Wow! Another Epic adventure ride! The scenery is just... jaw dropping. I am in awe of the physical exertion it took to power through that chunky, rocky terrain. Looking forward to next week's episode! Well done, mate!
So epic, look forward to seeing more and hopefully you get back on the international adventure trails. Your rides from Europe a few years ago are still se of my favourites.
Sounds like quite the adventure Mr. Hills! One of these days I hope to run into you in Fruita! Cheers to the Tribe! You always motivate me to get out and ride!
Those views are awesome! Be cool to see the native life there. I can't imagine how hard it would be to exert yourself at that altitude. I've backpacked at almost 12k feet and that was difficult. 16K must have burned your lungs!
What about the lack of air? Such high altitudes are very though to handle... Did you guys stayed some days to adpat in high altitude before step into the journey?
We chose this route because it had not been done by bicycle before. We were basically following llama trails in the beginning, but things got more established as we got closer to the southern end of this route.
Impossible to define your endeavour. Heroic, fantastic, absolutely stupid for endagering your life like that. Man, you've shattered all the standars of common sense. The result is mythological. Wow!😎
Glad everyone was adjusted to the altitude. Altitude sickness there, would have caused certain death, before a bird 🚁 could have reached you... If you guys were carrying a SAT phone.
Yeah, we have all been living and training at elevation for most of our lives, so we were well prepared. Still hard, but the terrain was more challenging than the elevation actually.
No using the dropper. 6 years ago? How were you able to ride wo a 63 degree ht angle? Lol. Quite the adventure... not just a bike trip. Like the Ewok music.
We did have droppers, but the bags would get in the way and buzz the tires when we dropped them too low. A delicate balancing act to say the least. Funny how much the geometry trends have changed in just 6 years!
@@natehills9388 Yeah. I hate that I can't use an under seat tool bag anymore, but I think I would ride one handed rather than no dropper now. Essential with modern goes and long reaches.
I was the only person filming like this at the time, and I was not , and am still not cool, lol. I carried so many batteries on this trip to keep the cameras rolling without being able to charge anything for 9 days.
Beautiful and mystical part of the world. Hope it never changes...
There are so few unspoiled areas left in the world.

This one made us tired, lol.

I am definitely missing these epic adventures. Need to get back to it.
That is sick man! Love the editing, a feat in itself to cut it down to this size. Can’t wait to see how it ends up next week!
Appreciate it!

big boy trip to South America🤘🏾love it! out of my budget for 2022.
boom, another awesome one from the lost archives, love those mountains, few things make you feel proud here, this is one of them.
Glad you enjoyed it. I came away feeling pretty humble actually.
Thanks!
Cheers Luke!!
@@natehills9388 Epic video my man. This kind of adventure riding is the best! Type 2 fun FTW
Amazing. Thanks for sharing this with us!
Our pleasure!
Really amazing, and what terrain- thanks for sharing! Sooooo many llamas! 🦙🦙🦙🦙🦙
So many llamas! They didn't know what to think of us. So curious.
What unique terrain! Sweet ride. Actually "ride" doesn't really describe that. More of a survival adventure. Can't wait for the next part.
This one was humbling, to say the least.
Epic ! its Epic! hope you travel to more exotic trails like this!
So Awesome. Thanks for sharing that!
Our pleasure!

It was definitely an effort with all the extra weight that we needed to carry to sustain life for 9 days.
@@natehills9388 Hey Nate, is the comment showing me to text a scam using your name?
Jeebus Nate, you've been sitting on this visually stunning gem for 6 years? Glad we finally got to see it but not cool to hold out so long ;)
Long distance Hammerheads.. Fn sweet...
Nate Hills did you send the # ?
Looks a bit like a cross between Scotland, California, and like, Norway?
What about the lack of air? Such high altitudes are very though to handle... Did you guys stayed some days to adpat in high altitude before step into the journey?
We have all lived at elevation for most of our lives fortunately. Seemed pretty normal aside from the added weight of everything we were carrying.
Waow! Actual MAUNTAINbiking and advanture! I m jealous.
That's badass! Wish I had been along on that one, my kind of punishment, lol!
These are the times you remember.
Oh I know, it's the tough and difficult rides that you really look back on and think how awesome they were.
Dude this is bonkers!
Wowza!
Yo Nate nice riding buddy :)
where do you put your gopro, so that it looks like this, at what angle, thks for de videos
I am filming off of a chest mount gimbal.
Wow! Great video 🤜🏼

Close as I could get, haha.

Awosome .
Wow, Why not just backpack? Was there a trail to follow?
Why walk when you can bike? 😁

When I clicked on your video, I thought I was watching Nacho Libre for a minute there…
First time I've smelled brake pads burning while watching a video.
You and me both!
You all see the skeleton at 5:28? Pretty cool
Evidence of nature at work.

Everything gets much sketchier with all that extra weight on the bike. Very xool
Indeed, piloting bikes with the added weight feels like you are drunk, haha
@@natehills9388 plus it's all in the wrong spots, high on the bike and on the handlebars.

Nate, I think a scammer is trying to give me a bike and helmet give aways. Says I win and I was picked...
Its a scam.
@@natehills9388 I know. I still like your channel and continue to follow all your rides.
Downhill casing tires a must
I think we were running DD. Maybe EXO actually. I can't believe we made it without any mechanicals actually. So lucky!
