років тому

      Yes, that would work. You could also use tar remover, clay bar, Magma etc when the car is washed to decontaminate further if the car needs it - but just using these three will give you an excellent result - a shiny car that repels water and is protected.

    • @AutoglymUK
      @AutoglymUK  7 років тому +4

      The small black specs may be tar spots. If they are on the lower half of the car and most obvious behind the wheels this is likely the case. Use Intensive Tar Remove to get rid of these. If the black spots are elsewhere on the car, mostly on the bonnet, roof or boot, it is probably fallout. Use the Autoglym Clay Kit to remove the spots. They are bonded contaminants that cannot be removed by regular washing, use the clay to safely remove them. Any remaining swirls may require Paint Renovator or a second, firmer application of Super Resin Polish.

    I have bought the pack that has these 3 items. 2 questions- at start of vid you say about not wanting to get rid of wax layer, if I'm polishing surely I WANT to use a shampoo that will strip wax from previous applications I.e previous washers, else I'm just polishing a wax layer instead of the clear coat? Finally, the extra gloss protection is described as a sealant on bottle yet a reply from you in the comments below states it's a liquid wax, please clarify which it is.

    • @AutoglymUK
      @AutoglymUK  7 років тому +1

      Hi, thanks for your questions.
      1. The shampoo included will not strip wax and polish from the car. This type of shampoo was included in the kit because the wax and polish will last on the car for 3-6 months, depending on a variety of factors that affect product durability on a particular vehicle. The idea is to apply the polish and wax 3-4 times a year and then use the shampoo to remove the dirt from the wax layer, but leave it intact on the paintwork. If after every wash the polish and wax was removed it would mean you would have to complete all 3 steps every time you washed the car.
      When you apply the Super Resin Polish the cleaning properties of the polish will remove any existing layers of polish and wax from the surface. If you would like to ensure you are starting from scratch on completely bare paintwork then use a dedicated paintwork cleanser that is specifically designed to remove all coatings from a surface and leave no residue behind. In our experience it is perfectly acceptable to use Super Resin Polish.
      2. Extra Gloss Protection is a liquid wax. The product is applied as a thin liquid, the carrier evaporates and a layer of wax is left on the car. The term sealant did not (and arguably still does not) have a clearly defined definition at the time the product was released. Many users had been calling it a sealant, and strictly speaking it does seal in the paint surface. Now days when people talk about sealants they are often referring to synthetic protective products that contain no natural waxes and rely on other chemistry to protect the paintwork, which is where the confusion may have arisen.
      Hope that helps. How did you get on with the kit?

    • @mwill101
      @mwill101 7 років тому

      AutoglymUK thank you for replying in detail and so quickly. Yes planning on starting from scratch after washing-clay barring. Yes the internet is awash with opinions of sealant/waxes and the differences etc so gets rather confusing. Going by how EGP is described online(don't have the bottle with me as at work) it has hard protective resins as well as wax so is harder wearing than just a wax? And we get the best of both worlds with a resin and wax combo? The freezing London fog is stopping me from getting the buckets out so waiting for a bit of sunshine!

    • @AutoglymUK
      @AutoglymUK  7 років тому +3

      No problem, happy to help. Using Super Resin Polish followed by Extra Gloss Protection has been a great combo for years. The polish gives the gloss and the Extra Gloss seals it in. It is a great system for your paintwork.
      I would certainly wait for the weather to improve, the damp air will not help the Extra Gloss to dry at all, the residue needs to dry fully before it is buffed off. Also another tip is not to overpay either of the products. A thin even layer is the key to a happy life, if you cake on either of them it will make it harder to remove. If you get a thin light layer it takes no effort at all.

    • @AutoglymUK

      Polishing by hand is great with SRP, no need to use a machine. However, if you are wedded to the idea of a machine, a soft foam pad is the way to go. It should not dry out quickly, we find it is quite workable. Was the pad new? That can cause issues to start with.
