Hi, Joe. I cleaned up and use a Royal O that was my wife's grandfather's. He used it to write her a letter every week when she was little. She is now 70. It is very pleasant to type on. One problem I have with it it that it seems if I type too fast, or hit the space bar a glancing touch (maybe), it skips spaces. Adjusting the touch control all the way to the right helped a little. Do you have any suggestions about that? I enjoy and learn a lot from your videos. Thank you.
The escapement mechanism on these machines are tricky, it may need to be adjusted. Either a repair tech, or get one of the Typewriter Repair Bibles for these Royals and try it yourself.
I opened up youtube and this video was right smack dab in the middle of my homepage. Not disappointed, pretty cool niche hobbyist 👌
Great stuff as always Joe, loving that model 'O'... I'm a sucker for pre-war machines 😀
When we see that blue city park table, it sometimes indicates Joe has been out in the community doing some shopping in one form or another!
WOW ❤️
Love the model O! Smooooth😉. Always enjoy your videos!
Yay! new Tape :D
Even the keys are shiny!
Nice video!
Great vid! I always wish that you type some lines on the machine you present.. Same as they do with cars videos
