  • Hey B-squad,
I wanted to share the unboxing of my First Twsbi Eco. I chose the transparent grape or purple. The Nib is Fine and I am using the Twsbi black ink. I am exploring other black inks because it is very bold.

Welcome! TWSBIs are awesome! An Eco TL was one of my first fountain pens.
The term for fitting the cap on the back end is, "posting." The Eco is technically "postable", but its not a very secure post, as you noticed. The mini TWSBI's post better.
The TWSBI Diamond 580 doesn't post at all but you can swap the nibs in the 580s for different nib sizes. Its a great way to try different nib/tipping sizes without buying a bunch of pens. Although it is more fun to buy a bunch of different pens...😉

Thanks so much for the info. I figured why my cap wasn't posting. Learning curve. And your right buying more pens is way better than changing the nibs, so I just got another one with an extra fine nib.

I just purchased another this one with a extra fine nib and then I got some sample inks because I am not sure if it the nib size or ink that's throwing me. How did I get here?

Your pen does not need to be oiled for along time, only when your piston gets stuck. Enjoy your new pen I have 12 and welcome to the club 🙌🏽

It is not recommended to post the cap on most TWSBIs because it can mess with the piston. And broad and stub nibs are my absolute fav nibs! Especially because they lay down more ink and when you use glittering or sheening inks with a bigger nib - WOW!!!

Thank you for the tip! I am learning quickly. I just received some sample inks and I can see how it's easy to get hooked.

Great demo and first impression. I have this pen and and i love it! It may not be posting properly if you do not have the piston knob twisted back to its original position. I personally always make sure i twist it shut even if i don't do a full fill. I have never had any issues w my eco's. Anyway, have a nice day! 😊

Yes, I figured out why it wasn't posting and the piston knob wasn't twisted down all the way. I am learning quickly. Thanks for watching and sharing.

Thank you. It funny how a fountain pen makes you want to write better. 😆 now I am watching lettering tutorials.

I love my Twsbi Eco collection. The Pilot Kakuno are great as well but cannot beat the Twsbi's ink capacity.

I did get a converter for the Kakuno...see a rabbit hole.

Ordered the same one! I ordered it from Amazon but I couldn't choose the nib size, it says "Stub1.1 Nib". I will let you know on how it is (I don't know if its any good due to the nib but I'll let you know). Amazing video by the way!

@@ElleBPlans Hello! It arrived and let me tell you, it was amazing! It is extremely smooth and very good for writing! I recommend you to highly get it! I've used many fountains pens from Parker fountains pen, Jinhao's, Cross, and many other brands and I find this the best fountain pen/smoothest I've ever used. I haven't got my hands on a Sailor 1911 or a montblanc 146 fountain pen or a Pilot Custom 823 (they may be better as they're more expensive and luxury). However, for a £35/ $44 pen its worth it! I am probably going to use it for school. If you have extremely small hand writing it may not be good as small letters are pretty bold while writing with a Stub Nib! Overall, I am happy! We can't compare luxury pens like Sailor 1911 or Mont blanc pens as they're like in the high price range. I have a question though, what is your favourite pen out of all the pens you've used? Thanks
